Some people are so naive… blizzard is a multi billion corp, they have shareholders and $$ in mind, nothing more. Streamers, early access, free packs when you watch for two hours and all the other sh*t is just marketing.
Streamers’ full time job is streaming and promoting games. People need to stop thinking that streamers are the average Joe who plays the game as the player at home and start seeing them as blizzard “employees” nothing more nothing less.
I would normally buy pre releases the moment they appeared in the shop. This time I had second thoughts as I was losing interest in the game so I hadn’t bought it yet - now I know that I am not going to give them a single cent again, ever.
yes there are hard working developers and designers working for blizzard and they have produced some amazing games - hearthstone included - but this is serious. It proves once again that they only care about the money, not their people and of course not their players.
Standard will gradually fade away because of the rock papers scissors mechanism the op described. Same in wild but it was never really popular.
look at all the streamers, only 10% at best are playing standard / wild. Everyone else plays bgs. I was pre ordering for every expansion but I haven’t touched standard in two months now so I won’t be buying this time as it’s not fun to play anymore - I’m sure I’m not the only one. What’s the point of buying packs if the game ultimately decides who wins and loses based on the Rock Paper Scissors matchmaking?
This decks doesn’t stand a chance in the aggro meta which is traditionally always present and top tier in HS. Feels like you just put all the legendaries you had in a deck :)
I honestly don’t know why people buy decks and craft cards.
Aggro hunter, cheapest deck ever, consistently tier 1 / 2 for 3 years… blizzard want to keep F2P happy but they don’t realise they are losing people who were willing to buy decks as this is beyond joke
No clue what kind of drugs you took saying its a healthy meta, but its anything BUT a healthy meta. There is the exact same thing as before, only hunters are far above the rest now
Net decking is actively supported by blizzard. The codes ready to be copied and pasted, the bundle to buy a battle ready deck, the fact they allow trackers, you name it.
It works for them as it makes match making much easier, they can control win rates whilst collecting data from the same 10 decks rather than hundreds dyi ones. As long as blizzard actively promotes net decking, it will be a feature of the game we like it or not
Blizzard rigs RNG in a variety of ways for a variety of reasons. But some on this site will continue to deny it as if their livelihoods depended on it.
I’ve noticed a big change since the last patch - I know how it works and the whole psychological thing. I’ve been playing since day 1 - it’s different this time. And you miss the point - everyone’s win rates are lower not just mine. I specifically mentioned that it affects everyone not just me
Since the latest patch it is obvious that something is different. It feels like the game totally guides who wins or loses, like it’s all pre determined. It always was but this time it’s more obvious than ever.
- hits that cannot be random (1/100 chance for hit order) to total a hit for exact health again and again
- matching against top player in a row whilst others play ghost again and again
- no triple options whilst others have 5 by turn 6
- when playing against ghost suddenly the hits turn in your favour. I think the same algorithm applies to normal battles, some times against you sometimes for you. it’s obvious most of the time
im not saying the game is against me personally, just that they changed the algorithm to lower average win rate just like they do in standard. It feels that players have no control whatsoever
The game isn’t the same as back then… the difference is that it has “matured” from blizzards perspective… all these years they collect data so the algorithm is much more sophisticated with the ultimate goal of more $$$$ for them
also the frustration that it causes players these days is so much worse compared to the early days, again due to the game “maturity” and the tens of psychologists employed to play with players brains.
It’s just addictive due to the rng, the frustration it’s designed to cause, the design with all the childish emoticons and blink, and above all people’s desire to be the best, to win all the time the “ I just lost, surely it isn’t my fault, now you’ll see!”
it will gradually fade and people will stop playing. it’s not sustainable as frustration will win and we will all say “f*ck it” for real one day

So true… he probably won a couple of games

Couldn’t agree more

The meta will of course change as a result of the mini set but most of the cards revealed so far won’t see much play

Bad deck - bad against aggro ( dead by turn 5 vs dh and equally bad against control as you rely on one card to win)

Here’s a relevant post about wow - same strategy as HS: https://ackadia.com/psychology/evidence-blizzard-are-playing-psychological-mind-games/?amp
