the rank is just a number - been saying this to myself as I get anxious too, what will an extra rank give me? One more pack which I can buy with gold anyway! think about the end result and this will help with anxiety. Is it worth getting anxious for just a number in blizzards database and a pack of five cards which you probably already have anyway? I guess not
More nerfs = more grinding, what’s people’s obsession with nerfs?
don’t get me wrong sometimes they are needed to balance things out but people seem to think that a nerf will make them win all the time, not realising that the whole point is to bring average win rates closer to 50%, resulting in endless grinding
The entire game is designed to frustrate each player as much as possible, this way they make you want to play more, to win more, to show “who’s boss”.
The highlighted portrait, the hovering over cards, the “well played, “coward”, “I am...impressed” messages, they are all part of the game design to piss you off and make you more obsessed to win. BM is part of the game no matter if people like it or not.
Cheap aggro -play what card you get- decks played by below average iq players who think they rule the world because they won a game just by dragging and dropping a card by using a mouse
I’m exactly on the same boat - apart from the weekly quest, I just play casual and battlegrounds. And I have a pretty much complete standard card collection
I think bgs became more popular than blizzard had intended and they have no means of monetising its success.
just look at twitch viewers; very small numbers watching standard, arena and wild streams less than a handful, no one is streaming duels. bgs on the other hand have thousands.
I don’t think they will invest in bgs as they do in standard unless they find a way to make more money.
I do still play but I don’t care about mmr so I have fun the way it’s intended.... the mode is nothing more than a casino with no rewards apart from a number that doesn’t mean anything! Nothing at all...
I play against rafaam round 2? I just sell my entire board... Ragnaros that needs 2 more kills? Sell board, no kills from me! King Mukla an option? Just pick and wait until I’m dead - no hero power, no minions. Tess? Whoops empty board! Bigglesworth? Guess who sold the entire board and conceded...!
the entire mode is designed to piss players off without any rewards, so I’m doing just that
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been raising this for ages but it’s pretty much the core of the game design.
netdecking and meta driven rotation makes this easy for blizzard to control and keep win rates at an average of c. 50% across the board.
To an extent I can see why ( if rock papers scissors wasn’t part of the game and the matchmaking, everyone would be playing the same deck) but it’s so annoying that it will ultimately be the end of hearthstone as people get bored of endless grinding and games that are finished before they even begin

I think it’s obvious to many of us that rng is to an extend controlled by the algorithm rather than random.
There are cases in both standard and bgs when it’s obvious that the way things go must be controlled by software rather than a coincidence.
regarding the tavern brawl, I have a spare phone with an alt account - I just play against it and job done in seconds

I find it extremely irritating when someone plays a full golden deck... it’s usually a priest or shaman player for some reason and just a show off.
I automatically assume that’s the only deck they are playing and they are so cocky that they crafted it in golden. What a joy when they lose!

It may be true but I always think twice before I believe anything unusual I see on Twitter / social media in general
people can do anything for a few more followers - sigh

Cheap free to play decks will never be nerfed, get over it. They need boring no brainer decks so f2p players can stand a chance.
I’d rather watch the paint dry than play hunter

I wonder how on earth you found and replied to this post from 2019!

None - it’s like the solo quests: I wouldn’t even touch it if there was no reward

I just play a quick game against my alt account, get the pack and out of there
