Sharky_Tales posted a message on Thank the Lord for Classic format in these trying times!Posted in: Twist FormatA word of appreciation to Team 5 for implementing such a joyful format. I cannot imagine playing this game otherwise due to the disaster that is Standard right now. (I don't want to evaluate, you can see for yourself.)
Classic is like an oasis of moderately paced gameplay with limited resources on each side and little to none unga-boonga bullshit going on every game. You know what you are up against, know what to expect, can actually play around things.
Condolences to priests tho, they aint good.

Nymez posted a message on Classic is actually better than Standard and WildPosted in: Twist FormatFor years i really disliked the direction Blizzard took card design wise. I really enjoyed the game until somewhere around the Whispers of the old Gods release and the Standard/Wild split. Afterwards the randomness got completely out of hand.
Now with Classic we have Hearthstone back as it used to be. Turn‘s out it wasn‘t all nostalgia about the old decks.
It feels so good to have a somewhat predictable gameplay again without every second game turning into some crazy rng clown fiesta at some point.
You can finally properly play around cards again. Once youve seen/baited both Swipes/Brawls/Flamestrikes you know there is not going to be a 3rd. In Standard/Wild you never know. With all the randomness, discover, cards generating other cards, etc. it is almost impossible to know your opponents hand anymore. Against some decks it could literally be anything, even cards from other classes.
There might be less wacky stuff going on and matchups play out more similar each game. But man, it feels so much more rewarding to be rewarded for knowing the meta decks card by card, playing around cards/combos and being able to have a pretty good guess what the opponent might have in their hand based on the cards they already played.
Anyone else feels the same? In“ really hope people actively play this format. If it is a massive success it might have an positive impact on future card design.

Aramaneia posted a message on Silence Priest Bronze 10 to Legend 2167, 62% win ratePosted in: General Deck BuildingViable without Octosari? Some monthes ago got golden version of this... disenchated, 'cause I thought that it was most useless card ever printed.
And it would be little strange to craft it after that (and if this is really win condition... I will feel myself really, really strange xD)

Shadowrisen posted a message on Silence Priest Bronze 10 to Legend 2167, 62% win ratePosted in: General Deck BuildingGrats dude, I've run into silence priest a couple of times along the way to legend this month, but this deck has a couple of features I haven't seen anywhere else. Bravo.
EDIT: I'm shocked you only saw 7 rogues on the way up. I imagine you'd continue to eat them alive, they are not well set to handle that sort of deck.

I love the way you play differently with cards.

CodyCandy posted a message on Silence Priest Bronze 10 to Legend 2167, 62% win ratePosted in: General Deck BuildingLiked and subbed. Love supporting new Content creators that don’t run the meta. Suggestion though, start the video off with a description of the deck. Talk about some of the combos that you want to look for while they’re playing. You get to them throughout the video, but by explaining the combos first people will want to see them in action and be more invested. Especially if they don’t get it. Just an idea though.

You can silence the statlines back. That makes most of the targets either good for their stats or a cheaper version of their effect.

You're right, I should really try Supreme Abyssal. I originally assumed it would just be too expensive, but if I feel like I can run Jepetto, that's not really the problem. I still worry about investing 8 mana + a silence into a single minion, but the upside is huge.

Greetings everyone,
Looking for a way to successfully play priest that doesn't lead to long, grindy games? I just took this silence priest homebrew to Legend from the very bottom of the ladder super fast (62% win rate to Legend 2167).
Gameplay video from the end of the climb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qEu3wzMMqc
I used a similar deck last season, but feel like this one is really refined now, and performing well against the meta.
The deck is fast and fun with the average game taking 9.1 turns. The deck guide above has things like strategy, mulligans, card choices, and stats from last season. Here were the hero matchup winrates this season
Demon Hunter 19/29 65.5%
Priest: 11/15 73.3%
Hunter: 7/15 46.7%
Druid: 7/12 58.3%
Warrior: 6/10 60%
Rogue: 6/7 85.7%
Mage: 5/7 71.4%
Shaman: 3/6 50%
Paladin: 3/5 60%
Warlock: 0/2 0%
Notably strong against Demon Hunter Priest, Rogue, and Mage. The only bad matchup against a popular deck was Highlander Hunter (4/11, 36.4%).
Any suggestions or have you tried something similar? If you give a shot let us know how it goes. Good luck to everyone!

I really miss Northshire Cleric. I used to play a lot of Combo Priest.
2
I ended up giving Octosari a shot and really like it. I've added him to the list.
3
I thought about Octosari in, but I don't own it, and it seemed a bit speculative to pay 1600 dust for. Let me know how it goes. hopefully it doesn't just get silenced, morphed, or stolen.
2
I miss Inner Fire too, although more for the combo deck version. I think the strength of this deck is that it outtempos aggro and midrange decks. Control decks are problematic of course, but without some good card draw for priest, it's tough.
2
Running out of cards is definitely the weakness of the decks, but Priest just doesn't have good access to card draw anymore. I tried to mitigate it in a couple ways, and Galakrond wasn't too bad for instance, but ultimately everything I tried just took away from consistency on turns 1-5, and I felt I was better of leaning into its strength of getting a really fast snowballing start than to try to help with the longer game.

Today I'm refining an aggressive Silence Priest build that does a lot of my favorite things, build pull off combos for tempo, build big minions, and duplicate them. Piloted it into Diamond so far early in this season, and pushing my way to legend.
