TizonaDelCid posted a message on Let's Speculate: Upcoming Balance ChangesPosted in: NewsI dislike Hall of Fame for one particular reason - the overall card pool of certain classes has decreased comparing to others. Blizzard didn't give mage, rogue and warlock anything in exchange for Ice Lance, Conceal and Power Overwhelming and right now their card pools are one card short unlike other classes. If Blizzard moves Ice Block to HoF, they'll reduce the card pool of mage even further. They MUST give something in return or this is straight up bullsh*t.
Feel free to downvote.

Wurstfett posted a message on Let's Speculate: Upcoming Balance ChangesPosted in: NewsJust change Doomguard that it has only charge as a battlecry so Doomguards produced by a cube don't have charge. Problem solved! No need to put Doomguard into Wild and hurt Zoolock a lot too for no reason.

kreptoman posted a message on keleseth rogue 80% win rate legend euPosted in: keleseth rogue 80% win rate legend euThis is a classic tempo rogue deck from VS Meta report, but with a twist. This list exists since KFT (around 6 months in different variations). There is nothing new about this list which has not been known for months. People know how to play against this on high ranks, and it has been consistently countered with control warlock/cubelock, Razakus priest and aggro druid.
I play this deck (-ooze & spellbreaker, tar creeper and faldorei, + 2x saronite chain gang, deckhand and scalebane), the winrate between ranks 5-legend is around 50%. The strongest counter to this deck, aggro druid, is not so played atm, but priest and warlock will take you down consistently. Against aggro paladin you are favored 60:40.
@everybody - do not craft this deck if you expect 80% winrate. It is false or extremely low number of games on a streak. It is a tier 1 deck, but not dominating as OP says.
If you do want to play the deck, the version from VS is better than this. Faldorei strider is too slow for this deck, and tar creeper and ooze are techs against paladin and warlock, although it makes the deck worse in general. You shouldnt play these cards in this deck.
@OP, i will downvote your deck because you are lying about the winrate.

danklesminky posted a message on Best deck to reach legend right now?Posted in: Standard FormatIm surprised no one has mentioned tempo rogue yet so I will. This is my go-to deck for climbing ladder. Like Raza Priest, tempo rogue is busted when you draw well and doesn’t really have any awful matchups on ladder right now. Unlike priest the games are typically short so it’s a better deck for climbing. I went to rank 5 with tempo rogue last season and it was a really quick and easy climb at the end of the season when I was tired of memeing at rank 10 and wanted to cash in my 400 free dust. Only took an afternoon to get from 10-5.

I think you are missing a key one - lack of meta diversity.
Ofc, some decks will always be frustrating to play against (and what one player views as frustrating is not necessarily the same for another). This isn't so much a problem if the meta is diverse. A card game NEEDS variety in play styles to suit the diverse wants of the player base.
When 50-60% of my matchups are scam mage and paladin... that's when things are a problem for me. The reason I don't want to play is NOT bc the decks are frustrating to play against but rather the frustration is never-ending because they are the large majority of matchups. This is the same feels bad when evolve shaman was wrecking the meta.

It's day 2 of an expansion - ofc rogue is going to be doing well. It always does when feeding on unrefined decks...
Until blizzard gives rogue defensive tools and healing - ofc the class is going to SMOrc. xD

Valeera, no hesitation. Her 1k portrait is awful (only playable in pirates deck imo). OG Valeera is BAE, but a change is always nice. And Maiev is not a rogue! She is a warden!

This actually fits w/ my projections (on XP per week). I've been logging about 22k xp/wk *16wk/expansion = 352k xp in total. That would put me at level 85. Currently I am at level 31 and they project me to be at level 84. Close enough for me.
Source for xp gains required.

I think the XP system is actually boosting the amount of gold I will obtain by ~3000+. I understand some of the hate for this system, but overall... until we have a full "season" and can see where we end up, it is all speculation.
Imagine if they release a double XP event for 1-2wk ... This can drastically boost XP gain levels! I won't complain until we see the final results.

IKR. When is rogue going get another hero?! It's the ONLY class with 2! Le sigh.

Rogue is the cockroach of HS. Despite all blizzard does, it will survive...
This statement is false re: Miracle... "Although it still uses Preparation, the nerf doesn't affect it quite as negatively because Preparation retains a lot of its value when combined with Gadgetzan Auctioneer, and the list really only runs one spell above 3-mana anyway!" The prep nerf affects more than just 3+ mana spells... such a naive statement.
Anyway, Togg's treasures are also impacted and this deck would probably like to run FoK... to deal with token aggression and the additional cycle... but the nerf to Prep has made FoK such a horrible card. Also, Miracle lists used to run Questings against greedy control decks or Violet Teachers vs. token strats..., and both are strictly worse due to Prep nerf. And Edwin combo's less well... yes hardly any impact on Miracle game style... I seriously question that Blizzard understand how big a nerf Prep is to the entire rogue class... not just spells that are 3 or more mana cost...

The nerf to prep demonstrates the balancing team's complete misunderstanding of "tuning" cards. Preparation is hardly an auto-include, especially in tempo rogue decks (just look back at Keleseth rogue lists... pre and post-patches nerf). The main reason it sees play in the Pick Rogue is due to its synergy with Raiding Party. Raiding party and its inherent synergies with weapon and pirates (which synergies with weapons) have been the problem. To say "Preparation is regularly used to reduce the cost of cards like Sap or Eviscerate, and those interactions will remain unchanged," is asinine. Preparation is rarely placed in a rogue deck to reduce sap or eviscerate cost... that's never been the case. I'd argue that preparation has been to enable draw turns (either through Sprint/Auctioneering/FoK) or combo-effects (Edwin, Questing Adventures, SI, Violet teachers, Malygos).
The nerf to preparation and the lack of buff to other rogue spells that pay the "Prep tax" essentially means the following cards are also nerfed... along with potentially others.
Fan of Knives, Sprint, Wanted, Toggwaggle Treasures, Necrium Vial, Myra's Unstable Element, Vanish.
As a rogue main, I'm glad rogue will be hipster again but the class doesn't feel the same to me now with the Prep nerf. The blind nerfs to all these spells will influence my favorite deck types... Miracle will be slower, creating big token boards with teacher will be harder, explosive Edwin's or Questings to beat control will be less likely... and the complete lack of AoE due to nerfed Prep/FoK combo & Blade Flurry (RIP) means rogue will be even more squishy to board flood decks.

I have been wondering how much the loss of the outward-facing "community" people... due to the lay-offs... has affected the card reveals/timing/quality etc. Coordinating card reveals seems like a natural role for the community-based staff/resources.
