Started in the game about the beginning of October... Came up through the starter levels in no time flat. Only bought the starter bundle at first. Hit the meta tiers, and lack of cards basically made it near impossible to win. Since then, I spent about $1200 trying to flesh out my collection. Still can't break past rank 16. Missing so many legendaries and epics still that a lot of top decks are out of reach. Hate playing Hunter as much as I do, but trying to keep from spending more money, and trying to farm gold with most other classes isn't working so great for me at the moment. Just trying to complete as much of the sets that aren't cycling in April as I can.

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but how are you not able to break rank 16 after spending $1200 on cards? Do you change the deck you play a lot while climbing?

I started out with a mage deck that got me nowhere when I hit rank 20. It was just what I was used to playing up to that point. Still lacked a lot of cards, so I ended up going with an Odd Paladin. That did okay, but seemed like every time I hit rank 17 or so, I'd get matched against a lot of control decks or run up against a bunch of combo or other aggro decks and get terrible RNG. Many games, I never even saw my Level Up!, and had to do the best I could. Obviously, I'm still pretty new, and I've made more than a few mistakes. Still never figured that such a high performing deck would let me down that much; I'm not a terrible player, just not a top player. Since the Level Up! nerf, I've tried my hand with midrange and secret hunters with much the same outcome. Every time I hit rank 17 I seem to hit a wall. Started running a Mecha'thun Priest after some success on casual with it, but barely getting 50% win rate at the moment simply because Hemet, Jungle Hunter too often seems to fall in the last 10 cards of my deck. Actually do fairly decent against all but the most aggressive of aggro decks, but getting that key card is hard enough to hold me back.

posted a message on Temporus is not useless anymore?

I know it would be practically impossible... You'd have to get a Temporus from a random card, and somehow reduce the costs enough, but I was wondering what would happen if you could play Temporus after using the Mage quest... Would it skip your opponents turns and give you 3 turns?

You could do like everyone else and just go for a Mid-range Hunter deck. Most of them weigh in at less than 2k dust. Top of Hearthpwn list right now is an 800 dust Mid-range Hunter. Sadly, Hunter is really about the only cheap deck with a decent win rate any more.

posted a message on Why didn't rexxar got nerfed

Rexxar, Jaina, and Guldan are all powerful cards... the biggest difference between the three is that Rexxar is just 6 mana. If it cost 7 or 8 mana, it would still be a solid card in many decks, but much less of an auto-include. I can't count the number of times I've faced a Rexxar who's managed to pull a hydra or bloatbat with poison that can instantly wipe multiple minions. Yeah, it's overpowered. It probably needs to be nerfed as much or more than some of the other cards that were recently nerfed, but I don't think they should nerf it any more than they should have nerfed everything else lately. Just let them all cycle out with the next expansion. Let Wild figure out new ways to deal with them.

Wild Pyromancer > Power Word Shield > Power Word Shield > Regenerate... or substitute almost any other cheap spells.

Edit: mistakingly put Radient Elemental first.

posted a message on Card Nerf - Level Up!

Odd Paladin is still playable, maybe not at the same levels it once was, but I have won many games without ever drawing a Level Up!. I do however dislike this nerf mainly because Odd Paladin was one of the most reliable and cheapest decks for climbing the ladder. For those of us new to the game, or with limited card collections, it presented a good opportunity to compete in a game that is not very kind to noobs. Granted, the new "training" ranks help somewhat, but you still leave them with a pitiful collection when you finally hit the meta. Furthermore, while Level Up! gave Odd Paladin a strong dose of burst damage, it was far from a guaranteed win like many people suggest. I've had many games where I've used it only to watch my board get cleared by a quick AoE, not to mention that most opponents understand the danger that Level Up! poses and strive to make it difficult to keep any Silver Hand minions on the board. You can't level up what you can't keep on the board, and late game, there are more than enough responses. I will keep playing my Odd Paladin, but it will no longer be my preferred ladder deck, unfortunately. I guess like everyone else, I'm going to Hunter.

Overkill is when your attack exceeds the enemy minion's health, not it's attack.
