i don't think even paladin want this unless people create a new list oriented to silverhand recruits with jailor and stuff to get recruits, which feels a lot worse than the other even paladins, the card probably is dead now, i mean at least Call to Arms had the chance to cicle yor decks giving it a slot in combo decks, here i don't see a good reason to play it ( i could be wrong).
Now about odd paladin.......FINALLY, geez this nerf took it's time, Odd paladin still will have good matches, but this card was a winning play most of the time, so this will hurt a lot the archtype winrate, an entire year hearing "None will ssssssurviveeeee! almost every single match against paladin started to take out my sanity, thank god this will no longer be the case
played more than 200 games whit the deck and i can say that it is dead
level up is the unique reason for summons recruits have sense, you want full the board just to buff it
the enemy althe enemy always played with the pressure off that you buff yours recruits
the archetype just as we know it, it is not viable anymore
i voted no, because they kill the archetype instead just nerf it, that was my 3 deck, that all i voted no, because they kill the archetype instead of just nerf it that was my 3 deck (odd rogue/pala and zoolock), that allowed me to play some online tournaments (bo3), since i dont have a big collection
Odd Paladin is still playable, maybe not at the same levels it once was, but I have won many games without ever drawing a Level Up!. I do however dislike this nerf mainly because Odd Paladin was one of the most reliable and cheapest decks for climbing the ladder. For those of us new to the game, or with limited card collections, it presented a good opportunity to compete in a game that is not very kind to noobs. Granted, the new "training" ranks help somewhat, but you still leave them with a pitiful collection when you finally hit the meta. Furthermore, while Level Up! gave Odd Paladin a strong dose of burst damage, it was far from a guaranteed win like many people suggest. I've had many games where I've used it only to watch my board get cleared by a quick AoE, not to mention that most opponents understand the danger that Level Up! poses and strive to make it difficult to keep any Silver Hand minions on the board. You can't level up what you can't keep on the board, and late game, there are more than enough responses. I will keep playing my Odd Paladin, but it will no longer be my preferred ladder deck, unfortunately. I guess like everyone else, I'm going to Hunter.

Go ahead and try, it is unplayable if you want any kind of reasonable winrate. The threat of Level Up! was almost as important as the card itself. Now, your opponent can just ignore your dudes and go face whenever they feel they have an advantage...

That's the key. Control players had to throw away removal to prevent a big buf and now they don't have to. The small recluits aren't a thread by themselves and that allows the opponent to use health as a resource until they develop the board or decide to use a removal. The deck is completly garbage without level up, a weaker and limited version of zoo.

Odd paladin was the Cheapest meta deck at less than 4k dust for most variations, and only required 1 legendary to work. With this out of the way the next cheapest decks on ladder will be around 7k, which is pretty much unachievable for someone who only gets on like once a week. I'm better off just making a new account (which gives over 3k in free dust between packs, adventures, & free items) than disenchanting the deck. Another step for blizzard towards P2W or give up on having a life. I really only play anymore because I've been around since it came out, but last expansion I actually enjoyed outside of solo adventures was the Frozen Throne.
I hope they tested even-cost Level Up! extensively. Even Paladin will probably replace Odd Paladin as the top deck anyway.
Even Paladin uses a lot of different cards and a different gameplan (in it's current form) if level-up finds it's way into Even Paladin most of the deck will be changed.
Agreed. Even paladin does not want a lot of dudes but rather just something on the board to buff with strong single target bus buffs like blessing of Kings or spikeride steed.
Just because the current version wouldn't want to grab it and call it a day doesn't mean that another version of the deck that looks to go wide can't be created. And even though most token generators are odd-cost now, that doesn't mean Blizz won't ever print even-costed ones in the future.
Also, Drygulch Jailor gives a lot of tokens to complement the 1-mana dudes from hero power. Throw Lightfused Stegodons into the mix and the deck could be quite oppressive. Sunkeeper Tarim will be super good there as always.
A voice of reason and critical thinking. A gentleman and scholar, I dare say!
You could do like everyone else and just go for a Mid-range Hunter deck. Most of them weigh in at less than 2k dust. Top of Hearthpwn list right now is an 800 dust Mid-range Hunter. Sadly, Hunter is really about the only cheap deck with a decent win rate any more.

Who voted no to this one lol? This should have been unanimous.

Creer es poder
I don't think it's a good nerf. It deserved but not a good way to do one.
Quartermaster is 5 costed and comes with a body
Sunkeeper Tarim is 6 costed and comes with an even bigger body
This should be 4 costed, or change the effect to something else, like +4 health instead of +2/+2
I don't underatand how people think Odd paladin can still be playable after this. It was the one powerplay of the deck, and it is gone.
The big question is if Even paladin will take it's place, if Level Up! fits, and how it does vs the inevitable hunter invation.

I don't think I'll miss it.
