Addisono posted a message on ETC made Wild far betterPosted in: Wild FormatI haven't played many other card games, but when I was in middle school I played Dragon Ball Z collectible card game and they had a 'Sensei Deck' which was a side deck of varying sizes you could used to substitute cards deck at the beginning of the game once you saw your opponents deck type and hero (in that game you randomly discarded cards and put the new ones in) feels very much like that to me, I've heard others say other card games have had things like this.
I think it is a great mechanic too, feels good and effective and strong, but not overly so. I love how once the card has been discovered from 'the band' it can't be discovered again (I tried to go infinite with Zola in there my first game lol) I think they knocked it outta the park.
OP: interesting choice on Togwaggle, I'll have to remember that. Btw - I really don't like Shuddershaman rn lol

I'm sure the nerfs helped, but not enough it was going to be stale.
But the introduction of ETC really mixed things up and wild is packed with variety and there does not seem to be a Tier 0 deck.
I see a wide mix of classes, most of them have a few viable archetypes. And somehow Pirate Rogue and Secret Mage are not oppressive.
I've been playing Shudderwock Shaman with Togwaggle in ETC in some previously unwinnable matchups, I can sometimes Togwaggle into Sir Finley and get a ton of Quest Mage cards or 1 cost Druid cards or Control Priest cards and it ruins the few combo decks out there.
ETC is best thing since Renethal to me.

irhmgg posted a message on Festival of Legends Final Reveal Stream! - All Cards Revealed, Launches April 11th!Posted in: Newsi think people underestimate how powerful warlock cards are. Dirge of Despair can be played on turn 3, and demonic dynamics can discover VoidCaller with perfect curve or another one of new imp or a big demon for VoidCaller. just perfect cards for big demon-undead archetype

i dont want to discover at the end of my turn, i need an answer for this turn.
Not only that, but mage has so many "discover a spell" cards, that powercreep that.
Even in a very very slow meta, this feels meh. but lets see the other cards. -

Tarious posted a message on Year of the Wolf Core Set Update!Posted in: NewsA few things:
1)Dirty Rat is core now, which no one is talking about.
2)Zilliax has been powercrept out of the game and it'll be like Tar Creeper last rotation. I didn't see that played once in the last year.
3)A rez priest card was made core, so be ready for that to pop back up.
4) Eater of Secrets is useless vs objection
5)Shard of the Naaru, everyone's favorite card is now core.
6)DH is getting their "Ignore all taunts" legendary back.

This is the effect that I wish that Gonk had. Better application and more versatility than just building OTK combos.

With the release of the first expansion of the year it is always a good time to play wild if you find yourself getting bored of the meta in standard a month or two after release.
With only 4/6 of the year’s full sets released it can feel quite ‘short’ of a few cards at times. Witchwood definitely had this feel and thus the high Baku/Genn frequency.
That being said, this will be one of the most fresh feeling meta’s in a while, with hopefully very new mechanics and some sleeper cards coming to light. Watch out for wild though, because quite often new cards can have some absolutely broken interactions with existing wild cards. Star Aligner Druid.
