I have about 1,700 wins on Warlock, trust me it's not the heal or the weapon that makes Lord Jaraxus good, if her HP spawns elementals then having an endless amount of value with life link in a control mirror it's amazing and keeping your health +5 armor lets you stay above the burst cap all the while. These cards are going to dramatically shift the balance in the control mirror away from Warlock because they no longer have a monopoly on an unlimited amount of value mechanic that lets them face roll those match ups.

    Standard is for weebs.

If the Heor Power summons a Water Elemetal than the card is 100% better than Lord Jaraxus, because you don't cap your HP to 15 and start with a minion in play. I mean get an Emperor Thaurissan tick, play this and get two Water Elementals with life link, that's pretty absurd.

Is it possible to fit Sneed's Old Shredder anywhere? Seems like good N'Zoth value but there's already a lot of late game.

It's too slow, if you're trying to maximize N'zoth value then you're better off with Feugen/Stalaag so you can play the mid-range beat down role vs Jade Druid and Control Warrior, the 5 drop slot is practically vacant so you could easily cut Mortal Coil and Impgang Boss for them.

For the first time since launch I am actually done with ranked. For the first time I'm actually choosing to play casual just so I can insta-concede to every stupid quest rogue I see.

Nice way to destroy this game and take every fun aspect out of it. I despise Blizzard for still not fixing this shit and every idiot who play this deck even though they very well know it's no fun for anyone. Pathetic is the word

    /Endrant

You can still maintain rank 20/15/10/5 while instantly conceding against certain classes without penalty, and have a more competitive and thought provoking experience than casual.
Unless you also enjoy other people instantly conceding against you.
You can still reach Legend with a 100% loss rate to Quest Rogue, I've done it with Renolock in Wild twice now. Personally I don't know how people are defending Quest Rogue, at least control could beat Jade Druid by getting ahead on board, but Quest Rogue is pretty much impossible to beat without a stroke of luck. I think there's something very wrong when a Standard deck can just destroy a Wild deck, and considering both Quest Rogue and Quest Warrior do just that on the back of their Quest alone it's pretty clear their design is horribly flawed. I think that's just the consequence of having an uninteractive card that can't be removed thru' the combat phase tho'. that's been true of CCGs since Moat ruined Magic for years.

If you want only one of each of those, Mad Scientist is the way to go (Iaadeedaa right on the spot with the explanation). However, I think you should include 2 of both, or at least 1 Arcanologist as well. It's a premium *draw a card*-card!

I would agree with this, but factor in how many secrets you are running in your deck also. no point running 4 'draw a secret' cards when only running 2 x Ice Blocks for eg. You don't want to waste their abilities by simply being a 2 mana 2/2 or 2/3 - in fact I personally would always go with the ratio of 1 Scientist/Arcanologist per 2 secrets, as youre very likely to also draw a secret directly from Arcane Intellect/Acolyte of Pain etc etc
I disagree, some of the Secrets are important enough that you want 2 of both Mad Scientiest and Arcanologist regardless of failed activations, in a deck like Aggro Freeze Mage all you care about is that you have 2 Ice Blocks to stall and if you do then a vanilla 2/2 or 2/3 doesn't matter because the body itself is worth the mana cost and you have your double Ice Block on board/in hand. I actually dislike Arcanologist in regular Freeze Mage because you don't really want to have to draw and cast Secrets but find Alexstraza, so Loot Hoarder gives the deck more momentum as you draw into more important cards or draw into draw to keep digging for those more important cards.
However Mad Scientist isn't always better than Arcanologist, the latter is better with Duplicate in control shells so you can set up Duplicate plays as you wish. It also really depends on whether or not you are playing with Valet, because he's a River Crocolisk until you do get a Secret.

posted a message on So it's been a year now : rogue players, what about blade flurry ?

I don't think Team 5 nerfed Blade Flurry because they wanted to print new weapons  and poisons for Rogue or they would've printed them already, rather Blade Flurry was nerfed for the same reason Magma Giant was nerfed i.e. Blizzard didn't want Malygos Rogue to be one of the best possible decks at the start of the Standard season. With Emperor and Drake gone, I think that nerf should probably be re-evaluated.

The deck is tier 2 and a control meta isn't actually a thing.  Quest Rogue is fine and honestly, even though it's not the most fun thing in the world to play or play against, it is a completely reasonable deck for the game.  People just need to accept that and move on.

Define reasonable, the deck is better at abusing charge than Worgen Warrior was and they nerfed Charge because of it - Worgen Warrior was a Tier 2 deck as well so ...

It was/is, it's one of those brain dead mechanics Blizzard printed to punish control players by letting the aggro and midrange decks play for the board with total disregard for your removal and then just redraw a whole new hand. For whatever reason, people seem to think it's ok because it's mediocre vs midrange and worthless vs aggro, like polarization into a Paper, Scissors, Rock metagame is some how a major design success, but the card is pretty absurd at what it does and literally carries Paladin aggro vs control.

Why is it not okay for a card to be better vs certain matchups?
It's a matter of degree, a card shouldn't be overpowered in one match up, marginal in a second match up and worthless in a third match up because polarizing card effects tend to create uninteractive games where there is nothing a Handlock can do vs a Divine Favour but there is nothing a Divine Favour can do vs a Pirate Warrior etc. Furthermore, there is a serious design problem with cards which have effects that can scale beyond their cost, from the classic set the cards that fell into that category like Alexstraza, Gadetzan Auctioneer, Brawl, Equality and Divine Favour pretty much defined the game respectively. If you look at the better designed "hate" cards, like old Big Game Hunter and Ironbeak Owl, Acidic Swamp Ooze and maybe Kezan Mystic those cards weren't completely worthless vs aggro and still really good vs control.
I think when you make a card like Divine Favour, you're just band aiding the fact that your design for Paladin is incredibly shitty otherwise and you should come up with a design for Paladin aggro that doesn't rely on one card to beat control.

Because good game design is not based on Paper, Scissors, Rock and a deck that has overwhelmingly polarized matchups vs anything slower than Pirates or Murlocs isn't good for the game, the only reason people aren't playing it as much now as they were last season is because they realized it was weak vs aggro and that makes it difficult to climb with. A deck that is weak vs aggro but preys on control is just doing the metagame a disservice because it discourages control players from keeping aggro in check so that people can play other fair decks like Hunter. The game does not need "answers" to control, because control decks answer each other by gambling on how much value they can play and midrange can just play a top heavy deck and give control fits because they outcurve their removal.

Also I think a lot of people forget that aggro is really linear right now, QR can just run 2 Crabs of the anti Pirate or Murloc variety and have a pretty good chance in those match ups as well. Average win rate isn't a metric worth discussing because most decks fall in the 47 to 53% category, it's the win rate disperssion that you really have to loot at to understand if the deck is problematic. Furthermore I would take that bet on QR being around for awhile, try playing Wild ladder at legend rank and you'll see quite a few people playing it vs MUCH better control decks than anything you can build in Standard.

You can't have one deck that slaughters an entire archetype across multiple classes, when you create stupid shit like QR and Jade Druid which you can face roll vs control then you're going to hear people bitch to no end because you literally shit on every one who is trying to deal with aggro cancer and play the highest skill cap decks in the game. And I'm sorry, but if I have to play Pirate Warrior because of an abundance of QR then I'd rather just turn off Hearthstone and take my chess board to the park. I refuse to have to adapt to a game design mistake by joining the ranks of shit throwing monkeys.
