Nope, youre not a loser for not enjoying those matchups. I have played since beta as well and only gotten to legend twice, simply because theres no point. I regret hving done it more than once. Also, I share your lack of enjoyment in the matchup department. Lets see:

Quest rogue - Broken "free win" bullshit.

    Pirate Warrior - Curve/no skill/free win bullshit

Taunt warrior - Curve/no skill bullshit

Midrange hunter - Curve/no skill bullshit

    Shaman (Bloodlust/evolve variant) - Curve/no skill bullshit

    Agro druid - Curve/Free win/No skill bullshit

Jade Druid - Curve/no skill bullshit

    Secret/burn mage - Curve/no skill bullshit

Murloc paladin - Curve/no skill bullshit

Silence priest - Gimmicky/free win bullshit

There's a weird trend on here in which people consider any deck that they don't like to be easy and mindless while their preferred deck requires a modern-day Gary Kasparov to handle its nuances and subtleties. I finally hit rank 5 this morning, and played against and with some of those decks; even the much maligned Pirate Warrior can be difficult to play well absent a very lucky "kill them by turn 4" draw. A Quest Rogue, in particular, has to strike a balance between quickly competing the quest AND not allowing ones opponents to do enough damage and build up enough threats to kill you before they can finish you off. Your mileage, of course, may vary. If it's not fun for you anymore I'm sure there are other games you can find.

posted a message on [WAY TOO EARLY] How are you preparing for the next expansion? Are you?

I'm strictly F2P, so I have to hoard gold. I bought all the packs I could afford when it was released, dusted all the cards that rotated out of standard, and immediately started saving gold. Currently at 4880.

I'm also pretty casual, and don't put a ton of time into the ladder. This is my best season, and I'm currently at rank 7, and likely won't have time to play enough today to push that higher.

posted a message on Has anyone gotten the Dream Counterspell yet??

I countered a Crystal Core once. To be fair, he hit my counterspells twice with either bounces or a mimic pod. I drew a third with a Primordial Glyph and had it waiting for him. To add insult to injury, I put a Mana Bind on top of the counterspell, so I gained the quest reward that he lost.

Emotes don't usually bother me.  Things that do bother me are:

    1)  When your opponent intentionally ignores lethal damage and essentially forces you either to concede or spend another 5 turns getting toyed with.

    2)  When you opponent plays a bunch of cards, even though they have the win on the board.

    3)  And the #1, when someone adds to as a friend for sole purpose of talking $#!+

3.5)  The super-slow thing is annoying, too, but  someone already mentioned, you can just walk away for a bit.

Mostly agreed, and I'll add disconnecting rather be than concede when you have them beat. I see Pirate Warriors do this more than anyone else.

Re:2, I try to give the benefit of the doubt. They could be one or two cards away from a quest and just want to collect their gold. In general, though, I agree.

Are you sure about the two Cruel Dinomancers? Unless you're unlucky enough to discard something really strong, they don't strike me as a great bargain.

posted a message on Quest Rogue is the new Pirate Warrior

Before the release I kept reading complaints that the rogue quest was too weak.

We shall see how it plays out. I'm experimenting with Shaman Murloc decks and Mage timewarp decks because those are the two quests I found in my packs [disappointingly, I drew the Shaman one twice]. I did run into one Pirate rogue with a Southsea Deckhand and some shadowsteps. It worked well for him, but it seems very highly draw-dependent; if your shadowsteps are in the back of the deck, you end up with a handful of junk minions [Brewmasters are probably too slow for the lightning-fast win this generates at its best].

And yes, I suspect that a well-constructed Taunt Warrior would be a really tough fight for this kind of deck. We'll see.

It's fun for one run through.

I like that they're giving Un'goro packs; it'll be a nice start to the new expansion.

It didn't seem too difficult a brawl. It's almost nice to have a single-player one as a change of pace.

Yep. Now every turn after turn 3 you get a Party Crasher if and only if there isn't one on your side of the board.

It changes it significantly. The crasher is still a taunt, so you need to get rid of it if you're to do any other damage, but they don't snowball absurdly anymore. You still get the new one at the start of your turn and it attacks at the end, so the 3 damage per turn is still pretty much automatic.

posted a message on What's up with all the clown fiestas?

I like constructed decks better. Ironically, they have better replay value in that you can play a few rounds, learn the deck, and then have some idea how to play it. It's a much different [and, to me, less interesting] game if you're guessing at what cards you and your opponent have remaining. There's also often a lack of synergy in the random decks which can make some cards very much undervalued.

posted a message on Encounter at the Crossroads - Tavern Brawl #92

It's not the best brawl. The Party Crashers mechanic works to circumvent most "clever" ways around them. "Auto-Attack" is more like "does damage to..." than an actual attack. So no triggering secrets, no effect for being frozen, ignore taunts. ..nI had someone try to clear the board with a Doomsayer. Unfortunately, the Party Crashers arrive before the Doomsayer's effect is realized, leaving the one playing it with a disadvantage.

In addition, purely random decks make it impossible to know what is possibly coming up [not that it matters much. I've not see a game go much past turn 6]

It's a really frustrating brawl if one wants to be clever.

First game was weird. Opponent played Lorewalker Cho thrice, then our hands got completedly clogged with the Offensive Play spells. He beat me in a weird, ugly game.

Then, in the worst synergy ever, I got Milhouse Manastorm and he got the one that gives a free spell with each use of a hero power.

posted a message on Gift Exchange - Tavern Brawl #86

I wonder if this would have worked better if they simply have each box give a gift to its owner rather than the player whose turn it is. Then the Warlock class cards [Hellfire, Fellfire potion, Power Overwhelming] aren't as unbalancing. It would skew the game more towards removal and taunt minions to protect "your" crate.

As it stands, it's a pretty much one-class brawl. There's some chance with Paladin buffing their own crates, but because the crate is created at the start of your turn it has to "sleep" for a round. Other classes are playable, but Warlock is far and away the optimal choice, so far as I can see.

Interestingly, draw cards don't run the discover, but give you a 1 mana "Peruse" card which discovers from your deck.

not quite what I expected. Had a couple quick wins with Jade Druid. Going to tinker a bit.
