Meh, I've tried using albatross vs. Highlander Hunter.  It just isn't good enough.

When it was 3 mana it might have been worth including going turn 4 into psychopomp.  Turn 4 albatross into turn 5 psychopomp just leaves you dead.

Now we have the answer... You're mad that Highlander Hunter counters Priest... The Surge in appearance of Priest is why there's so many HL Hunters out there now... Play any other deck and it's not so bad.

How new to the game are you? Usually there's only 3 viable decks to be sick of. Right now, even on ladder, I'm seeing more variety than I've seen in a long time. If you don't like playing against the same 6 or so decks over and over, then you would HATE every other expansion when its the same 3-4 decks over and over... The frequent updates were balance patches... If there's balance? It's hard to... Balance... More?

I've been playing since GvG.  Are you saying you're not seeing the same decks over and over again?

The purpose of frequent updates is to shake up the meta.  Obviously there are cards that need to see more play, and some less.

I would go on but I think my point is made.

Yes.. I'm seeing the same 8-12 decks over and over again as opposed to the usually 3 decks over and over. That's 3-4 times the variety. If you've been playing since gvg then you know there hasn't been this much variety for a few years.

How do you shake up a meta when it's balanced? Buff one deck through the roof, so it's the only deck we see? Or, nerf one into oblivion, so there's 1 fewer deck on the ladder? What updates do you want exactly, and how does it shake up the meta? The only way to shake up the meta without killing the balance would be a new game mode, and we won't see one of those for a long while.

The only other way would be to introduce new cards... We call that an expansion... Decks are made with the best viable cards for their class. Right now, 9 of the 10 classes have balanced cards that have viability in the meta. They screwed up Shaman with cards that don't sync. I can't think of any buffs that would give Shaman a contending deck. It's basically stuck in its rut until it sees new cards.

Any further updates would be so minuscule, they would have next to no real impact, or else they would imbalance everything.

posted a message on Kanrethad Ebonlocke + Shadow Madness = BUG?

Ok first things first. I've been reading hearthpwn for quite some time but never posted anything and now i would like to thank the community for all the efforts, posts, fun topics, salt threads etc. Much love.

I'll try to explain my concern as brief as i can (although the title pretty much gives it away). I was playing warlock against priest matchup and my opponent stole my Kanrethad Ebonlocke with Shadow Madness. Ok i though, no big deal as the prime version won't ressurect him any demons. But boy was i wrong. He got full value out of prime when he played it even though the card clearly says "Summon 3 friendly demons that died this game" and obviously he played none demons before. The demons ressurected were all played by me during the match. So the question is...is this a bug? Or am i missing something? Why stolen Kanrethad Prime gives value to the opponent while it technically shouldn't?

Thx for replies in advance and sorry for bad english.

are you sure your opponent did not play soul mirror earlier in the game? In that case, this is not a bug.

100% sure. First mirror he plays gives him Prime out of my Ebonlocke and when he plays prime he gets back 3 demons, which i played during the game.

If he played Soul Mirror after you played your prime, then he would have got the 3 demons that your prime summoned also, no? I doubt he killed the 3 minions your prime summoned, and then played Soul Mirror...

posted a message on How is wand into 0 mana rogue gala balanced?

Big plays are more attractive to the mass population of occasional playing, average spending players. Guess who makes up the vast majority of Hearthstones income? They're not going to "outdo" themselves and attract more attention by putting out an expansion of boring cards.

I suggest Gwent for people who don't like Hearthstones direction... You can play all of the 5 cost 5/5 vanilla cards your heart desires

Blizzard is not going to nerf Galakrond or Tog ever, so yes it is unbalanced and it will stay that way.

bet you they hof it a year early like they did with genn n baku

We will see about that lol

Um... I mean, you guys realize that this combo has been around for quite a while right? Heistbaron came out in SoU... Were already 10 months away from they rotating naturally, and SoU came out 10 months ago... The free cards are what makes it a viable tempo deck in this insane value meta. Hunter and DH are still overall performing  better. People constantly cry about Res Priest and Big Druid with 30 minute games, and Tempo Rogues are the only thing keeping them in check

Yes, Rogue can pull 6 x 0 cost cards, but.have you considered how much of Rogue's deck are cheap combo triggers? Yeah, that's right usually that 0 cost card you pull originally costed 0-2...

I don't play Rogue, and it's fine... You're going to get high rolled by Tempo and Combo decks from time to time... It's part of the game.

How about if you don't like a posts subject matter you.................ignore it!  Why is it people act like they are forced to read each post and thread?

How do you know the subject matter before you read the idea exactly?

Post title: "I have a great idea about (subject)!"

Content: *insert stupid nonsense, and inane conspiracy theories*

(To be clear, I'm NOT talking about this thread, this isn't a bad idea, interesting thought acrually)

How would you avoid it? Who thinks, "ugh, great ideas about ***... I HATE interesting ideas about anything!!!"

That's ridiculous. Obviously people can't formulate an opinion on subject matter, until they read the... matter.... within the... subject.

    "Ideas for the meta"

"Not this again... I HATE IDEAS!!!!"

Seriously... Honestly 90% of the time you can assume the content will be stupid, because... Experience... But, as the guy said, once in a while we can be surprized by great ideas... Point is, you never know, until you read it... After that time, you formulate an opinion, and post it if your opinion is important enough to you.

If a post was titled "My theory on the state of closet doors in Ukranian architecture", I might pass on reading it, but unfortunately, thread titles that pop up on the Hearthpwn main page, are rarely that descriptive. Most people click the recent posts that appear there, and despite what responders often think, people usually aren't fishing through obscurely descriptive post subjects... The second I press "Post Reply", this thread will he at the very top of the main site page, and will likely be the first thing anyone who visits this site sees, until there are 4 posts in different threads, with no one posting in this one...

posted a message on The new MMR matchmaking system sux!

If HL Priest is the most popular deck on day 1, day 2 will be full of HL Hunter.... on day 3 everyone will be playing  Murloc Paladin to counter the Hunter... On day 4, everyone will be playing Enrage Warrior to counter the Hunter. On day 5 everyone will be back to Priest to counter the Warrior...

That is how a meta works.

This is how the people work:

Lets use a Priest player starting on meta day 3 for this example...

Day 3, they're killing Murloc Pally... They're the best...

Day 4: Crushing some Warriors... OMG how am I not in the grandmasters tour?!?

Day 1: Hmmm, lots of mirror matches... That's okay, I'm 50/50 today, but after the last 2 days I'm still at like a 65-70% winrate! So I RULE!

Day 2: WTF?!? (heads to message boards), "Blizzard is so f@#* rigged!!! I am a really good player! I was CRUSHING it for 3 straight days, and now I can't BUY a win!!! Blizzard is ONLY matching me against my worst matchup!! I HATE THIS NEW MMR SYSTEM!!!!!"

You don't hate the MMR system.. You hate shifting metas... If you keep playing Priest after day 1, you're OBVIOUSLY going to meet your worst matchup most of the time... and then Halfway through the day, you switch to HL Hunter, and they line you up against a Murloc Paladin... WTF RIGGED!!! Right?... Wrong... Good meta players have already moved on to counter the upcoming HL Hunter phase...

I know, I know, this would all mean you're doing something wrong, and we can't have that... You're the best! It's gotta be rigged.

P.S. The way MMR works, is that day 1 winstreak you had lined you up against good players, so you're spending the next few days playing against people who work with the meta... If you hate MMR, it's because you can't keep up with the players you're pitted against after a good run. That is all MMR does... MMR doesn't care what deck you're playing.

They have a massive esports following... If they were discovered to be manipulating winrates, They'd be ripped a new one... I can't imagine any scenario where rigging outcomes for random players would be beneficial enough to risk the backlash of being caught rigging the software. It's pretty silly.

I hope most of the people who post about the game being rigged are just coming down off a rage quit, and can think more reasonably once they've cooled down... Otherwise they're likely also against vaccines, and hide from airplanes.

i dont get the hate...like, DH is the least RNG dependant class out of all i'd say...with the current casino meta that we're in, this is the only deck u're playing w/o relying on highrolls...

and the fact it was overpowered at the start it's totally normal marketing policy, like what did u expect, for them to release a new class and not to be top dog? why would ppl be interested in spending $$ if the new class would be weaker than what they already knew/played?

really dude, why u lurking in DH forums? just to spew ur frustrations aroud?

You're not simply posting in a DH forum.. Everytime you post, your listing appears on the main Hearthpwn site. I don't think anyone has posted anything positive about DH and not gotten roasted.

Lots of people have pre-nerf PTSD from DH, so... I mean, it had a 70%+ winrate within 3 minutes of the class release, and was pretty busted, so you can hardly blame them...

But yeah, there's a million priests in the meta now, because it's a hard counter to Demon Hunter.

Didn't the dev's announce that conceding early doesn't affect MMR? Conceding with more than 10 (is it 10?) health doesn't count as a "played" game, and so doesn't affect your MMR the same way it doesn't count towards quests...

posted a message on Opinion: They have released the solo adventure way to late this year and here is why:

Pandemic, bi-weekly balance patches for a new class, balancing the new game mode (bg).... They introduced a brand new game mode and a brand new class... Were in the middle of a pandemic where most of the world is operating at about 30% efficiency. How in the world would you expect them to release new solo content on time even without battlegrounds and the new class, I would expect the solo adventure to be a couple weeks late, because just like everything else, the Team 5 headquarters is off limits. Everyone is doing their best from home, and using video conferencing... They've been amazingly on top of balance patches in Play Mode, Battlegrounds and Arena compared to past years. I wouldn't fault them at all If they had to downright cancel the FREE solo adventure. Unfortunately companies work for profits, and T5 have to answer to the Blizzard Shareholders... The shareholders couldn't give a rat's ass about player enjoyment. As they shouldn't. They invest money, to make money, not so we can have fun with it. Team 5 do care about the game, but have to focus their resources according to the shareholders.

I can guarantee the Solo Adventure is at the bottom of the priority list.

Disingenous is the correct word, but it is funny how upset you get. I love that a brand new account just appears who has the same certainty and makes the same arguments as the 5k post accounts who went noticeably silent. Who again is going to sue them based on an interview from 2017? Blizzard just updated their matchmaker to make it more 'fun' 'engaging' or whatever euphamism blizzard is currently using for rigged.

Investors want profits, corporations exist, blizzard is currently going to court over their loot box systems, they give symposiums on how to use the matchmaker to maximize 'engagement'. You hang your argument on the dire consequences on what would happen if everyone found out. Bruh, the cat is out of the bag, it has been for Candy Crush, it is for EA, it is for Activision. The current state of matchmaking and game balance is an obvious attempt to stimulate spending, to believe anything else is foolishness. But it's ok bud, I know you are scared of this happening again

    https://www.pcgamesn.com/hearthstone/blizzard-job-listing

"Brand new account?" Look at my profile, genius. Do you see the place where it says "Member for 4 years?" That means I was here while you were in kindergarten. Or is it your deranged belief that I'm a "sleeper account" that only now, because you're onto us, has been turned on? ("Attention, Blizzard control. This is secret agent #3546, aka TallStranger. For the next two weeks, make sure that username tinfoilhatilluminati draws nothing but control Priests who rope every turn. We gotta get this guy off our tail. He knows too much.")

Notable you didn't address the specific quote from McCall. Probably because it's beyond your understanding. Let me type slower, so you can follow. Suppose I invest millions of dollars in a company that advertises its products as 100% natural. Company does well, so I'm happy. THEN, a senior manager comes out and admits that this claim is completely untrue, and always has been. Stock price plummets, and the feds start an investigation (false advertising, securities fraud, etc.). My investment loses 3/4 of its value overnight. Do you know how fast I'd be suing?

All it would take is one former Blizzard employee to reveal this fact to devastate the company. Those are facts. I'm sorry they don't line up with your fever swamp delusions about how big companies actually operate, but those of us with experience in the real world know better.

That said, I can't blame the others for giving up. You can't have a logical argument with someone who a) can't provide real evidence for his claim and b) insists his opponent prove a negative. They're better off trying to argue with their toaster.

Keep going with your fake scenario. King is still in business, EA is still in business. Blizzard will still be in business. I am just hoping to keep kids from falling for the manipulative tactics they use that you are so motivated to cover up.

Hahaha yeah. Good comparison... When I hit a frusteration wall, first thing I want to do is buy more packs... Oh wait. No one had EVER said that... Personally, I spend when I'm enjoying the game and want to play more decks... Which I'm guessing is the business model.

Micro transactions work, because you can progress a little bit, for a little bit of money. This doesn't even come close to applying in Hearthstone... You spend and have a vast array of decks, or you don't... That's it.

Did you happen to note that 2 of the top decks are DH (the new set they just gave away) and Face Hunter (so budget it's ridiculous)... After that, the top decks are Highlander... Spending a few bucks will not get you a Highlander deck... Are you seriously suggesting that Blizzard's plan is to get F2P players frustrated, so they spontaneously go out and spend $120 for the 10k dust they would need to make one of the other decks? That isn't how frustration based pay walls work, and suggesting otherwise is downright stupid.

Might be time to recharge the tinfoil in your hat. I think it's leaking.
