Plan for a game that goes into fatigue. Save Alex for the end, limit your draws from Acolyte, and get into Shadowreaper Anduin ASAP so you can keep their armor low/gone.

I do believe the 2x Pyro is good. Not just for clearing Paladin boards, but also because you need some aggressive creatures if you want to win against Quest Rogue.

This deck is insanely good. I have never felt such satisfaction from playing a deck since Secret Paladin. It feels like you always have an ace up your sleeve.

Against Quest Rogue you have to get aggressive from the start. I'm 3-2 against them right now with this deck. Drop those Wild Pyro and Squashlings on curve and race them. Baku Warrior you're in for the long game. Prepare for it to go to fatigue and plan accordingly. 5-1 against Baku Warrior.

Voodoo Doll seems like a better choice than Nightmare Amalgam. It's removal for five mana that gives you a Water Elemental. One less elemental synergy, but if that's what you're going for I'd rather play the second Glacial Shard

The problem with Bittertide Hydra is that it will lose you the game against aggro decks. Hydra works far better in aggro decks who always go face and force their opponents to deal with their minions. Tempo doesn't do that.

Kabal Lackey is a pretty weak play because Mage secrets aren't very aggressive. Lackey would be great in Hunter, but in Mage there's nothing you want to Counterspell or Mirror Entity before turn 3 so you're often playing a turn 1 2/1 which isn't terribly impressive. Breath of Sindragosa fits the deck better if you're not terribly keen on Babbling Book and want more board control.

But if they don't have Keleseth in their opening hand it's an auto-win for you. Keleseth Rogue relies too much on that singleton in their deck. If they do get it, congratulate your opponent and move on. You can't win every match.

Rank 8 before nerfs and not much grinding. It should be easier now after nerfs.

posted a message on Why is everyone against Priest? (Especially Kazakus Priest)

The problem with Razakus Priest seen from the eyes of a midrange/control Mage is that it's incredibly boring to play against. It boils down to whether or not Shadowreaper Anduin is in the top 20 cards of their deck. If it is, they win. If it's not, they lose. I'll play Druids all day long before I want to play games against Priest. At least against Druid it feels like we're playing a game together. Shadowreaper Anduin is a busted card. A hero power should never inherently refresh itself.

posted a message on [Meta-Breaking] Elemental Mage

As someone who consistently gets to rank 2-5 with Mage decks (never broke that Legend *tear*), I can say this deck does not work. I have been trying every incarnation of Elemental Mage possible.

Aggro runs you over without Volcanic Potion, but is useless in every other matchup
Priest is almost guaranteed an auto loss - their end game is strictly better and you'll rarely be able to race them in time
Jade Druid will always win if that single Skulking Geist is in the bottom 10 cards of your deck

The awkward thing is that Druid has two really strong decks that will usually beat you. They have aggro tokens and jade. Mulligan to beat one means the other one beats you. Choose wisely.

I'm not saying the deck isn't good, but I'm stuck hopping between ranks 10 and 12 with Elemental Mage. The only decks this consistently beats is pirate warrior (a dying breed), Shamans, Warlocks, and Paladins (that aren't murlocs).

The deck actually works better when you drop the less useful murlocs and non-murlocs. Load up on any random spells which will only keep stat boosting murlocs to draw up every turn.

Oracle, Tidecaller, Bluegill, Bilefin Tidehunter, Oracle, Seer, Warleader, Lookout, and Old Murk-Eye were the only ones I used.

posted a message on [S26 Legend] Midrange Hunter

I've been playing a Mid-Range Hunter deck since Whispers released and found a lot of success. This list isn't bad (minus a few preference calls all these Hunters function the same). Call me crazy if you want, but couldn't we cut out Unleash the Hounds? Zoo is no longer popular so it's not an auto include and it's actually really bad against everything but the mirror and sometimes Shaman. It just feels so lackluster holding a card in hand that literally never gets played in most matchups because they only play one or two things at a time or against Patron Warrior where they want you to Unleash. It's commonly coming down as an overpriced Stonetusk Boar.

Part of me feels like adding some more tempo in at the three cost would be more beneficial. Obviously it makes you much worse against Zoo and Murloc/Divine Shield Paladin, but those are so rare that it might be worth considering to skew the numbers ever so slightly in our favor in other matchups.

The problem with putting Ragnaros in a Hunter deck is that you want to be playing Call of the Wild instead. It seems really awkward to play him and leave King's Elekk at only one copy.

This deck has so many awkward and unplayable turns. Twilight Summoner will almost always just lose you the board so I replaced it with Tomb Pillager.

I took out Edwin and added Sir Finley because there isn't enough cheap stuff in the deck to even consistently get him to a 6/6 and the dagger power is near useless.

Dark Iron Skulker is too low value and slow at one copy so replaced it with Shadow Strike to deal with beefy minions. Even Zoo plays Councilman so there's a good target for it in every matchup.

Those are just my initial reactions, but I'm sure after a few more games I'm going to want to replace some other stuff because this deck just has a horrible habit of having a bunch of 4-6 cost cards clogging up your hand.
