Neichus posted a message on Dragonz'rillaPosted in: Dragonz'rillaI am very interested in this deck. I have been trying to make a control-ish Hunter work for some time, but all my efforts have been pretty dismal failures.
What I like most about this deck is that you eschew healing and Sir Finley Mrrgglton in favor of trying to make Hunter work on its own terms, which is more tempo-aggression while still focusing on the board like a control deck. This makes the prospect doubly exciting for me as I think this is the direction Blizzard has been trying to take the class: give them non-aggro options, but on their own terms so we don't just have a Hunter version of Control Warrior or Control Priest.
Also, even without playing the deck I can attest to Gladiator's Longbow. I occasionally get it out of Lock and Load and it has performed very well when I have.

lHlakai posted a message on Dragonz'rillaPosted in: Dragonz'rillaI encourage you to experiment with that. I am not running Sir Finley Mrrgglton in this deck for a few reasons.
The hunter hero power is actually very strong because it allows you to change your role and tempo as needed. There are times when you want to or need to be a HUNTER and slam that hero power to apply pressure. The deck is constructed in such a way that you tend to feel the need to control the board at all times, but actually sometimes the correct play is to go face.
Because of that dance between rush and control within the same deck, I never gave any thought at all to changing the hero power and become all control. Because that's what changing the Hunter hero power would do, it would take away that rush option. No hero power compares. All that said though, I won't allow Finley to go untested. It's a great time for decks in Hearthstone with all these new mechanics and abilities.
Important Note: The ability to switch between aggressive and control at the right moment is where the difficulty presents itself with the deck. It is something you have to work at and hopefully master. Matchups change greatly once you get a handle on this.

There really isn't much of a replacement for Justicar Trueheart since she improves the core function of the deck: keeping your minions alive/doing damage with Auchenai Soulpriest. If you must replace her, I used Faceless Manipulator for a while to "copy" big charge minions or end of turn effect minions. You could always use Entomb to steal your opponent's Justicar. I see it mostly with Control Warriors and Mid Range Paladins. Be careful not to use both entombs on the Mid Range Paladin until you see them play Tirion Fordring.

(81% win rate!)you do realize that almost every deck is almost a carbon copy of another, very rarely does anyone make a deck that is even 30% unique, people need to get over this you copied someone elses list and changed X cards thing its really boring.

Thanks for sharing.
Feels cheap to win by the KT bug, but, I cannot fathom it happening otherwise.

Persephonee posted a message on Swapping MrglrglsPosted in: Swapping MrglrglsHad to mention how baller this deck worked. I didn't have enough of the cards in the other decks so I tried this budgety one. I didn't have Mistress of Pain or Puddlestomper so I replaced them with Curse of Rafaam (2 mana replacement that can stack in damage fast or delayhis curve) and Murloc Tinyfin for its murloc synergy.
I managed to win pretty convincingly on my 2nd try (the first he got coin aberration which is auto forfeit with this deck), and in my win I didn't get a single permanent buff. Every time I dropped warleader, oracle, etc. he would single target spell removal like polymorph or pact to get rid of it. I still managed to win with 15 hp (8 of which was taken by my hero power to keep flooding the board).
Mulligan - just shoot for an early curve.
P.S. I found he trades with minions a lot, so I pretty much went all face unless it was a taunt or something favorable like flesheating ghoul 1 for 1. I also had to clear my whole board against a belcher and still won. AND he duplicated voidwqalker and played 4 in 2 turns. I won with literally everything going wrong but aberrations.

Banquetto posted a message on Heroic - Rafaam UnleashedPosted in: Heroic - Rafaam UnleashedDropped the Auchenai Soulpriest (no idea what he was doing in the deck) and the legendaries I didn't own for a Big Game Hunter and a Faceless Manipulator and some random stuff, eventually got the win when I got lucky with my steals and copies.

Just a thought, using Sir Finley Mrrrrglton could help this deck a bit. The hunter's hero power is not very beneficial to control decks such as this, since it only hits face for 2 damage. There is potential hero powers such as Life Tap, for resources, and Armor Up/Lesser Heal for stalling. Also Shapeshift/Fireblast for direct removal of small minions or finishing off bigger minions. Looks like a tight deck list, but Finley could be a great tech idea.

Completely destroyed a mech mage after MCT a piloted shredder :)
I did trade Piloted Skygolem for Justicar, since i didn't have it. Also, I traded Tirion for an avenge for same reason.

Sick, I have had many tries with this boss, (all fails) until I came across this deck. First try, killed him :) Thanks to the AI he never targeted Animated Armor/Kel Thuzad directly with minions and kept hitting face. Much thanks, just need to finish off Rafaam Unleashed and I'll have the expansion completely done :)

I beat Kel' Thuzad today using a type of budget priest deck, with techs in it. The whole point of the deck was to keep board control and get a huge minion (I got a 12/12 Stoneskin Gargoyle on T4) until you got to phase 2, where you play Majordomo Executus, he uses chains, then you finish the combo with Shadow Word: Death, and 2 Mindblast.
I actually didn't end up doing the combo, but he used Twisting Nether while he was out on my side, and I became Ragnaros. Top Decked every necessary card to deal with threats and win the game at that point. Got lucky with hero power targeting a Spectral Knight, using SW:P and D on a Frost Elemental and Zombie Chow as soon as he sent them out, Top decked Silence when he played Belcher... won the turn afterwards.
