s1ayer85 posted a message on Whats wrong with arena in boomsdayPosted in: The ArenaSo you now just can't draw 3x Blizzards or Steeds or Silverswords+Vinecleavers to faceroll over the games straightforward?)
Arena moved to more minion heavy and thats cool. This is more skillbased for proper and balanced drafting, instead of simply searching for overpowered spells with overpowered classes.

CypherBenkes posted a message on Millhouse Omegastorm a possibility?Posted in: General Discussion"Omega Project - These cards are normal, but have a Battlecry that works when you have 10 Mana Crystals."
This is written in the expansion teaser post here at Hearthpwn. The classic line being "Just wait until I have 10 mana!"
With a Mecha-Jaraxxus coming along with this set, and with Millhouse having originally summoned Jaraxxus in that arena, I can't help but feel like we're going to see Millhouse return.Anyone have any theories, or a custom card, showcasing what exactly they believe this new Millhouse could look like? I think it's exciting to think on.
EDIT: I am a special boy who forgets things like which short bastard summoned which tall bastard. Thank you Skorpionex. Now, if you could please hand me my special boy helmet.

Hearthstone is overpriced it's hard to justify spending any money on the game.

Slain posted a message on Hearthstone Tavern Talk: Bringing Back Heroes, Balance Frequency, Community Card ArtPosted in: NewsInstead of nerfing cards I actually just want counterplay. But some cards/interactions atm just doesnt have an answer.
I want a counter card to hand hoarding like dirty rat in the basic set. I want an actual card that resets opponents hero power to basic hero power and i want a silence and destroy a weapon card.
Cards need to have answers and blizzard slept on this. As for now i just play my dayly quest and proceede to play other games but i would prefer to actually have fun in hearthbstone again.

I just tried it. It was Corruption. The trigger does not appear in the log, only the cast.
The screenshots are in the wrong order, but that doesn't matter. Here is what happened:
Opponents T4: Casts Corruption on Twilight Drake - cast appears in questlog, but isn't visible anymore in the log in the screenshots.
OPs T4: Plays Explosive Sheep, Drake attacks the Nerubian Egg, Zombie Chow attacks the 4/4 Nerub (-> 4/2), plays Mortal Coil on his own Sheep to clear the Nerub. Twilight Drake remains as 4/5. End turn.
Opponents T5: Corruption triggers and kills the Drake, no log entry is generated for that.
OP just didn't notice the cast of Corruption.

Where's the problem?
Get 5 gold twice and you got 10. If they'd just cut all gold rewards like 35 to 30, 55 to 50 and so on, you'd just get some gold less, which makes some packs in the long run.

Well... if you weren't a mod, I'd think you're a troll now...
Are you serious?

This. Well said.

I disagree. It is not about the competitive scene. It is about the general principle behind it.
Until now, they really cared not to powercreep anything. Shredder can be silenced, Yeti can't. Heck, even Boom is kinda vulnerable to Rend Blackfist and Neruban Weblord where War Golem is not.
Now, it is the FIRST set, where they basically said: Screw it. We start powercreeping with useless cards, and see how the community reacts. I really hope these discussions are enough to oppose further bullshit like this.
The problem is not that the formerly unplayable cards get replaced by a bit less unplayable cards, the problem is the general idea behind it. If they can do it with useless cards (for no reason as they could buff the old cards instead), why shouldnt they do it with better cards some day in the future?
1
You totally missed my point. I do not care about these cards in special, the problem is that they changed their mind and made powercreeps possible. This will not be limited to Magma Rager and BBB, and at some point WILL make a difference. Look a Yu-Gi-Oh. The first set had cards that were good at the time released, that were horrible two years later, as they have been powerceeped A LOT. You can't rebalance cards that were printed, but you can in a pure digital CCG. There is just not a single reason for powercreeping if you can just rebalance the cards that already exist. It just increases the cardpool without adding more possibilities, without any benefits, without anything. There is no reason why completely superior cards should exist, period.
If you say that cards like BBB have no reason to exist anyway this is wrong, because it is just your opinion. New players with only basic cards actually will use BBB as it is not that horrible if you have no access to better cards. Also, new players do not realize instantly that Senjin is much better, because they don't know how important high health is for taunts.

I could not care less what any of the so called "pros" thinks, and it is a HUGE mystery to me why there are people who do. Hearthstone is not a game for pros, heartstone is RNG based.
Take a game like Starcraft. There is basically no RNG, and you will lose 100% of the games against a pro, if you aren't one yourself.
Take Hearthstone and the same deck as the so called "pro". I'll have a 50% win rate in the long run, and many, many other players aswell... So why the heck would I care what a random other player who is just as good as me thinks about the expansion?
1
No point arguing and still replying, that's interesting.
Poker is totally different, as it is very complex, unlike hearthstone, as you have hard decisions every turn and you can pass if you consider your odds not to be in favour.
Compare that to constructed hearthstone. All decisions you make are almost always either OBVIOULSY correct or OBVIOUSLY a misplay to anyone who is comfortable calling himself a well experienced, good player. I'm totally willing to bet money that I'd get a 50:50 against any of the so-called pros in the long run with any given deck that I had some time to play to get experience with it. I am not trying to say they are not good players, but I am trying to say there are many, many thousands of other players who are just as good. If not hundred-thousands.
I wrote Starcraft instead of chess as it is another Blizzard game, and then either your "pro" wasn't one, your "pro" wasn't playing in tryhard mode, or you spent ridiculous amounts of time with that game that you are somewhere near the pro levels. I don't know and I don't care. No one with some brain and average Starcraft experience will expect to stand a chance against any Starcraft player that has been World Champion or won other big tournaments.
And HS? If you think these pros actually play better than you, you simply are not a good player. It does not take that long to understand the game inside out. After you saw a few turns, you know what cards are in their deck, you know how to play your deck, you know how to play around as good as possible, and that's already it.
Arena is different, this requires a lot more skill (guess what, I go infinite).
Your last sentence already disqualifies you as a good player. Even wondered why it is not the same few "pro" players every season who make out spots 1-100 among each other? No? Maybe you should.
And if you ever had been legend yourself, you'd know yourself it is pretty much all about time you play and lucky matchups.

Pffff. The only reason prepurchase exists is that Bli$$ard realized they can sell a whole shitload of virtual goods more if they call it a special offer (which basically is just a get-20%-more) and add another cardback...

I wouldn't complain about the chance to choose from Tavern Brawl, but I think arena is different. You pay gold to play it, basically you buy a pack and pay 50 gold for the arena run. Now if that is random, you only have a 1/3 chance to get the pack you want.
If it is better to still play arena or buy packs depends on your arena average and the amount of TGT cards you already have at the time of decision. I will definitely start grinding arena again after the first big opening.
