$5000 is where the real whales come, $1000 is small whale :) I have spent over $100 and so have many others on this game so far. If the upcoming expansion is good and balanced, I might buy that too.
Unless BGH is nerfed, don't expect to see 7+ attack minions outside handlock and control Warrior. Boom was so broken OP that he was an autoinclude and the only big minion in most decks too. Many decks won't run 7+ attack because 5 or 6 attack is simply better thanks to BGH being broken. But without Boom, alot of neutral and class legendaries will see play again. Cenarius is one such example.
Gorehowl could be really good if the meta slows and probably better than Geddon which just dies to BGH. Gladiator longbow may replace Boom in hunters as a finisher or to remove two midsized threats. Sunwalker is probably still too weak, but we may get a decent 5 or 6 drop with taunt. Faceless could be a decent 5 drop in a slow meta so you can copy yours or opponent's big minions. Cairne probably will be a decent tier 2 option unless we get an insane 6 drop. Dark iron and harvest golem will make a comeback in many decks, that I agree.
He's being banned to the wild wastelands where even Boom defenders will eventually grow bored of and join the rest of us in standard format. If the next expansion doesn't have any broken OP neutral cards(or they get nerfed fast) standard will be wonderful and this game will be fun and balanced again.
Dr.Boom will be replaced with a card that Dr. Boom replaced - Good old rag. So BGH will still stay the same because of rag.
Then I won't play any 7+ attack minions. Ragnaros is tier 3 right now and there's much better big minions that also duck BGH, even Sneed's is better but he's being rotated out. Blizzard is nerfing a dozen cards from basic/classic and we have requested BGH be nerfed too.
BGH will always be played. As soon as something like Fireguard starts to see play. BGH needs to go away. Check out Brian Kibler's video on the whole Standard/Wild thing. He even mentions BGH.
And how us common mortals are expected to deal with all the giants and other giant things? Insta-concede when you drop them? We need generic removal, and BGH needs to stay. At most you can make him cost 4-5 mana with appropriate stats to cut the tempo loss, at most.
If giants are going to be a problem after BGH is nerfed, then either nerf giants or give them "giant" tribe and make BGH only able to kill giants.
Either way Cairne Bloodhoof's 4 attack is still too low imo for a six-drop.
If Ysera is playable as a 9 drop, no reason Cairne isn't. With loatheb, shredder, sky golem and sludge gone, Cairne can do alot more. But it does depend on what 6 drops we get in the upcoming expansion.
It is a Legendary, and legendary means, you can only have one of them in a deck.
Compared with an other 7 drop (War Golem) there is no way to think he is overpowered.
Both cards have the same stats, only the legendary has a special effect. And this it what legendarys are, they have special effects and can somehow win you the game.
So if you are talking about nerfing Dr. Boom. Please nerf Tirion Fordring. an 8 drop which gives you a minion with 6/6, Divine Shield and Taunt and also gives you a weapon with stats 5/3. And also like boom, he can win you the game.
Please just stop complaining about how OP Dr. Boom is.
Being a legendary is not a valid excuse for a card to be stronger.
Boom defenders are illogical and overlook the fact Boom outperforms 8 and 9 drops. Now with formats, we can all move on and enjoy a huge variety of legendaries in our decks instead of Boom in every deck.
Should I be angry that I am FTP and have saved for 1600 dust for boom for months now? I crafted him two weeks ago, put him in all mah decks, all happy like, and BOOM (pun intended), he is now wild mode trash. I feel kinda cheated - I was prepared for a nerf and full value back, but no.
Everyone and their grandmother spent 1600 or 3200 dust to craft Boom. Play wild mode if you like games being decided by whoever plays Boom first. I for one am so sick and tired of Boom that it's a dream to see him banned to the wild wastelands. :)

Yes, a legendary should have a special effect, but it should still be logically balanced. There's no logical balancing comparing war golem to Dr.Boom, Dr.Boom is simply waaay better. The fact that he summons two dudes and those dudes deal random damage is his special effect, but it doesn't mean that he should be so strong.
Boom has completely dominated the game for over a year but his evil reign is coming to an end, at least in standard mode.
There's dozens of different ways Boom can be nerfed but until that happens, future expansions will be a failure and other big legendaries simply won't see much play. We all saw what happened with TGT. Boom outperforms 8 and 9 drops so as a result, no one plays them other than Tirion and Grommash.
I am not buying anymore expansions till Blizzard balances their games and nerfs OP cards, especially Boom. There will be new card games out there and we will be moving on. I don't see Hearthstone surviving longterm without balance patches.
Whoever plays Boom first is more likely to win, he will just go face with Boom and ignore yours. I am still salty over losing several games to Boom last night :( nerf please!
You could probably cut out Sylvanas for this guy. I don't run Sylvanas anymore because she gets played around too easily and even if I steal, it's often just a 1/1.
I agree with you, Murloc Pally is way more broken than entomb priest. In fact entomb is bad in this fast meta. Death/BGH does the same job vs. big threats for half the cost and lightbomb>entomb by a mile. Until Blizzard nerfs OP cards, the meta will just keep getting worse and more people will quit or not buy more expansions.
Disenchanted Golden Grommish :( :( didn't knew the game back then.
Ironically, I'm saving dust atm to craft him..
I have a friend who did the same thing, he regrets it and ended up crafting a nongold Grom. 1600 dust down the drain. I never DE nonduplicates and don't regret any crafts. But I am sad black knight and Sneed's arent meta right now, but they were worth my 3200 dust back then.

Boom is currently at 46.31% of decks so this is the best news in Hearthstone history! :)

I still say make him 9 mana since Boom outperforms other 8 and 9 drops. An 8 mana Boom is still OP!

Wait for upcoming expansion, if he's still useless then DE him and craft some OP legendary or Boom if you don't yet have him.
