I usually play standard, but I know that supplementing Arena into my play time and getting better at it will yield better rewards in the long run. I use HearthArena for drafting my deck, however, and I know this is due to my inexperience as an Arena player, I can't seem to break 3-4 wins. Last run I had a 75 point priest deck and I didn't even break 3 wins with it (which is incredibly frustrating). I'm trying to keep cool regarding the situation but I feel my frustrations mounting (I'm looking at you Vicious Fledgling). Anyway, I'm here to ask if there may be a consistent Arena player that could talk me through a run or two on what I should be looking for, maybe give me insight on some plays that I would not have thought of during the run, etc. I do want to get better but I feel like I have stagnated. To be fair I have only been playing Arena for a few weeks, so it might be presumptuous to expect too much too soon. In standard I usually get down to about rank 10, but I'm trying to push to 5 this season and if I get there soon enough to grind to legend. Thanks for any and all help that you guys can give.
P.S. - I have been watching streams and VOD's too (maybe I'm too dense for this game mode).
draft rogue arenas I consistently get 7-9 wins wit rogue. Try looking for backstabs, eviscerates, the combo assassinate minion and envenom weapon. I would rate rogue as one of the best arena classes atm.
The only classes with over 50% winrate in arena are Mage, Priest and Paladin, so the first step is to always pick one of those if you can :P
Idk what kind of arena you are playing m8. But the classes you want to pick for arena are either mage or rogue THEN paladin. Besides a semi decent arena player will always have above ~50 % win rate regardless of the deck or class. Except with warrior... That class is just sad in arena.
I just said that they all have over 50% winrate, which is a global number of course, it wasn't an attempt at a tier list :>
Either watch them yourself or post them here. Watching your plays with a cool head is the best way to progress, luck of the draft and luck of the draw are a important factor in Arena. Sometime you will see streamer doing a 1/3 with a really good deck and I made my highest win count (8) with an aggro rogue I wanted to retire without playing. I just run into a string of deck which did not draft AOE.
Draft a Arena deck, at each game you lose, stop five minutes, re-watch the game and try to see what could have been done better.
A general advice before starting your first game :
How do I win with this deck ?
Which card are do I want to always keep on mulligan
Which card do I keep in specific match up (ex: don't keep or play cards with 2 attack against priest unless you have no other choice in the deck
The perfect mulligan against priest is completely different than the one you want against mage or rogue
Priest can abuse any 2 attack minion to clear your beard but cannot ping
Rogue, mage, druid can ping
Shaman has a two turn 2 weapon with 2 attack, sometime it may be better to mulligan a 2 health minion away trying to got a 3 health to avoid him getting too much value from his weapon
etc etc
Being too greedy with the mulligan in arena is as punishing as in ladder but with ladder you can follow a guide / learn which cards are better in which match up. In arena this work has to be done for every deck.
Alright, as evidenced by my earlier post in this forum, complete Arena newb here. How do you record games? This is the second forum that references this. I have a couple programs that let me watch games back but if I don't know what mistakes are, how does that help me? Watching myself suck again will just make me mad.
To my knowledge the best replay soft available for hearthstone. You can try watching your self, because that soft gives you a re-constitution of you opponent hand you can easily recognize what was your mistakes.
The second advantage is that you can post the link of the match on this thread and then everyone can see the match up. From there we can tell you which plays were wrong and how you win rate can be improved.
For instance you can see here the thread of an other beginner who got some advice here
Thanks for the great feedback. Sorry for being so salty in earlier posts but I really am interested in learning and getting better. I'm going to try to play an arena tonight and I'll post a new thread with the games so I can get some good constructive feedback from y'all!

If you want someone to spectate your run you need to state your region. Alternatively record a run so we can all comment on it.

Sorry I did not mention, I'm NA server. DapperChap#1638
Step 1: read up on all the arena guides and tierlists.
Step 2: watch countless hours of streamers.
Step 3: ...
Step 4: PROFIT!!!!
Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
Best is to record some games.
