So last night I had this 5-3 run with mage. At 4-2 I encountered this rogue which happened to draft Anub'arak, Hogger and Dr. Boom in his deck. I was like " Holy shxt this guy is so lucky!" *whines like Kripp*. In contrast, I was using an average mage deck with no Flamestrike and only have 1 Firelands Portal which I didn't draw the entire game. So of course his deck has crazy value. I had a bit of luck when his Oil landed on the 1/1 and I got a Sen'jin Shieldmasta when he dropped Dr. Boom on the board. Overall I won because I tried to maximize each turn's tempo and he misplayed when he used Ice Block but not putting his Ogre Ninja on the field, giving me a chance to put out my small minions onto the board and steamroll him. If he went face in the mid game I think he would have won, but I can't blame him for playing around Flamestrike and Mind Control Tech.
I figured out this match can really show that having some legendaries does not necessarily win you the game. You just need to stay calm, play your outs and try to use tempo to beat your opponent's value. Hope this match teaches you guys a lesson.
That's an "average" Mage deck for you? Can we swap arena drafts? Nice curve, nice removal, nice value.. good deck. No flamestrike, sure, but everything else is nice.

You can say this mage deck is above average but it's not insane. Consider that I went second and he dropped a one drop and Defias Ringleader. I have to play well and use everything to get back the board.
