I personally have an XDM compact 0.45. I got it because every review had nothing but positive things to say about it as a conceal carry. It's a little hard on the hands shooting dozens of rounds. But I got a big .45 that I can conceal and it's just an amazing thing to shoot. I decided on .45 as a general all around bad ass gun. Don't have to worry about hollow points. I believe a regular .45 beats a 9mm hollow point.
I've only got 1 gun currently. I don't make enough to collect. I just have 1 for personal defense.
All replies that were not discussing which guns they have were removed.
This thread is very clearly just about which guns people have, and of course, discussion between 'em. This thread is not: "Murica", political bashing, or being silly. Those who go off-topic will receive a warning.
Oh lord, well I'm a federal firearms dealer so I'll just limit this to handguns ;p
For revolvers I have a Heritage Arms Rough Rider with 22lr and 22wmr cylinders, a Taurus Ultra-lite 85 .38spl that I bought for the wife, a Taurus Judge Public Defender .45lc/410 gauge, a Colt Python .357 mag, and a Beretta Stampede Inox .45 colt in case I have to shoot, you know, a rabid bear. I'm not a big revolver shooter but it's a nice change of pace, and the 38 is a nice backup ankle carry, or what have you.
For semis I have a Beretta 84bb double stack .380acp, a Glock 19 9mm, a Sig Sauer P228/M11 9mm (reeeaaaally nice shooter), a Daewoo DH40 triple action .40S&W, a Rock Island M1911A1 compact .45acp, and a Colt Delta Elite 10mm 1911 which is probably the best shooting handgun I've ever owned. I've bought and sold a lot but these are mostly pieces that I plan to keep, as they are have some sort of different use for me in various situations.
I have the 380 because it's light and a nice pocket carry, plus low recoil if the wife wants to shoot it. The 9mms are generally my carry guns, they're fairly cheap to shoot and I keep a few thousand rounds around (plus I have a 9mm AR-15 that takes Glock mags so that's a whole other world of fun). The Daewoo 40 is a really cool gun (look up triple action handguns, they're a blast) and the 40 offers a bit more penetration and stopping power than the 9mm. I actually used to have an XD45 but decided to stick with the 1911 instead just because I prefer the 1911 design in a 45, and the 10mm 1911 is just a great, great shooter. The Delta Elite has a double spring and keeps you on target and that thing is accurate as HECK. The 10mm is basically just a longer 40 S&W, and in fact the 40 S&W round was developed by shortening the 10mm acp cartridge. You use the same bullet when reloading either of them.
....and then I have ~some long guns~ but that's a conversation for another day xD

You have a 10mm (drools)... How do you like it? I'd love one, but I can't justify it in my head since I don't reload (yet), and most ammo on market (ie sold locally) isn't better than the .40 Short and Wimpy.

Come to VT. Easiest state to purchase guns with no wait period.
Do you mean for handguns, long guns, or both? In NC you don't need a wait period for long guns. You'll just have to pass a background check at time of purchase. For pistols you'll have to get a pistol purchase permit at your local Sheriff's office, which takes a couple weeks. Unless you have a concealed carry license, which is good for 5 years, then you can purchase any pistol at time of checkout without having to pass a background check or waiting for a purchase permit.
Also, what are places you are allowed to carry and not carry? In NC a law passed in October 23. We can now bring handguns to places that charge admission (like theaters), places that sell and consume alcohol on the premises (of course you can't be under the influence of alcohol), and we can take them on school property as long as you leave it locked in your vehicle. Used to not be able to even stop on school property of police pulled you over. You had to drive out the school zone. Couldn't even pick your kid up with a gun in the car, now you can.
In VT you don't need any permits. It's probably one of the most relaxed states as far as gun purchases go because it's all rural except for Burlington. You can also get pistols under the age of 21 if someone "gifts" it to you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Vermont
You can get a pistol in NC under 21 if someone gifts it to you too, just can't carry it (say for example your father dies and passes his gun down to you).
Is there anywhere else you can't carry except school or courthouses? Can't even bring it on school property in your car? That wiki page isn't very specific.
PA is pretty "easy" for purchasing as well. No wait period, just pass the background check. Less paperwork for long guns.
I have my Glock 19 and S&W .380 bodyguard for concealed carry, swapping out depending on weather. Rest of the collection includes my S&W .38 snubbie, Para 1911 (every gun owner needs a 1911), Henry .22 lever action, Mossberg 12 gauge and customized S&W M&P 15.

School is a no go even in your car I believe. Most states consider a loaded firearm concealed if in your vehicle within reach.
I'm not sure but post offices may be off limits as well. Businesses can post that they dont allow guns, bars and restaurants that serve alcohol usually post it. Not that businesses would know how if you are carrying concealed, its mostly to protect themselves should something happen.
I don't really have a good reason for owning it <snip>. It's human nature. Don't lie and say it's for self defense because it's mostly not. We were competitive and violent before guns and still are after guns.

Maye in your state, but as I said NC passed a law October 2013 that now you can bring a gun on school property as long as it is locked in your vehicle. (I think it has to be in your trunk, or if you don't have a trunk then out of reach say in the back)
And the "no weapons allowed" sign won't protect a business. My city had signs like that posted a decade or 2 ago. Couple businesses did get robbed. Some citizens sued the business because the "no weapons allowed" sign meant they can't protect themselves so the businesses were responsible for their safety, i.e. hiring security guards. They won in court too. Needless to say, almost every business immediately took those signs down.

The 10 is awesome but mostly because I have a friend who reloads 10mm, 45 Colt and 44 Mag for me and in exchange I save him all my brass, so I get better charged loads than factory. Rock Island makes a 10mm now that isn't much more than $600, so you might wanna look into it. I'd shy away from the Glock 10mm with reloads though since the recoil is much easier to handle on the 1911 platform.
I have a Kimber TLE 2 1911 .45 for my range gun/home protection. Thinking about getting a m&p shield 9mm for carry or a cz 75 idk the shield is easier to conceal but the Cz is a better shooter.

Lots of guys like their .45s, tho TBH I'm eyeing .40 S&W handguns since ammo is plentiful since the feds all use it. XDM's feel real nice too. :)

I'm a bit skeptical of a semi-auto shotty for ~$400, but the reviews on this are looking good: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/07/foghorn/gun-review-linberta-sa01lstac20-shotgun/
Unless someone talks me out of it I might just pick one up at that price.
Unless explicitly stated, my posts are my opinion and mine only.
Sounds pretty cool. I kinda want a shotgun, but don't really see a use for it.
Also, I wouldn't consider it $400. By the time you pay tax, shipping, and FFL transfer fees it'll probably add another $100.
