I'm hosting a contest to create a fun pirate themed themed deck. Winner will receive $20 Battle.net gift card. Fun means just that: Fun. Doesn't have to be a consistent winner.
Entries will be allowed for exactly 1 week. That's until 11:50 PM Eastern Time, September 21st.
Try to use all the base pirate cards. Bonus points if you can get ETC in there. I have a golden copy and like to show him off.
Modified the Rogue Aggro deck I've been using, where instead of bursting with a lot of Charge minions, you keep your board alive by trading with your weapons and misc. removal spells.
Some pirates just didn't make the cut, such as One-Eyed Cheat (too vulnerable to AoE, ping'd / Muster'd if played on curve), Southsea Captain (Dealer and SI:7 are better 3-drops), or Salty Dog (BGH target). Instead, most pirates dominate the early game, hoping to do sustained damage each turn. A lot of weapon synergy, even as far as including Blingtron 3000.
Couldn't fit in the bonus point ETC, but if I were to include him I'd switch one of the 5-drops and switch something else for Fan of Knives (becoming both draw and AoE, esp. against I Am Murloc). That Blingtron's gonna be just as fun though.
I tried to do something a little wacky—a combo deck where you keep the board clear with your weapons and play a couple healing minions to keep your life up, then unload a giant Ship's Cannon combo in the late game,Vanish the board, and do it again the next turn.
Pirate Shaman with a focus on Earth--I mean, ROCK! It started when the Southsea Captain complained about the noise the ship made as it rocked back and forth, and he called forth his entire crew -- and several other crews -- to make some noise to drown out the rocking.
Soon, the noise itself became known as "rock music," to remind the pirate of why they bellowed, violently swashed their bucklers, and otherwise made a beautiful, bloody noise every time they were at sea. Unfortunately, all of that noise made it easy to follow the pirates, and soon they were engaged in near-constant battles with the Imperial Navies of a half-dozen empires.
By then, they had learned to love their peculiar kind of Rock Music, and they simply fought even more fiercely when they thought it was threatened by the navies. The problem was, even with all of the Pirate Brotherhood gathered together, there just wasn't enough sheer volume for the rocking to be heard over the Ship's Cannons!
So they hired Elite Tauren Chieftain to come aboard and make some serious noise -- and that horny mo-fo wields an actual electric axe. The pirates had never seen anything like it, and they were like screaming young girls every time the ETC took center stage. They adapted to a bit more zap in their rock, and the synthesis of styles caused them to rename their ship The Synthesizer.
When the electric stage presence The Synthesizer brought with it everywhere they sailed attracted a few curious Mechs, lead by none other than Blingtron 3000, the Pirates just cranked it up to 11, taught those heartless 'bots to rock, and got rowdy like only they can!
I looked at this card originally and I thought, you know, it's a card, and you play this card. The card will be that card that you play so you're playing a card. So, it is one thing to play a card. If you're opponent doesn't really have any cards, the card will screw up the card pretty hard, and that means it's a pretty good card.
With all the chaos that goes on with a bad captain pirates start to get upset and begin to plot and kill behind each others back. Mainly fun but can be played in rank well. So enjoy slaying all dem captains and prove who da biggest boss of da sea is as you sneak your way into the ranks!

Now we all come to the realization that novaking was trolling us and we should all feel ashamed of ourselves.
