I've been playing since mid-May, Standard only. Probably dropped about $30 in the game and I play a decent amount since I'm off from school for the Summer.
I've reached Rank 12 the first season I played and hit Rank 11 in June. My overall record is 260-312. Am I doing ok or should I swallow a bag of dicks and uninstall the app?
Sincerely,

The best money I ever spent on this game was hiring a coach off Reddit. I was supremely skeptical at first. $10/hour seems steep, but those guys will set you straight pretty quickly. Anybody can learn this game, but it's the things "you don't know you don't know" that will hold you back. Coaches can help you build a good deck, learn to pilot it, and help you nail the basics.
Thats' perfectly normal, OP. In my case it took me around 3 or 3.5 months to get to Rank 5 while experimenting with Zoolock and Mech Mage (both til R12-10) and Secret Paladin to R5 (of course). If you invested some money, I'd bet you have built one of the T1 or T2 decks, so Keep going! You are doind great.

I LOVE playing this game. I've been unknowingly searching for something like this since I was a kid and lost in my first Magic tournament to some 40 year old with a ketchup-stained Hanes t-shirt. He busted my ass in less than five minutes with some bullshit Lighting/Fireball deck. Then I sat there and watched other people play until my dad picked me up hours later. Awkward.
I am in the same boat as you, 2 kids, wife/job have been playing for almost two years now and am just now at the point where I can reach rank 10 consistently playing as many games as I can during my half hour work out sessions each morning. I know I will never reach legend or play competitively but I enjoy the game, so I keep on keepin' on.
Are you enjoying yourself? I never bother to go above rank 20, I play because I like playing. If your entire focus is to be the very best and you aren't having any fun, uninstall. If you're entirely okay with landing as well as you are but enjoying yourself along the way keep playing
It is an invaluable tool and it makes learning from your games (and your stats) much easier than tracking it by hand. The replays are so handy for learning what your mistakes are that I would recommend anyone use this program if they want to improve their game.
I hit Legend last season , the reason was simple. I made the most stupid deck ever , 100% anti agro . I would insta loose to control deck , but as i thought its just aggro . I had a insane win rate , i would auto concede to control. But almost never met control.
Its sad how aggro the game has become , but i hit legend cus of that :)

How are you keeping track of your losses?
Keep rocking, I got way more losses than you do and I haven't given up yet
The game is pretty slow to start. Getting rank 12 is actually fairly decent 2 months in. I'd say you're doing okay.
That's pretty amazing considering you have two kids and wife and haven't been playing for so long. I'd keep going.
I exist, I think.

Gabriel is the best coach I ever found. I can't recommend him enough: https://www.reddit.com/r/HSCoaching/comments/44u23i/an_offer_you_cant_refuse/

Maybe the better question was: How long 'til I hit Legend? Hahaha... Just kidding... Kinda...

I never hit Legend in 18 months of Hearthstone, mainly because I grow tired of grinding past rank 5 - I too have a year old kid.
Never been coached, but I hit rank 5 for the first time after having watched a few pros playing on Youtube.
Your results are impressive so far so you'll probably hit Legend before I do
I have friends that dont make it past rank 17 in the first season, so i say go on!
the best tip i can give is to watch firebat and strifecro on youtube! They always explains why they do seemingly wierd plays and you will learn a lot!
You should check out the Hearthstone Deck Tracker, it will track your stats and give you replays you can rewatch and examine your plays with.

Would you consider your anti aggro deck a control deck? Kinda curious what your deck is.
Holy shit, please don't let this thread become a complaining ground for the current meta.
