It's happening - Blizzard is buffing it with a mana reduction to 2 mana:

One more question - of course, everything depends on the board state, but do you really think, that we won't play around this secret, that we will mindlessly attack a Vilespine Slayer instead of, I don't know, the 2 mana flower, Patches or other garbage minions... The same way we tried to play around Getaway Kodo and to prevent the pala from getting another Tirion or Tarim (by pinging a 1/1 dude), the same way we will find a way to minimize the value out of the rogue's minions. So, people, don't look only at the circumstances, where the card will perform godlike, consider the other scenarios too. They won't be that rare, I can assure you that.

Giving trash minions to your Rogue opponent is another way to defuse the value they might otherwise get from the secret. Minions like Leeroy Jenkins or Cornered Sentry give 1/1's for you to kill, or use spells like Devolve, Hex, or Polymorph to transform a good minion before killing it. I still find the card interesting, but the more classes playing secrets the more likely Eater of Secrets sees play.

I find that interesting though not surprising that Miracle had no place in the tournament. In the ladder (which is a different environment) Miracle has lost favor because the Druid matchup is worse now that Druids are more frequently running silence and removal minions such as Spellbreaker and Big Game Hunter which can answer Miracle's win conditions of tempo big minions.

Looking at the Quest Rogue list and comparing it to the HTC build, all five pro players cut Backstab (x2), which is not good versus big minions seen in Druid and Priest these days, and Swashburglar (x2), which fills your hand with random cards and pulls Patches early. Instead, they are running Stonetusk Boar (x2) for Vanish and Quest synergy and Coldlight Oracle (x1) for card draw, with the final card being either Valeera the Hollow, a single Doomsayer, or a second Coldlight Oracle.

Ok so I agree with your points. How powerful would it be in it was prepped for 2 mana compared to 3. Would it be overplayed or playable or still see no play?
I don't think changing the mana cost from 6 to 5 will help that much when it doesn't impact the board the turn you play it. Great value but it is a tempo loss to play it even if you are ahead, which is something Rogue can ill afford to do, especially if they are behind.

    Quote from PinkiePieYay>>

    First, stop comparing different classes.

Yup, case in point Rogue has Preparation, so something like Thistle Tea has to be costed with that in mind from a design standpoint.

Second, why did you pick these cards into account? I mean they are a lot different, while cards like Sense DemonsIce Fishing and Forge of Souls are much more similiar and yet the problem you have mentioned is in them.

I would slightly disagree but only because those cards you mention fetch two cards of a specific type while Thistle Tea can hit any card in your deck and make two copies of it.

Thistle Tea draws you only one card, which is then copied two times. The cost is increased, exactly because you recive these copies. And remember: you draw a card that you have chosen to be in your deck. Rolling the dices is still here, but again it's limited to your own deck. Somebody, like you, may say "But additional copies of one card is not an excuse to increase the cost", to wich I would reply "Three Edwin VanCleefs".

I would agree. There is some RNG, but cards you purposely include in your deck are bound to be better than random cards on average. My only complaint is that at 6 mana you couldn't play two on the same turn with Valeera the Hollow, but making such a huge pure value play without impacting the board is in most cases too high a price for Thistle Tea to see play anyway. When it is used it is mostly a budget finisher where you hope to duplicate something that can create a board swing or give you lethal.

Something very specific happened when I played as Rogue but this boss card didn't appear when I saw Youtuber's playing as other classes. I think there is a unique first play he gets by default against each class but it may just be that his deck is different versus each class.

I wouldn't DE any until you're complete finished purchasing/opening KFT packs.  So long as it's in your collection, you can't get another one from packs.

^ THIS 100%. As long as you are still opening packs from an expansion, there is no reason to dust any legendary because you put yourself at risk of getting it back instead of a different legendary that you might actually want. Only once you decide to not get more packs from that expansion would it be safe to consider dusting any legendary from that set.

Once a card is dead, it loses all buffs and debuffs, and so it wouldn't have taunt and wouldn't be brought back by Hadronox, just like how N'Zoth won't bring back minions that were given deathrattles.

@HavocDines, I like the Vanish/Doomsayer combo, too. Journey Below makes sense, I was just wondering how often you hit the right things with it. I know Discover is weighted by x4 for class cards, but I wasn't sure how often it would hit. I think that is also why Hallucination feels better than Huckster or Swashburglar and if you don't have Patches you might not be running Swashburglars either. I believe Firebat's recommendation in the video was SI 7's for the early board removal. Ooze is a good call if you see a lot of weapons in the meta you're in. Zealot is definitely better in a different deck, particularly in the new Corpsetaker Rogue shell some people have been experimenting with that runs Zealots, Pyschotrons, and Bloodworms.

Seems good, though I would like to hear more about your thoughts on the cards you included. Some of my thoughts in no particular order:

    • Earthen Ring Farseer instead of Mistress of Mixtures? I prefer to use Farseer because it is a battlecry and more flexible to use as it could help setup favorable trades when we don't need it to heal our face.
    • Undercity Huckster comes back with N'Zoth and would give us more cards to use with Death's Shadow when we might be running out of gas. What are you hoping to get from Journey Below? How often do you want to play what you get? You already have Shadowcaster and Valeera's Death's Shadow to try and double up on Jade cards and I think we'd rather see one of those than a random deathrattle card when we N'Zoth.
    • Shadowstep is great for reusing finishers like N'Zoth but could also let you rescue key good cards with battlecry effects to duplicate with Death's Shadow. Maybe a one-of if you can find room if two is too many.
    • Tainted Zealot gives us additional spell power and strengthens your backup win condition of spell power plus Death's Shadow triple Eviscerate. While Rogue often ran Azure Drake alongside Thalnos in the past, there probably isn't room for this though alongside the Jade stuff but perhaps worth thinking about.
    • Firebat ran Vanish and Doomsayer in a recent deck doctor video on a DK Jade Rogue list and I really liked that idea because after you transform you can Vanish, Doomsayer, then Death's Shadow Doomsayer to take back the board initiative. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUcFEcTUIc0

posted a message on Why Are Silence Priests Suddenly So Silent?

I heard Firebat refer to something called Big Priest in one of his Deck Doctor videos, which is as I imagine it a greedy list backed up by things like Medivh, Free from Amber, Obsidian Statue, and Mind Control. I believe I've faced this deck a few times now but always thought of it as Control Priest.

I tried this deck out at rank 24 (haven't laddered in wild yet this month) and lost five games in a row without being able to complete the quest before calling it quits. Lost to Demonlock, Ramp Druid, Tempo Rogue, and Control Priest (same guy twice in a row). Felt slow and the lack of good removal was painful. I would say my mulligan's were average at best. Became Valeera in half the games or had in her in hand before I died but never finished the quest.

See? This is the kind of deck the Rogue Quest should'vs spawned. A deck which requires a brain to play. +1 for sure man, good creativity

I agree. While the nerf was disheartening, it did kill the popular aggro quest style that limited what you could do with it. If you weren't running it, you just put yourself at a disadvantage in the mirror. I'm honestly glad to see someone experimenting with the quest still, so +1 from me, too.
