Slow rolling is an obnoxious play in any card game. Almost every player I faced last night was doing it. Whether I was well ahead, or way behind. They'd mull and float and draw the timer out every turn. I guess these players don't like to progress fast and get as many games in as possible, or they're very slow thinkers. Either way, they're extremely annoying. I've taken to minimising the game and doing something else while they hurt their little brains pondering.
Oh yes! But again, you usually know they have you beat before they figure it out, so just concede, taking away their glory moment. Most of us want to get onto the next battle when we know it's over. Unlike these slow-rollers.
I make my moves extremely quickly, but I love playing all my cards, leaving myself with 1 mana, see the opponent breathe cyber sighs of relief, and then pull out Earth Shock to make his Edwin VanCleef nothing more than a charred stain on the board.
Show us on the doll where the one minute turn touched you.
1 "one minute turn" is fine.
20 one minute turns, which usually sum up to a 30+ minute match (because of animations and your own turns) is probably one of the most infuriating things that can happen in Hearthstone.
I actually conceded a game yesterday (that was pretty much won, I just had to draw my 2nd fireball, with 4 cards left and the guy on fatigue) because I couldn't stand waiting any long (after 32 minutes).
Well, then by conceding you've basically encouraged such behavior. If he was dragging it on purpose that is. Some people like to really think deep or are just indecisive. I don't know, I'm never really bothered if the opponent takes his/her time. I only despise gloating thank-yous and similar stuff.
Yeah, it was precisely what a friend (Bagstone) told me. "He won"
Maybe he wasn't even doing it on purpose. I really think it's an issue worth being looked at from a developer standpoint, though. If some matches are taking 5-15 minutes, and others are taking 35+ minutes, there's probably something not working properly.
Chess has a clock, HS can have a "match clock" too =P It tells players "look, when there's an easy turn, don't troll the opponent or it will come back to bite you later on a harder turn".
If the timer bothers you that badly, shouldn't you just play Nozdormu in all of your decks?
Not sure if that was meant to me, but I'll make some observations either way. It's a 9 cost minion, by the time you can play that the match probably already took like 16+ minutes (with a slower player).
Second, the way people play Hearthstone, with very aggressive board control, well basically that isn't gonna stay on the board for long. Unless you're already stomping your opponent (aka it got to turn 15 and you're playing control vs aggro) and has like 1-2 more important targets for trades/removal. Hardly a viable solution. Third, it's a legendary... so yeah.
That doesn't take the merit from some of the observations made regarding turn duration =]
I meant it mostly just as snark and not an actual solution to slow players. I typically like to play fast turns, though this morning it did cause me to get sloppy. I had lethal on the board but didn't realize it. I was at 4 hp, opponent was at 20, I was afraid of dying the next turn, so I used my WF fire ele to clear the board and it died in the process instead of realizing that those 12 dmg would have been enough to win me the match, The crying baby on my lap with a diaper that needed to be attended to also didn't help. I sometimes need to slow down and not get tunnel vision, but I think I can achieve that without using up the full turn timer each time.

It may surprise some but there's actually people who are paid to design this game and they have likely considered whether they want a turn timer, match timer, both, some other solution, etc. Once they settled on a turn timer they likely considered how long to make a turn last and they settled on the obvious choice -- long enough for a short bio break. I've seen the suggestion for a chess clock about 5 times and every time I roll my eyes because I know we'd see 20x as many threads in that case about people that take 8 minutes to make their first turn.
What gets me is the super-slow early game. I spend so many matches finishing my turns 1-3ish in seconds while my opponent seems to agonize even when there's no play (turn 1). Turn 2 is really the worst, since you may have to choose between 2-3 plays but that doesn't take nearly as long as some make it to be.
But I do expect that if a game goes to late and hands get big that that 1min clock will tick out more frequently. I do it myself, because sometimes those plays involve large numbers of card interactions and require impeccable choices.

I spot that a lot too. Early game, the board is clear, the opponent spends so long on what must be a decision between hero power and a 2 drop.
What if they beat you because they were concentrating and you were rushing? ;)
Nah. Most of my games feel like it comes down to RNG. It really feels like hitting Legendary is about having a Quick deck and grinding it through. I'm sitting at about a 65% win rate across all decks and Hearthstone feels very stale atm.
Argh this is one of the most frustrating things I encounter!
I hate it when the enemy has an OBVIOUS answer to your board and seems to really think it over...mouse over all their cards...then eventually make it.
Like you have a ragnaros on board and they take a full minute to hex it when they only have 3 mana from lots of overload /facepalm

There is waiting to play to bad manner...and those people should be hit with a brick.
But there is also people who actually take time to think about their plays so they don't always do their first instinct and mess up.
As is said in chess, "If you find a good move, find a better one."
