You keep making arguments about how you assume the deck plays. I keep winning games. The only thing I can assume is you really don't know how to play this deck.

But that's fine. the beauty of this game is you can play whatever deck you want. Keep thinking this deck doesn't work and I and other people will keep winning with it.

it may work, just look out for the hunter and priest respective cards: FlareDeadly Shot and Mass Dispel.

One of those cards I've never seen used. One I've only ever seen used as a means of getting card draw on turn 1.

I really suggest you actually try and play it before you make blind assumptions about how the deck performs. It's quite good in the current meta. My record at this time is 33-7 with it. I'm not saying it's a perfect deck by any means but it clearly and easily handles rush decks without any trouble which is a large portion of the meta and has ways around most problems.

IF it's really such a bad deck then why are only two cards different from "every other shaman deck"? Also I don't understand your blind hatred of Malygos. As I pointed out combined with so many spells he wrecks face unless he is destroyed. Heck on turn 10 you can drop him and still Lightning Bolt for 8dmg. By no means will you have "spent all your spells" by turn 9/10. That's 10 spells and that's assuming basically that your only draw the entire game is a spell and you only choose to cast spells. Again. TRY IT before you judge it because in play he works out great.

You play Shaman and you don't know what to use bloodlust on? Really? It's a killer combo with your totems and minions. Yes the deck only has *13* minions. But If you count the Feral Spirit that's 17 minions and if you count the totems you can build up that's 21 minions. There's more than enough minions to make it viable.

You play this deck differently depending on who you go against. Hunters you rely on spells and Feral Spirits to protect you until you can drop the big cards. Which I don't know where you're getting 3 heavy hitters. There's 5 PLUS Unbound Elemental. Most decks only run 2/3 hard removals and you can fish out removal using Unbound Elemental because people WILL remove it as soon as it hits if they have the ability to. You don't play Earth Elemental turn 5. You play EE depending on the pace of the game and how many cards the opponent has. I usually will play him turn 10 after dropping Malygos. The WHOLE POINT of this deck is to SLOW DOWN the pace of the game and give you control. Of course he's a great card for this deck because this deck goes late EVERY hand unless you force quits by rushes early.

My last 7 matches since using the tracker I won all of them and they went to turn 9, 5, 22, 17, 23, 19, and 20. 3 Locks, 2 Hunters, 1 Priest, 1 Paladin.

Your last sentence of the first paragraph is right. You are missing something. Try this deck before you judge it then come back.

As you see this deck is light on minions except for heavy hitters. It uses a combination of spells and Bloodlust + Totems as a finisher. It was a deck floating around the forums awhile back. Might still be. Either you win mid game by using your spells to keep your minions alive and pop a bloodlust or you can win late by the sheer power of Malygos. I have yet to have someone "waste" a hard removal on it when he hits (or you can usually fish hard removal out before he hits) and then next turn it's usually over. An 8-9dmg lightning storm is the most amazing board clear. 10dmg Lava Burst, 8dmg Lightning Bolts.

This deck works amazingly well against aggro decks because of all the clear and because of bloodlust you can usually do ok against control decks.

I run a spellpower shaman and have very little trouble with hunter aggro. The biggest thing you have to remember against a hunter is not use your  HP constantly to give him minions for UTH. Don't be afraid to overcharge if it saves you damage and keeps the board clear. Feral a Spirit is your friend even if it gets multi shot because it takes a t least one turn to clear. Your main goal is make it late game to drop your big boys. Not just earth elemental. If you can make it long enough Fire Elemental will allow you to get and keep board control. EE is such a huge target and overloads you so much the next turn that I rarely play it until later. I'd much rather to sunfury minions turn 5/6 and have two taunts up. Even if he plays the flame trap, doesn't mean you have to trigger it next turn. sometimes its better to buy yourself another turn with the taunt up.

think of all the clears you have. Lightning Bolt,  forked Lightning, Lightning Storm, Earth Shock, Lava, hex. Combined with good value minions like Feral Spirit, faerie dragon, harvest golem early; You shouldn't have any trouble against aggro unless you get an awful RNG.

i had a really awesome draft (no epics or Legendaries though), I got 4 eviscoirates, 3 Chillwind Yetis, 2 Spiteful Smiths, Ped Blade, Blade Flurry, FoK, Cold Blooded, and the rest minions with a SW Champion that helped out a lot.

Hardest match I had that I won was the 11-2 match against a Paladin. He had a PERFECT rush deck combined with Sword of Justice, and Tri. He had me down to 3 health And board near full because I didn't draw any clear, I played Devine favor and got a Consecrate but no equality which I needed to clear. next round (after getting hit in the face to 3 health) he went all in except Tri and an owl. Mistake. I top decked an equality and cleared his entire board. Next round he played Tri who I silenced. He was furious, but I had board control at that point and it was too late for him.

posted a message on Do I need to use a bad deck to climb the ladder?
    Quote from djfester »

stuck around rank 17 because every time i win a game i end up losing 2 to people with basic and common cards because it's turn 4 and i haven't been able to consecrate yet and my hand is full of stuff like tinkmaster and ysera....none of which were in my opening hand but were my 1st few draws.

so i guess my question is do i need to set aside these good cards and play a cheap rush deck just to get to the ranks where people play good cards?

Is it a bad deck if it's beating you?

Maybe the better term is "different".

What if they beat you because they were concentrating and you were rushing? ;)

Nah. Most of my games feel like it comes down to RNG. It really feels like hitting Legendary is about having a Quick deck and grinding it through. I'm sitting at about a 65% win rate across all decks and Hearthstone feels very stale atm.

Malygos + Shaman is the ultimate control class. if he is dropped and not taken care that turn, you will own the opponent. I've never lost a game as a shaman with him hitting The board. Lava burst, Lightning Storm, Lightning bolt own everything.

I made the switch to aggro last week because I kept facing a ton of control decks. I got tired of matches going tons of turns past 10 mana and the game basically devolving into one of us top decking a card. Nothing was worse than spending 20 minutes in a ranked match to lose to RNG and then start the process over again.

so I switched and I'm super happy with it. Matches take far less time and even if I lose I can quickly make it up because of the game speed. Not to mention they are a great counter to late game heavy decks.

You should give Murloc Warlock a try then. It's usually smooth sailing as long as you don't get horrible draws.

    That's what u run. Lol

I made it to rank 10 and only reason it didn't go higher was because I was testing Flood's Priest deck and didn't have enough time before the reset. I find the Murlock deck puts pressure on the opponent to not make mistakes, it requires them to constantly assess which minions to kill, and if they dont draw the right cards it's hard to handle.

posted a message on YOU nerf the Giants

I really can only assume that it's people who runs giants who are against nerfing it. I have on multiple times has a lock hellfire the board, play dual giants and sunfury/argus them. I don't see how anyone could see a class being able to clear or almost clear your entire board, put dual 8/8s on the board and add taunt in one turn as balanced. Also the odds of pulling dual clears by turn 6/7 isn't extremely high.

people acting like, "Super easy to deal with" are silly. One on the board, maybe so but they are almost always dropped in pairs with taunt. When you have a class that can artificially lower their health while drawing the cards needed it makes Molten Giant Broken. Mountain due to card size limits already has a cap on how cheap it can be played. I see no reason why Molten shouldn't be the same. even a 2 mana minimum at least gives the other player a chance to draw the needed clears which balances things out far more. I also don't think the argument that "if Blizzard hasn't fixed it yer it must be balanced." Is right either.

posted a message on Flood's Question Thread

I had the same results as Powergamez. Played 10 matches, split them evenly. You're absolutely right Flood, this deck destroys Druids and can handle aggro reasonably well.

The biggest weakest I see in my VERY limited testing is against aggro if you don't draw your AOE you just get worked. I'm on the fence about whether to swap Holy Fire with Holy Nova just to give one more AOE to handle early rush. But holy fire is REALLY good against late game stuff. I'm also thinking of swapping one Azure Drake for Bloodmage Thanlos and keeping Holy Fire since you still get the card draw but he's lower mana so you can drop him and holy fire the same turn to do 6 damage which is REALLY important late game.

The losses that I had were against mid-game Shaman (I made it to 8 mana but the entire time I didn't draw Circle of healing and he popped Bloodlust. Really felt super RNG because he was completely tapped out and top decked it for the win). Both control Paladins I fought (They both were using Stormwind Champion late game and you can't play Azuke Drake AND Holy Fire same turn so I couldn't kill him. I didn't draw tink until the turn before he killed me too, which was horrible RNG because I drafted my entire deck the 2nd match)

Lost against a rush Warrior even after aggressive mulligan because I pulled Rag, Mindcontrol, Argent Commander, Circle of Healing as my turn 1 draw. Didn't get a SW:P until 5 mana turn and never saw the Priest. It was a slaughter. Also lost a mirror match but it went 24 turns and extremely late game. He was running shadow madness and I couldn't get board control because he didn't really play minions and just kept killing mine.

On the positive side, I made a MurLOCK rage quit on 4 mana because he threw out his entire hand and I Priest + Circle of Healing his entire board. He had no cards. I did tell him "I'm Sorry" before I did it.

Thank you for the deck Flood. It's a very interesting one to play and has a ton of strengths. I do think there's some slight tweaking that needs to be done but it's still very good.

posted a message on Harrison Jones: Good or Bad?

I find him a direct upgrade from ASO. He costs two more but gives you a bigger body that will require a higher level of removal to get off the board before he can attack. In current meta he has plenty of use even if fighting someone who doesn't have a weapon. He's one of the few minions that you can have in your deck that can swap with Yeti (who has had a HUGE spike in usage) and he can kill Shieldmasta without being killed. He can't be killed by Frostbolt, blizzard, explosive trap, arcane shot, multi-shot, hammer of wrath, backstab, rockbiter weapon, any lightning spell, can't be killed by any early weapons (if they still have one in hand after you broke it), and any 3 drop minion so he will ALWAYS trade 2-4-1 or pull a removal (I consider Chillwind Yeti as a very good trade with him because of what it would cost you otherwise to kill Chillwind).

A lot of people say he doesn't have value if you don't fight against someone who has a weapon, but many cards don't have value in certain situations. If you're going against hunter / lock rush Ragnaros doesn't have a ton of value because he's such a late play the match is usually decided by the time he hits, same goes for Ysera / Malygos and a ton of other late game Legendary cards. But people still see the value of them. I see Harrison Jones in the same light. He's not on the same Tier as Rag, but he's by no means in the worst tier either. I'd put him in a middle tier and I think he could directly replace ASO in anyone's deck that is running one.

posted a message on 24/24 lightwell on turn 4

Keeper of the Grove, Tink, Big Game Hunter, Owl, Spellbreaker, would have all easily handled it and basically won you the game. If all you are running is 2 Keeper of the Groves in your deck you need to add another removal or two. By turn 4 you'll have gotten 7 cards without playing any card draw. Realistically you could expect 1-2 card draw by turn 4/5. So you'll basically have pulled 1/3 of your deck by then. It's just bad fortune that you didn't pull a removal. But odds are much higher that you pull the removal than the Priest can routinely get that combo.
