The feathers on the shoulders of the mage do look like Medivh for sure. The shape of the bow is throwing me a little bit for the hunter. Does the shape have any similarities to any of the candidates bows in WoW or other media? I'd guess and hope for Alleria based on that silhouette. I really want to have some throw back to Warcraft 2 and before. Maybe we get Turalyon as the paladin now that would be old school. Still would beg the question... What happened to those two after The Expedition and destruction of Draenor?
First thing to come to my mind is Medivh and Sylvanas. Maybe it's another Windrunner, but Sylvanas more or less fits Hunter class, especially her alive version.
The feathers strongly indicate Medivh for Mage, but the silhouette reminds of trolls indeed. However I think it's not ears, but a collar. The pointy head must be a hood, which also fits Medivh.
I also thought it could be a troll from Flamestrike, but the hero must be a well known lore figure and I don't know any significant troll mages. I was almost sure it would be Kael'thas or, less likely, Khadgar, but Medivh is great too.
PS Oh, silly me, there already exists a Sylvanas Windrunner card, so it has to be other Windrunner. =)
Kael'thas is a super villain. There's no way he'd be a Hero character in this game. He'd be a raid boss in an adventure long before he'd be a Hero character.
It's almost certainly Medivh based on the shoulders matching perfectly.
Kael'thas was a hero in Warcraft 3. He became a villain in World of Warcraft, so technically he can be whatever the devs need him to be.
He's also a "Hero" in HotS but that doesn't mean anything in Hearthstone where raid bosses are raid bosses and none of the playable Heroes are considered by the masses to be raid boss super villains like Kael'thas is.

It's clearly Medivh but your reasoning for never having Kael because hes a super villain is flawed. Gul'dan would be right at the top of the food chain of supervillans and Garrosh is hardly getting on the front cover of Nicey Goodguy Monthly magazine.
I really can't help but feel the new hunter is Shandris Feathermoon. Important character in WC 3 and got her own model in WoW. I think she has a better relationship to beasts and considering how many of the hunter cards are beasts it just makes more sense to me.
We saw Valeera chosen over several other prominent rogue figures. I just can't shake the feeling they'd give us a Windrunner.

Garrosh was literally the last raid boss of an entire expansion. I think we're getting Medivh though. Silhouette matches up too well and there are no prominent troll mages the way that Jaina Proudmore, Medivh etc are prominent. Hunter basically has to be a Windrunner or Tyrande based on the silhouette. I'm going to go with the OP on this one.
Technically, Medivh isn't a vilain. He was possessed by Sargeras and remained as good as possible.
And for the hunter, Windrunner sisters aren't as well known and charislmatic as Tyrande. But in either case, their will be some nice voiceovers with Sylvanas or Malfurion (Tyrande's lover) and Illidan.

Agreed, but Kael'thas being a villain still speaks against him for one reason: adventures.
Especially Kael is such an iconic and potentially hilarious character, "wasting" him on a hero portrait doesn't seem like a smart move in the long run. Not if you have other good options, like Medivh. It wouldn't surprise me if we see Kael and Lady Vashj narrating some sort of Outland adventure. Including a ton of "minor" setbacks :)
As for Vereesa being not as famous as Tyrande, well that's true. But she's been around since Wrath of the Lich King, was involved in some scenarios during Mists and had a lot of exposure in some recent books. Not many players even remember Alleria, and Tyrande could still be used as a Priest legendary.

I don't mean "hero" as in "playable character". He's not a villain in WC3, he's portrayed as a good guy.

Nothing is confirmed, but those two characters are extremely likely to be the alternative Mage and Hunter heroes!
What do you think? The silhouettes match perfectly in both cases.
Edit: Typo in the title, blame hype!
Edit2: Typo got fixed, blame the mods! Thanks!
Told myself not to buy new Hero skins. Told myself so many times. And then suddenly, a wild Windrunner appears.

Since Vereesa is more prominent in-game I think it will be her.

Either way we will hopefully get some epic brother and sister BM!
Vereesa vs. Malfurion.
Vereesa plays Illidan - "Hello Brother"
Malfurion plays Sylvanas - "Hello Sister"

Its most defnitely Medivh, the feathers on the side, i cant think of a better mage!!
DA HYPEEE
How do you kill that of which has no life?
The mage could be the Troll mage from the Ice Barrier card. What's his name?

I thought that at first but there are no feathers on the silhouette's bow.
The mage could be one of these Trolls from ZG. Note the "Feathered" shoulders on some of them.
