i want to ask about the card back cause i started playing heros only for this.... i have beta key access so i just have to reach 12 level to get the cardback right? i am 7 level right now and the game is pretty tiring with many disconnections and lag
im wondering, if u have already level 12+ but have not played in a few weeks do u get the card back? or must you play at least a game to know u are active?
So if one obtains level 12 now, and the 'promotion' starts he will get card back immediately?
Another question, not to create new topic. Does anyone know how the HotS mount will work? It requires to have a lvl 100 character in WoW. If you have such a character but your account is frozen, will it work?
To OP: I also started playing just for this, 2 days ago, but I haven't encountered single lag or DC. I'm level 8 now. So it might be something on your side / other region / bad luck (I play on EU).
i bet it's won 100 games at hearthstone and not at wow for the mount. And the mount is for Hots no for wow

Definitely not getting that card back. I've played like two matches a few weeks ago and this game is terrible. I've never enjoyed any moba other than DotA 2 but that thing feels especially lackluster to me and is the first Blizzard games in decades i'm really disappointed about. Hope they get their shit together for Overwatch.
Oh, ok, you're the first person i encounter that does not like HotS. It mostly gets positive feedback and i personally find it very entertaining and fun too. The are several heroes who are played completely different than others and the maps and their different objectives add to the overall great presentation imo.
i have never played another game from beta so when the game will air on second of june my stats and earnings from beta will remain the same? not that im very interested in that game but i dont want to grind to 12 level AGAIN for the cardback which if it has the purple aura around it its fucking amazing

there won't be any more wipes. Whatever you have today will still be there when it officially launches.

I checked it out when I got a beta invite many months ago, I was bored after 10 minutes and have never even launched it since. But then, I don't like any MOBAs.
I'm willing to give it a second chance because of this card back, though, which I guess was the intention.
Heroes of the storm distills the MOBA genre to its most essential stuff and the matches go a lot faster than League or DotA without feeling cheesy the way that most alternate league maps do. I'm not overly familiar with DotA but I played League for roughly 4 years and I'll say that "getting into" HotS is quite a bit easier than getting into League.
I've been having fun with it, though I can definitely tell it has its share of flaws. I enjoy playing it though the talent system could probably stand to be rebalanced for a LOT of characters since there are a lot of false options (Ones that are basically never right) available. I do like the fact that laning is less snowbally and less of a part of the game and that team fights, skirmishes and team composition/goals are more central than laning matchups, CS and early mistakes/misplays.
Another thing I like is that everyone starts with their whole basic kit (other than ults and talents that modify skills) at the start of the game. It always felt REALLY bad in league to be one level down early in a mage v mage mid lane matchup for example. Also the fact that there aren't individual levels and CS mitigates a LOT of the 'hate' factor that goes on in League matches. When one lane is slightly behind in League and they go down in levels/CS all too often the mid game roles around that lane is very ineffective for your team and very effective for your opponents. This generates a LOT of arguing, blaming and general unhappiness. In HotS, if one lane is ahead and the other is behind you end up with a break even due to shared experience so everyone has the capacity to continue contributing and you feel less like that one lane wrecked your game by letting your opponents charge in with massive advantages.
The no jungler thing is also a massive relief because resources aren't balanced around who picked the fastest/most threatening jungler. You build compositions that involve characters who are mobile, manipulate minions, threaten to gank often or can work with other lanes to take advantage of mercenary camps and that's a team thing, not a one man operation.
HotS is a disappointment because the best possible strategy is to have 2 supports and no specialists, then run around in a 5-man death ball and steamroll everything. For that reason, Dragonshire is the only good map because it requires you to split up and doesn't encourage a one-sided snowball. Assassins keep a lot of team fight potential and close out the game if the enemy team tries to have the laning phase you'd expect in a normal MOBA.
On the bright side, it doesn't compete with the champion game of the genre. Position of quality is preserved, and I'm not sure what the MOBA scene would look like if Blizzard was king.

I hate mobas too man, but since i want to keep having all the cardbacks, i sucked it up and got lvl 12 yesterday! I hated every second of it tbh...
I get why many people do not like HOTS, especially when compared to LOL and DOTA, but I think Blizzard succeeded in creating a MOBA that fits in its own niche.
It's a decent enough MOBA for us that prefer a simpler game with shorter rounds.

So, I haven't installed HotS yet, but do have a beta key. I have essentially zero interest in actually playing HotS, but am happy to succumb to clever marketing tactics and play it for a couple of hours in order to get the card back.
Any idea how much HotS gaming is required to meet the player lv12 requirement? Any tips and tricks for getting there as quickly as possible?
If I level up on the American HotS server, do I get the card back on all my HS server accounts, or just the American one? I'm curious because my internet connection sucks, and HotS seems to require a pretty fast connection. I live in China but I mainly play HS on the American server, but HotS is basically unplayable for me because of the lag and constant disconnections.
Other than that, HotS seems like a fun game. Sorta cute. Not really my cup of tea, but I want that spinning card back... :)

Yes, level 12. There is no time limit so feel free to take a break
Once you hit level 10, you'll get a stimpack which doubles your xp for 7 days. Climbing to 12 goes pretty fast then.

I made a little thread about it. I pulled off the confirmation of the Hearthpwn main website home page.

Just play with a friend for the XP boost to speed it up if you actually have no desire to play the game.
