To be fair TESPA is activatable on the Americas server only. So people with EU, Asia and chinese account would need to set up an Americas account to get access to the cardback. Correct me if im wrong?
So i see these chinese cardback as the chinese version of tespa, but its actually more exclusive and thus more meaningful then tespa.
Anyway since im a north America collector I could care less about content exclusive to another werver as it has no perso al bearing on the completion-ability of my own personal collection. Also, I believe there are some pretty crazy restrictions on chinese battle.net/hearthstone accounts and you cant even create one unless you proove that you are a citizen of China, so yes its exclusive and if you arent a citizen of china you cant even try to be "creative" about obtaining it. That said it looks like since its a liscense detected cardback, I dont even think itll be a sellable cardback via a code which is great. The cardback will simply be added automaticaly to those accounts that quakify for the tournaments. So we wont even see this cardback on the secondary market, but even then it would probably not even be activatable outside of China.
So essentially its finally an actual meaningful cardback (well minus legendary cardback, that one is obtainable with skill/time only also) that comnunicates "I am one of the top players of China" instead of communicating "I have money and bought this from a top player in China." Honestly I think its fantastic, because its a cardback thats a true badge of honor for the skilled Chinese Heaethstone players. Ill be kind of sad if the cardback is issued via a code quite honestly but aftr reading the blurb on the front page of hearthpwn it seems that the cardvack will activate on the specific accoubts that quakify automatically when the account quakifies thus no code. I could be wrong on that though.

Correcting you: Tespa activates on Battle net on all account (EU/NA/ASIA), you don't need an american one to have tespa, I use it on my EU acct.
I think there should be MORE exclusive card backs, so that there's more "where did THAT card back come from" exclamations. And that I might have a bigger chance of somewhere finding a card back that is a bit more exclusive. It shouldn't be possible to get them all.
I think it would be nice if they did an na/Eu tourney for a similar prize. Your suggestion just makes it less exclusive, when it's intended as a reward for the best of the best. I'd say their dedication might justify this small treat.
Top 150 legend of your region isn't "best of the best"? I must be missing out on the point of being legend rank then. And I mean outside of being tournament exclusive. Some people can't even go to those for various reasons.
Not nearly as exclusive if you could attempt it each season. Ultimately, Blizzard is within its rights to reward those that take part in promotional events for its game/support its continued success, with cosmetics. You've enjoyed this game f2p, so cheer up.
Really, this thread happened? Who cares about exclusive card backings. They are strictly cosmetic and does not effect game play. While it's nice to have a change it's not game breaking.
I think it would be far better than have 50 exclusives that most people couldn't obtain, than to have one.
Having a tiny number makes them stick out. Having a large number normalizes the idea that NO YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE EVERYTHING.
There will be more. HS is only 1 year old. Give it time, there are sure to be more events like this, including for EU, NA and non-Chinese Asia servers.
I Please tell me this is a troll thread. Please for the love of all that is holy tell me that this is a troll thread. Blizzard provided a free golden legendary, albiet not all that useful and undisenchantable, for blizzcon and for testing the store completely reasonable given that the cards are awful, that all players involved get to enjoy them, and that they were made to be silly and rewarding They add the card back system to give rewards without having to make new, bad cards, and without littering people's collection with cards they'd never use. and people complain about uninfluencial, easy to make, unique promotional /card backs/. Card backs that the collection doesn't even tell you about if you're missing!
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of making it available to players who reach Legend top 150, but seeing as it's 'GOLDEN CELEBRATION' it could be an award for, say,
a) getting a golden hero
b) getting all 9 golden heroes
c) getting at least 1 copy of all golden cards in the classic set
d) getting a least 1 copy of all golden cards, period.
The current incarnation for participating in a tournament doesn't make sense. But I fought and fought for the TeSPA card back and they didn't move a damn inch on it, so had to go through alternate means to get it.
I got many cardback... I just don't care about them. I still play with the regular one I started this game with.
Cardback is only a luxury... any complain on the matter is to me, something pointless that should be adressed no regards. This is a card game... not a design contest. You don't get points for playing ''beautiful'' card backs.
I remember watching pro stream and they were commenting the deck of Lifecoach / MagicAmy all in golden cards telling how much it would have costed them to craft all those. They did not tell that the player was better or something else... just that they spend a lot of dust/real money to acquire it (probably coming from stream donations, that's their matter).
My point is, if you are struggling at having a specific card back... you are not enjoying Hearthstone for what it should be... a card game. I remember playing Magic the Gathering with plastic transparent folder... and no one was criticizing me for having standard folder with no back ''cool'' design. They were enjoying the card game... nothing more... nothing less.

Fair enough, still believe China is a seperate beast though. Can anyone confirm if TESPA is useable on the China server?
I can confirm that TeSPA does not work on Chinese server at all, so I assume it will be the same for this one for us, but I await Blizz confirmation!

I totally disagree.
The more exclusive achievement based cardbacks, the better.
