Legends of Runeterra costs like 1/100 as much as this game and you get mostly the same experience. I have EVERY card in that game and I havent spent any money on it and I dont even play it that much. LITERALLY EVERY CARD
That doesn't sound like much of a business model.
you're not wrong about that. Idk how they stay in business, but they have a lot of really fancy cosmetics they come out with every month. I bought 2 and spent 20$ mostly because I wanted to support the devs. HS shouldnt cater completely to free to play players, but they really need to change epic and legendary dust costs/ increase the chances of them in packs and maybe give 8 cards in a pack or give 5 cards and 50 dust every pack. Or they could have every expansion give the option of spending 50$ to get every card.
I still like HS and I play it now for something 7 or 8 years I think. The problem we currently have is that draw is cheap, cost reduction is everywhere and tutoring cards is easy. Barrens was for me a FANTASTIC expansion! UiS on the other hand was a red flag for me... the quests are just to easy to complete and you have tem done turn 6-7 and get mostly infinite value. I remember the first iteration of quests. I really loved them back then. The second wave of quest was questionable bth. and now the third is cancer...
I think the meta will be a lot healthier with the rotation of the old sets that have a lot of draw and cost reduction. I think the meta should be a bit better then but I really hope they throw out the quests... they limit so many games. The only positive thing about them is that i give up as soon as the quest pops up. I dont want to waste my time with my home brew decks vs fast and infinite value monsters...

"... but not less than (1)" is needed now more than ever!
Another turning point was moving from Twitch (tens of thousands of viewers) to YouTube (f*ck all). Blizzard got paid in the short term but, IMO, they lost a huge amount of interest in HS as a "eSport".

How can this game not get convoluted in development when the model is to keep printing new cards for the consumers constantly?
this game was terminal from the start. All of the other play modes and expansions are intended by blizzard to keep your money churning.
Unless they completely revamp the game, it’s going to continue to die.
my advice, don’t pay a penny.
I used to love this game, now it’s just on my phone when I go to take a shit.

This was always a dead game Kappa
