I’ve played this game since before Naxx, and I can no longer go into wild to have ANY fun or mess around without matching up against legend players or players pushing to legend with tier 1 decks
I’ll be in silver and every person I play is legend and it’s the same rotation of shit over and over. Cubelock, secret mage, cancer demon hunter, quest mage, Reno priest with raza. After all that I might see one unique deck and then five more try hard netdecks. It’s like I’ve played for so long now that all I get is this shit.
Cant even get excited for new cards anymore. The new ranks pretty much ruined my ability to try messing with any Outland cards. I quickly learned Wild was futile to experiment for me. It’s like I play one hour and 10 matches before I get one interesting match. I already tech to try and help my chances, and I can beat them occasionally but I end up pissed and log within 1-2 hours of playing.I add people and they are always legend
Dont even tell me to play casual like you’re ignorant of what that mode is. It’s always been a gold farm. I see more aggro and face decks there than on ranked ladder.
So stupid that I have to get all the people with hard ons for rank, regardless of my rank. If I play anything decent and get into platinum or diamond it’s BEYOND unplayable with the way I want to play. I’ve saved up years and years of cards and I have to face cubelock who destroys almost everything over and over and then spams emotes like some genius or some master player. Oh and I can’t concede my ranks anymore either. Thanks blizzard for killing this game mode for me. All your dumb demon hunter did was turn into a brainless face rush class. God I love teching in a polymorph or hex that’s unusable against their odd bullshit where I’m 1/3 dead on the 3rd or 4th turn
Chill dude, currently on diamond 2 with highroll pocketgalaxy mage. Memedecks still works, dont expect to play with 60% winrate. So, yes. You can meme and still win in wild. Thats the beauty of wild. If your deck isnt god awful.
I have been told on many occassions over the last few months on these forums though that 'wild' is the great HS nirvana where us standard players who moan about stale metas and OP classes should go and play because you only see the same deck once in every 4 million games?

That changed with the new system when you are in a high MMR. That is what OP is saying. There are still strong decks but especially on lower ranks lots of people try different decks, but high ranks are the same over and over.
With the new seasonal awards, people are keener to climb. Reaching the next 5 ranks to get a card pack or an epic feels like a reasonable goal with a nice payoff. Since the wild format is imbalanced you can easily play ~60-70% win rate deck and climb efficiently. Some decks like the secret mage are really cheap to craft too. These are probably the reasons for people to try hard more than before.
Yeah, I mainly used to meme or play crazy tribal decks at rank 20-15 wild ladder if i played wild at all. It was pretty cool, you'd come across plenty of other people doing the same thing, and if I matched people using basic cards and stuff I'd often just concede to them, I wasn't trying to climb or crush noobs, just have some fun.
It was always better than wild casual mode for this, where people seemed to just use pirate warrior bots to farm gold or whatever - no fun playing those guys. But yeah, since the ladder change its no longer this way..i'm being matched against people at way higher rank who ARE trying to climb with meta decks. Makes my wild collection now feel redundant.
When I no longer have fun doing something, or said thing stops benefiting me in other ways (ie, working/earning money), I stop doing it...
Imagine having a crappy job, and your employer stops paying you all together... So you keep working for a few months, and log into an employment chatroom to complain about working for free... While continuing to scrub toilets knowing you won't get paid.

That is what these threads are like.

Low MMR is probably still the same.
As long as I can call bullshit the next time I see a wild player talking down to a standard player like they're on some higher plane of existence.

The amount of OP decks you face is also affected by what time of the day you play.
I have found climbing much easier when i play during off hours, like 7 to 9am or after 2am
just a thought.

This is what delusion is like.
Um there was a post 90 mins before mine... This thread was on the main page as a most recent post... Who's delusional?
