I've been playing priest only and I can only play one class.. really love the priest class.. but after these changes.. Especially removing the shadow theme out of the class identity which is my favorite theme actually!!.. and all the cards that shape the class meta.. I didn't like it and was hoping more for the class (Like a new shadow priest meta).. Maybe this issue is too early to discuss but I don't want just to wait for more weeks or even months and hope for unknown future about this poor class.. I need help because I've been playing this game for only three expansions and I have no idea about the past three years of this class..
Should I retire this class and focus on another class.. or just keep playing my fav inconsistent class and wait for the best?.. guide me please
You have a free game with 9 (now 10 soon) classes. All with different ways to play. If you've been disenchanting cards from other classes just to play priest then I'm afraid you've made your bed, now you'll have to lie in it.
Alternately, you could just start playing wild... or Demon Hunter, which you're getting a whole free set for.
Hey OP, that's a pretty fair question. You'll have to forgive the other guy, nobody knows who he is anyway.
Priest is in an exciting spot, probably the most exciting class aside from Demon Hunter to be honest. The reworked basic set gave Anduin and co. some really good tools that should be around for a while now (HoF not withstanding). Priest historically relied on expansions for its direction as the basic and classic sets were just too weak (Cleric aside). Things should be a little different with the changes.
My advice would be to just wait. See how it goes once the new set launches and the new cards are available. There should be at least one viable deck to play. If you still like the feel then stick with Priest. There's no other class in the game that tilts people quite like Priest which is reason enough to play it!
At the same time it may be a good idea to start looking at other classes that interest you. Reno Mage may be something you'll like but it's super expensive to craft. Don't make any decisions now though. There's just a few weeks until Outlands releases and you'll have your answers then.
They are buffing the cards, because they were basically trash, and you do not know what to do?
Just play priest and be happy man!
The problem is not the cost but the cards are very situational.. There's a little to no flexibility at all.. Unlike the rest of classes which have cards that have a function in all meta.. in general

I don't like the rest of the classes unfortunately.. but I'm interested in the new class.. not just for the cost but the aggressive theme is interesting..

Hello bro.. Of course he was just trolling!!..
The thing is I'm getting bored of control priest.. Especially res and galakrond.. Albatross was fun tho.. Maybe I'm crazy but I want to see something like aggro priest lol.. or at least midrange.. rather than just sitting and skipping 4-5 turns.. I will take what you've said in consideration..
search to forums/google for priest changes, or wait until thursday and login. though you may want to prepare for HOF and maximize dust profit, which is horribly stupid. Why don't they make it so that you do nothing and get max value? I guess ppl like to feel savvy, fluff the ego. Explains a lot :D

The new class is gonna change a lot over time so just be aware of that if you intend to play it.
As for the Priest rework it is great. They may have destroyed some fun gimmick decks and potential for deck variety but it looks very promising. They are going in the buffing minions direction which I think is very strong and fun. They may have destroyed shadow priest but they haven't destroyed priest.

Hi SummerWalker,
What I liked about the demon hunter that there's a lot of paths to take from punching faces to make a board full of strong demons.. But you are right.. Since It's a new class.. Maybe there will be balance changes ahead
I agree.. The new changes have created more synergies in the class.. And the Galakrond priest is much stronger than before with the upcoming rotation.. but as you said there will be less variety.. Maybe I have a lot of expectations and got bored of control.. I won't disenchant anything..
I will wait and try to work on both classes.. Thanks for your help!!
honest question, how many game you win always stuck on the shadow priest archetype?
I mean i remember it was good for a little while but then very hard to play.
No judging i also not obsessed by victories, but you know the fun part of every game is winning some time.
Hello mortoz,
I don't play wild and I've been playing since Rise of Shadows..
On my first account, I've made an off-meta deck with cards that work around shadowform which was a core card in the deck.. I discovered that was not working and I can estimate a winrate around 30% against lower tier decks.. So, I made another account from scratch to focus on meta and fun decks that plays around meta..

Now that they buffed Raza the Chained the shadow theme is actually viable and a lot stronger than before.
