Isn't it then still advantageous to craft golden legendary if you have non-gold?
Cost: 3200
Get back: 3200 + 400 from normal
So net 400?
Thats 400 Profit if you just want to keep the golden Copy, yea. You can choose the amount of Profit you want to get, but max is always 2000 per Legendary.
No. If you got both, golden and normal you only get refund for golden one. If you then disenchant it you get 1600, so just as much as refund for normal one.
I understand what you guys are saying. I will save one copy of Leeroy anyway, I don't disenchant cards, but I will make 1600 profit, when I craft golden and then disenchant it. Profit for me
If you don't craft anything you will gain 1600 total dust just by having Leeroy.
If you craft a Golden Leeroy you will be spending 3200 dust. You will then be given back your 3200 dust when he goes to HoF. Then after you disenchant your golden Leeroy you will have made.... 1600 total dust.

Sounds like you don't understand at all. But the poster above already explained it.
You'll get 1600 dust either way. Crafting it golden just to disenchat it later is pointless.
1. Craft whatever you are missing (golden or normal), either way you get dust back.
2. If you got a set of say.. Acolyte but want them golden for Wild you can craft em - it costs you 80 dust in the long run (that's how much refund you will miss from the set of normal ones).
You spend the 3200 gold, and have 1 golden, and 1 regular Leeroy.
When HoF happens, you'll get your 3200 gold back
You have 1 golden + 1 regular leeroy and 3200 gold.
You sell golden leeroy for 1600.
You have 4800 gold, and a regular leeroy
(If you sell that leeroy you end with 5200 gold and no Leeroys)
‐-------------------------
Scenario B:
You have Leeroy and 3200 gold.
The HoF happens
You do nothing, and Blizzard gives you 1600 gold.
You have 4800 gold and a regular leeroy.
(If you sell that leeroy you end with 5200 gold and no Leeroys)
‐-----------
Scenario C
You already have LeeRoy and 3200 gold.
You spend the 3200 gold, and have 1 golden, and 1 regular Leeroy.
When HoF happens, you get 3200 gold.
You now have both Leeroys and 3200 gold.
You can sell your regular leeroy for 400.
You have a golden leeroy and 3600 gold
(If you sell him, you end with 5200 gold and no Leeroys)
In this one, you end up with a golden leeroy, and 3600 gold, instead of a regular leeroy and 4800 gold (net loss of 1200 gold) at any other time, if you craft a golden leeroy, and disenchant your regular leeroy, it's a net loss of [3200-400] 2800 gold.
‐--‐--------------------------------------
The confusion happens, because people don't think about the value you lose for the Leeroy you already have.... if you don't have any of these cards (normal or golden), then it 100% makes sense to craft golden versions now, because you'll:
Have 3200 gold and no Leeroy,
Buy golden leeroy (have 0 gold)
HoF happens:
Blizzard gives you 3200 gold and you have golden Leeroy.
Sell golden Leeroy.
End with 4800 gold.

Right.
I meant, if your goal is to get all these cards golden, this is a great time to do it.
If you just want to maximize dust obviously there is no advantage.
Ok Guys! Some really don't get it so RTFM
