#3 birds must have fur to count as a bird, dragons don't have fur
PD: When I think in Warcraft and phoenix what I recall is A'lar, the Kaelthas' phoenix, and certainly there's not much lore involving this lore of Warcraft. Maybe are we visiting Outland?
How tacky. We just had a year of a bird before this year. Uninstalling

I wouldn't make any speculations about the content though. About the only card that highlighted the Year of the Mammoth thematically was Giant Mastodon.
This is definitely speculation, and I might be reading too much into it, but the phoenix is a symbol of resurrection, of something new rising from something old. This could maybe be a sign that we will see some serious changes going into the new year, as hinted at by the participants in the 2020 Hearthstone summit. Using the phoenix as the theme of the year almost demands something new or different at a big scale.
Okay, I see that the emblem shows most likely a Phoenix. But I'm a little bit surprised, because I expected a "water-based" creature as the new years theme. Deriving from the sequence Kraken (water) - Mammoth (earh) - Raven (air) - Dragon (fire), I expected the next year would be X (water). The "Shoring Up" cardback seemed to support my theory. Now a part from me wants to disbelieve, that they chose a fire creature again.

Seems legit, any thoughts?
Looks good. No idea what to expect tho. Year with elementals?
Fight, maggot!

Year of the Phoenix... ressurrection effects will be in full mode!
Looks believable enough.

Name doesn't matter. It could be the year of burnt toast for all I care.

So couldn't this be e.g. the "Year of the Swan"?
Prepare for 12 months of resurrection Priest
