Just try the "standard" mid-range hunter, it's for sure the cheapest deck (competitve deck) and it's arguably the strongest (at worst it's still tier 1). Other cheap options are Wall Priest which only runs Oakheart and Lich King and none of them are mandatory (You can definitely play without lich king but I would strongly recommend Oakheart as it wins a bunch of games when it comes down). After that other decks like Odd Paladin and Rogue are probably the cheapest options behind hunter but are definitely tier 2, you can still get to legend with those 2 tho.

Oakheart is rotating soon, worth mentioning if OP doesn’t play wild. Might want to go with cards that will get more mileage in standard.
Can i just ask, why is the Free to Play thing important? I mean, you have access to all the same cards that a Paying Player has.
What? Yes, technically any F2P player has "access" to the same cards as a paying customer, but it is a free to play game and people who don't invest money would also like to have a competitive deck to play with. It's not about it being important...
OP hasn't played for a while, probably doesn't have a large collection and just hasn't invested any actual money in to the game so therefore their option is to find a deck that doesn't cost a lot of dust (dust/gold = actual currency), so that is what they are looking for.
My collection should be public, but my standard legendaries are as follows:
Twig of the World Tree, Ixlid, Gonk, Deathstalker Rexxar, Rhok'delar, Zul'jin, Aluneth, The Last Kaleidosaur, Crystalsmith Kangor, Prince Liam, Sunkeeper Tarim, Awaken the Makers, Lyra the Sunshard, Bwonsamdi, Prophet Velen, Face Collector, Sonya Shadowdancer, Sherazin, Myra Rotspring, Tess Greymane, Valeera the Hollow, Thrall, Grumble, Al'Akir the Windlord, Dr. Morrigan, Bloodreaver Gul'dan, Fire Plume's Heart, Dr. Boom, Akali, Scourgelord Garrosh, Woecleaver, Prince Keleseth, Prince Taldaram, Whizbang the Wonderful, Cairne Bloodhoof, Genn Greymane, Hemet, Mojomaster Zihi, Azalina Soulthief, Countess Ashmore, Marin the Fox, The Lich King, Alexstrasza, Baku the Mooneater, Onyxia, Ysera.

You have enough stuff for plenty of decks.
Midrange Hunter is great, you're missing two copies of Master's Call (epic), but have Deathstalker Rexxar already.
Odd Paladin is great, and you have Baku, Leeroy, Corridor Creepers, and even a Witch's Cauldron, a pair of Void Rippers, and Prince Liam for alternative tech cards.
Secret Odd Mage is doing fine, and you have Jan'alai, Leeroy, and Luna - all the expensive pieces.
Even Paladin is OK, and you have Tarim, Lich King, Tirion, Genn, Kangor, and Corpsetakers. Val'anyr and Glass Knight are not mandatory.
There are probably more, but you should not have a hard time finding some decks to play. HSReplay.net can be used to find a good list, https://hsreplay.net/decks/ - filter by player class and archetype and sort by winrate and you get some idea of what is being played of various archetypes.
Hmm, I don't think you read my post. I don't have Leeroy or Janalai or Luna. I will check out that link, though. I think I can almost play Odd Paladin.
Can i just ask, why is the Free to Play thing important? I mean, you have access to all the same cards that a Paying Player has.
In any case, any Mid Range Hunter build is solid. As is Odd Rogue, even without Cold Blood.
How can you tell if someone is F2P? They'll let you know!
The Free to Play thing is important because in Hearthstone you don't get access to all the cards straight away. You have to either pay money to have access to the good cards or invest time to over the long run have access to the cards you need. Most humans do not have enough time to accumulate a collection with a Free to Play account that rivals what can be purchased by players willing to spend real money. Knowing that I don't have access to a full collection directs posters to respond with suggestions geared towards players on a budget, decks containing few epic and legendary cards and consisting mostly of commons and rares.
Unfortunately some snowflakes are offended by Free to Play players stating that they are Free to Play. The mystery of why this is will probably never be explained fully, but my guess is it is closely linked to a phenomenon known as buyer's remorse.

Okay, ignore my public collection, then. I can't seem to get Innkeeper to sync my collection properly. The list of legendaries I posted is accurate.
So I tried the midrange hunter deck posted here. It is absolutely godawful. Runs out of cards by turn 6. Of course most of my opponents were playing tier 1 netdecks, so I stood no chance against them (especially infinite armor druid and warrior).
Blizzard really needs to implement a Free to Play league so players can have a chance to win games without owning specific epics and legendaries.

I have not been playing on ladder much lately. Since the nerfs is there a reasonably cheap deck that can perform okay on ladder?
Any midrange Hunter is reasonably cheap and effective.

What does your legendary situation look like?

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔

Anything is effective if you highroll like the pros. Just accept the fact that 80% of game is rng, and you can play whatever you like :)

Save dust to craft golden Hall of Fame cards to double your dust after next expansion hits .

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Spell Hunter, Zul'jin is not 100% required. Though DS Rexxar is.
Or Odd Paladin, but that also requires Leeroy if you want consistent results.
I'll be blunt here and say straight up that if you want success on ladder, you'll need at least one legendary in any deck.
