The bans need to be BROADER. Not single card bans, but broad bans like, no Legendaries. Or, Common and Basic set cards only....
There needs to be "rooms" or servers with the different parameters for playing.
You could do a 3000 dust limit room for example.
No Death Knights or Hero cards......
You get the point.
Then there would areas for everybody's play style.
You could also implement tweaks to the rules like Tavern Brawls......
So many different possibilities. However, getting Blizzard to do this probably impossible.
What you're suggesting isn't a 'fix' to a perceived problem with Ladder though. That's just asking for a custom games lobby. Which I think everyone would agree would be a great feature to add.

Well, I believe this idea is a fix for ladder problems. Players will be able to choose which server they play on, and can avoid the problem cards, which also solves the ban problem at the same time. its a win win.
I agreed with bans, MTG do that for years when they create a card and after the release of the expansion if they check that card will be a problem they ban it from the currents formats!!! But i dont agreed bans in ladder by a player choice! Its blizzard job to understand what are the problematics cards and ban them and i believe if they made that just need to ban 3/4 cards that make some combos decks very hard to defeat!! Barnes are and example of a card that shoulda been ban from standard and wild in ladder !!! You can playit in normal games for memes but not in a competitive way
Its not like kingsbane ... "need a ban" they say well if you play it kingsbane you will understand that is a high skill deck with very bad matchups and you need to draw kingsbane and draw some buffs and the lifesteal ...to win a game and sometimes if they do the right moves and the right pressure you will lose because its hard to combine everything!!!
I agreed with bans but need to be on the very opressive cards that almost dont exist in heartstone maybe sometimes they shoulda ban classic set cards for during a year between the standard year because sometimes that limited the cards they can make for future expansions!!!! Imo
Sorry for my english
Bans exist in MTG because they can't nerf. They can't take a card away from the ecosystem and change it's wording. They can reprint new cards and stop printing old ones, but anyone with the old card can still use it as it's original state. So the only way to fix a broken card is with a Ban.
Since we are digital, we don't have to ban. We can nerf. Thus there's no reason to 'ban' a card when you can just nerf it away.
Note that they also nerf cards that aren't broken but getting in the way of card development. This was why they nerfed Hex and Mana Wyrm.
