as long as KFT and KNC are in standard it will be way too hard to compete with their cards, this is the last expansion of the year though so it is bound to be the strogest because it only has one year of shelf life, but if they overdo it like they did with Knc, since year of the Raven can probably be called year of the Kobolds and catacombs even after heavy nerfs to its cards(corridor creeper, spiteful summner, dark pact, lackey), we may probably see a year of Rastakhan come next april, tbh i'm rather curious to how a meta without knc and kft looks just because bomsday and witchwood actually managed to release some rather interesting cards that dont currently see play, who knows maybe we could see an Unexpected Results deck in spring of 2019.
Well, the new boss is confident that the expansion will shake the meta, so get ready for Gadgetzan v2.0
I'm hoping they are either pulling a "Low powered expansion that syergizes powerfully with last year's cards" or a "horribly mid ID the power level of this expansion".
The LAST thing we need is an expansion that either syncs with Witchwood/Boomsday or is powerful in itself.
bad news for you then, the expansion around this time is always planned to be powerful.
and unfortunately malagos is never rotating out, so cancerous otk decks will always exist

The reveal helps confirm the former idea though. Mage gets hero power based abilities and warlock gets discard mechanics.
So at this point we get:
Paladin team that spell buffs, like their quest.
Priest team that wants to die, which syncs wit their quest.
Mage team that focuses on their hero power, whcih their DK would REALLY like. They also get a legendary that works well with the quest.
Warlock that discards similarly to their quest (and keeps them from getting anything good, thanks to their insane DK :P).
Druid so far has a +5 attack minion that summons 5 attack minions (quest) and a minion that syncs with a higher attack hero power (DK)
Hunter that gets a 1/1 that makes another 1/1 (quest)
And a warrior card that works VERY well with their DK.
The only cards that aren't flat out tailored for last year's expansion is Rogue and Shaman, and both havn't shown many of their cards yet so it's still possible. Though given how insane Rogue's quest and Legendary weapon is and how I cacn't see HOW you can do something for the DK, I can't see much they can do there.
Point is, this set so far suggests it's trying to go for a high power level WITH Un'Goro/Frozen/Kobolds but not so much with Witchwood/Boomsday. Which means it MAY change the meta into overpowered insanity, then drop like a rock to a crap level once rotation hits.
Sidenote, Malagos can be HOFed as have other cards like it in the past. We had hte same impression with Ice Block last year and we correct there too. It might also not be HoFed, but it CAN be which is the point and the hope.

We haven't seen most of the cards and you are already saying that this expansion is much better? Wow! How old are you?

I'm pretty much convinced that this expansion will change nothing until the next rotation.
