They've gone to far this time for a hero portrait....sad times will come soon for HS with this kind of greed + irrelevant skill level, pure RNG playing OP decks of the moment.
(Former Legend Player when skill used to be a thing).
About topic: You will get on average half of the legendaries of the set, instead of buying 2 triple AAA (65$ US each) new videogames that are coming this year with amazing graphics and gameplay.
"instead"? I bought both bundles and will also buy every good game that will come out this year. Also most Triple A-A-Ass games cost 60$ on launch day and have a content value of 10-20h playtime while Hearthstone keeps me playing since over 1 year.
People compare the price to physical card-trading games like Magic and think it's a good deal. Physical card games have physical production costs, distribution costs, retailer costs/split profits (and TCGs are probably overpriced because they exploit the human desire to collect)... But HS is actually a computer game (with "unlockable" content), in which case it's paying $130 for let's say 80% of an expansion that "lasts" just 4 months before requiring another purchase to have the complete game... For me, that is beyond ludicrous. I'd actually say it is immoral to put up such a price compared to content/value/costs even if the market allows it.
I don't mean this as a bash at anyone who pre-ordered, I know you weighed the cost/benefit ratio and made a informed decision based on your circumstances. You're welcome to do so and I hope you get good cards in the packs and enjoy the game and experimenting with all kinds of decks etc.!
u can´t really compare physical card-trading games with computer games like HS. The reason (for me personally) why Hearthstone is a way better deal than any physical card-trading games is that it is a computer game...
u can play it on ur Phone while waiting for ur uberdriver, during class and in the office...
it´s online so u don´t need another nerd to be able to have fun with ur hundreds of dollar paper cards...
Whelp I got 7 legendaries from Witchwood from 70 packs, so it just depends on luck, ive only bought the 50$ one cuz ive got spare income, i was thinking of not buying itat all, but mechs are such nostalgia.
Magic ain’t cheep it’s like 300$ for box of magic all my cards I spent money on are in a giant storage box cause all my friends are grown up and don’t play anymore getting old sucks.
I’m not really saying you’re wrong, clearly Magic is expensive. But there is a big difference in that you can sell Magic cards. I had a buddy who recently sold all his magic cards for $5000. I don’t know how much he spent on them, but I do know this. Nobody ever got $5000 back from Hearthstone...
Just read through the thread and there are so many haters... I think 3 expansions per year are great! Keeps the game fun. If you do pay it is not that expensive (MTG was WAY more, and just because they had production costs, does not necessarily make it more fun for the players. Resale was always a fraction of costs unless you made it a job.)
I only play through my quests each day and earn 8000 dust between expansions, that is 80 free packs plus 52 packs a year for brawls plus other free giveaways. As long as you do not impulse buy with dust after releases you get every card you would want to play with for free. You do not NEED to pay a penny for this game to enjoy it. You just need to invest time.
And blizzard created the best entry legend ever! For 1600 dust you get to try so many decks, great idea!!!
I love this set so far, it is going to turn the meta upside down.
I might pay the $50 bundle, that free golden legendary is tempting. Or I will take my 80 packs from gold and enjoy the game free and buy next time, or the time after, or never, Blizzard has a fair system (although intimidating to get into).

Why are gamers always like this? You don't have to shit on one form of gaming to justify another. Hearthstone is great, and I will happily keep playing and do pre-orders. I love it. But you are fucking nuts if you think it delivers the same kind of experience that say, Gow of War offers for those 60$, those 10 - 20 hrs deliver a kind of fun that hearthstone, or indeed any medium, can't compete with.
I recently joined the MTG Arena beta, and you seem to get WAY more value from buying packs there than in HS. Packs are cheaper and give you more cards. You're also guaranteed the equivalent of 2 rares AND one epic or legendary per pack, and legendary (mythic rare) drop rates are higher.
So we get both our golden legends, our legendary from opening a new set in our first ten, then have three legends guaranteed from 120 packs leftover? So a total of 4 legends and two golden legends guaranteed? Plus the cosmetics, I think that's pretty sweet if it's all true! Plus no duplicates!
It's actually 7 guaranteed legendaries if you preorder both. 2 golden + 1 on release + 1 in first 10 packs + 3 if you hit pity timer 3 times in next 123 packs.

I still miss adventures...

The Dungeon run format was fun while it lasted, but i´d like some change. It just lacks the epic story telling of the classic adventure design :(
