Just a lot of very sad people playing Hearthstone. Degenerates and people with superiority complexes. I'd like something to change about Casual in that sense but tbh I don't think there's very much than can realistically be done.
The best I can think of is weekly bans (not by the community, but by Blizzard) in casual. They could ban the 5 best performing cards in Casual from the past week, every week. On top of that, Legendaries should not be banned except in extreme cases now and again, such as Tarim and Frost Lich which are not restricted to niche archetypes.
This is just a suggestion, and I don't think it would achieve exactly what we're going for. But ultimately there's not a lot you can do to curb the cowards that grind casual for gold.
EDIT: Btw, 'deck testing' for ranked is no longer a valid excuse. Not only is there a ridiculous amount of perfected tier 1 net decks being used more than just the one time, ranked has already been safe for testing for months now, at the 'safe ranks' 5, 10, 15, 20. If you're too much of a pussy of try your 'experimental tier 1 decks' at these ranks, don't make it other people's problems who are just playing casually.
I know where you are coming from but you have to accept that people don't change. (Almost) everyone wants to win, in order to do that they do all the tricks in the book. Moreover winning in casual is way easier than winning in rank mode, this is a fact. Briefly no matter what you say or do nothing is going to change in casual mode unless Blizz makes some serious changes which is very unlikely in the short term.
What kind of satisfaction do people get from playing tier 1 meta decks in casual? 10 gold per 3 wins? Are people really that desperate for gold?
The reward system in this game is so laughably bad. You should at least get something for playing. Playing 40 minute control games and losing wouldn't feel that bad if you got something for your time invested. No wonder people play aggro.
These days I have enough just completing my quests. Then it's over to some other card game with actual rewards.
I’ll chime in on this too as it’s been on my mind lately. I normally play ranked up to rank 5 then spend the rest of the season playing fun decks in casual. I’d go so far as to say it’s why I play the game. Some are competitive and some not so much. After witchwood I have noticed, more than ever, that people are only play even/odd paladin and cube lock in casual. Of course you can always attempt to counter these decks with your home brew but it does make playing the game very stale. Eventually people might settle down as the set is fresh but my god I’d enjoy some variety

Yeah it's pretty dumb when people are taking even/odd paladin and spiteful druid into casual. But hey I just go on there to finish quests in classes I don't like to play so I don't really care.
I just play my meme decks at rank floor now. I get off my 192 attack lysenna or otk malygos druid games at the same rate. If any of you wanna play some fun games you can msg me for my battle tag.
Casual is too much and something needs to be done about it. Class bans, card bans (since single card archetypes are now a thing and if I can ban Baku/Genn/DK Gul'Dan, I can eliminate a large portion of what I hate about Casual), or just stop rewarding 3/10g and quests in Casual.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
As I wrote elsewhere...
EVEN IF Casual was as competitive as Ladder, what's the real issue?
Because you can't play wacky, greedy decks? Ok, fine, but what's the point in winning or even just playing against a sub-par opponent?
EVEN THEN, in Casual you can still remorselessly concede until you find a fitting opponent.
And if you do not want competitiveness at all, then why play PvP mode, which is inherently competitive, by its very definition? Use Solo mode instead.

What's up with casual is that shit players need a way to do their daily quest quickly without risking their precious rank 14.
And given that human beings are pieces of shit by nature, they obviously don't care about ruining other people's fun to do so.
