If you are the sort of player who usually buys some packs, I'm sure you will regret not pre-ordering. There has never been an expansion that didn't contain enough must-haves to justify the cost. Some expansions may have been unpleasant or even bad for the game overall, but there are always numerous cards that see a lot of use even as the meta shifts with the expansions that follow.

I'm in the same boat. Either you're gonna need cards from this expansion, or you're quitting the game.
I like the idea of the recruit mechanic and legendary weapons and a lot of the new cards being released... I just don’t believe this expansion will have a significant impact on the meta. Cool cards just not very strong compared to what’s already in the game.
50 bucks already spent - a pile of gold and dust ready to use, The whole point of this game for me is opening packs and collecting cards to make wonky decks, and getting mad at the people who play disgusting netdecks in casual mode. I've no doubt this new set will breed some new horrible decks for me to hate :D
My friend preordered after only a few cards were revealed despite my warning. Now he makes this disappointed hum whenever a new card is revealed that doesn't impress him
The problem that I have seen in hearthstone new expansions is this. 80% of the card are garbage, 20% of the cards are good in which a few of the cards in the 20% end up being broken as hell. Pretty much every single expansion has been labelled as "The worst expansion ever" mainly because we tend to see most of the garbage revealed first.
In every single new expansion there has always been comments saying the expansion is going to suck, worst expansion ever, not wasting money on this expansion, not going to have an impact on the meta and every single time there are cards that fly under the radar, labelled as bad by the community and ended bending the meta over. It is like a repeating cycle, community initially unimpressed by card reveals, community says expansion is going to be the worse expansion ever, a new card ends up proving much more stronger that what the community originally thought it would be, a new deck comes forward and proceeds to break the meta, look at prince keleseth for example.
The grand tournament was probably the weakest expansion we ever had in hearthstone and it ended up spawning secret paladin, somehow and some way there will be a broken deck because of this set, at this point its pretty much guaranteed.

im not sold on recruit, seems really boring and cards with it will have to be terrible by design.
I wanted to pre order since I skipped on KoFT and regretted it a lot. But after seeing some of the cards I'm not so sure anymore. I have 4300 gold so far so maybe I'll end up spending that instead of pre-order money.
I'm still gonna wait till everything has been revealed.
I am on the fence, but will likely preorder next week. I have a sinking feeling we have not seen the broken cards yet, and what I have seen has given me ideas that will either make strong decks, or a few of mine better. I will have about 8k gold by release, but 130+ packs with the pre release would get me most of the cards worth playing, and/or enable me to fill in some legendaries I want from Classic and Ungoro.

That's quite an escalating mindset. How about the people that don't make a big deal out of new expansions and continue playing? I pre-order new expansions because Hearthstone has provided an unfathomable amount of entertainment (and frustration) and I will continue to play until I grow out of it. People make too much of new expansions. Pre-order or don't. Play or don't.
$50 to release feel good chemicals in my brain for 5 minutes followed by immediate regret and playing quick match only to realize i cant fucking get anywhere with my fun decks to only quit a week later til the next xpac? no thanks.
Learned my lesson, I will play the dungeon thing tho, that looks mega fun and is free.

Anyone else thinking that this expac is going to suck?
I feel like they are running out of ideas.
Might not even blow my 5k gold for packs on this one. Looking more and more like a 'sit this one out' expansion.
I'm not wasting any money on it.
I pre-ordered, but I don't think it's a waste.

looks like this expansion will bring some really broken shit though, playing meme decks in first couple of weeks might be really fun.
$50 every 3 months to feed my gacha habit? Oh hellz yes.
Ibn Fahd.
I bought every expansion pre buy.... Until now.

I not only wasted the $50, I'll probably waste another $50, plus the 5000 gold I'll have saved up by then. Can't wait!

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
