Looking at the cards, yes there are underwhelming factors but in general this could be quite a cool, fun expansion. though, cool or fun dont really justify spending 50 bucks on it. what are your thoughts, is it worth it?
I'd say it depends how much gold and dust you have saved, OP.
I tend to go for opening around 100 packs at launch of each expansion, as this usually gives all the commons, 95-100% of the rares, a good portion of epics and legendaries and enough dust to craft the remaining cards for the decks I want to play.
IF you're planning on buying packs anytime soon after the expansion hits, then yes for the discount alone. If you're not buying any packs in the near future, or if you're a f2p player, then no. I bought it and have no regrets, regardless of the expansion quality. It's just a good deal on packs.
Do you like the game? Do.you wanr the freedom to do whatever you want in the game? Then buy packs! If not, don't!
Do you want to keep on playing hs? Then support the makers... usually having the presale plus 40 to 60 extra packs plus the gold packs nets me the possibility to play whatever i want.... 100 Usd every 4 months is dirty cheap for a good tcg... when i played magic i needed (at least) 1200 a year to have fun and complete gamesets...

You can get almost 2 new full-value games for 50 bucks, so unless you're swimming in money, buying hearthstone packs is an extremely bad investment. I would consider paying 50$ if it gave me all cards from that expansion, maybe.
LOL he thinks other games are a "good investment" xD
The comparison is pointless. If you feel like the cards are worth it, go for it. 50-100 packs goes a long way.
In my experience, less than that will leave me wanting more. But if you're a halfway decent arena player, that's also a good place to get more packs after launch.
Well ... if you enjoy the game, and pre-order price is less then ~5% of your 4 months salary then why not? Only someone who "fap" every time when writing "I'm f2p" shouldn't buy packs never-ever :)
Why to keep gold till next exp and not having fun during "season" by buying few more packs for gold (eg. for "zeroing" legend pity timer) or arena entrance from time to time? Of course keeping some is wise, but why restrictions like no gold spending at all.
This ~50 bucks/eur is just "few" beers/month less in pubs ... no big deal after all ;)
I will toss in another factor. How long have you been playing, how big is your collection? If your relatively new like me, I started playing one month before Ungoro, there are a lot of cards you need/want. I know of at least 3 classic legendaries I need/want. I pre ordered Ungoro and I am glad I did. It has been easier to win and gain more gold through quests with a larger base of cards. I pre ordered KFT to make sure I have packs, and I have 7k gold. I will keep an eye on opening packs and the pity timer, buying 5 packs at a time after the pre order and other free packs. If I cant open 40 packs for the next KFT legendary I will switch to classic packs to try and get the legionaries I need. If I dont get them I will have a lot of dust to make cards. If you have the cash, do it, if your struggling to make ends meet, dont.
I think it's worth it. 50$ isn't much money but I guess depends on your budget. Pre ordering gives you a chance to get tons of good cards and a nice exclusive card back. Also no worries for duplicates now.

in my opinion its worth it, at least 2 legendaries guaranteed just from the packs, a good amount of dust and a nice looking cardback.

I stacked 7.5k gold plus 12k~ of dust. Probably it will be enough to get/craft the playable cards remaining of the expansion.

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
Go for it,everything is relevant in Wild, and of course wild is way more fun to play!

Go for it, support the game if you enjoy! Buying packs is like buying playtime so it is worth it if you have the money!

50 packs for price of 40 is nice deal. IMO worth every buck.
Preorder is evident yes for me and only real money I would spend on HS.
(Well maybe some GvG packs too, but still not sure...)
