I dont know if anyone has noticed, but the number of hunters have gone down ive reached ranked 10 and its more of Zoolock and control warrior/priest is the current decks I see the most.
I wont say Priest is a good counter to hunters. I think its just the number of Control warrior has gone up so much, Priest is an answer against Warriors.
Mind control and Ysera are seeing more play because the meta has slowed down
No, it's just you. Try switching your current class and you'll find the statistics go completely different. Hunter is still dominant because it's the only counter against zoolock, whilst zoolock is the cheapest deck that guarantees success in climbing up legend.
I must disagree. I usually play a lot as hunter and find a lot of matchups against other hunters - probably the ones you had the chance to avoid.
Hunter deck is cheap to craft and efficient, and it will be present as long as blizzard doesn't nerf it, boost other cards. That or some new deck that completely changes the metagame
I don't play Ranked games often; I much prefer playing Arena games, but I did find the Meta really changed between Monday where I played with a hunter deck (from Rank 18 to 14) and only lost twice. Then, on Wednesday, I played with two different variations of Hunter decks (I was expecting more Hunter mirrors), and lost to two Miracle Rogue decks and two Control Warrior decks, barely managing to stay in Rank 14 with wins against random decks including Zoo and Priest. I think I only played one other Hunter deck.
I'm not saying that Hunter is less viable than it was last season, but the Meta keeps changing everyday. (Maybe I should just stay away from the Ladder this week.)
I don't know where else to post this, but I just had the most satisfying win against a hunter ever... Playing my new Pally deck and he never got me under 20 health. He was at 5, cast buzzard + UTH + Hunter's Marked my 5/6 guy, then ignored my Cairne and attacked me. I used Faceless Manipulator on one of his hounds and finished him off with it to bring him to exactly 0. :)))
Nah, Hunter is still super strong; people are probably feeling more reluctant to playing it at the moment because of others countering the deck with Control Warrior/Paladin and Tempo Priest, for example, though those matchups aren't impossible for Hunter if you get a good hand.
lots of good feedback here. agree that hunter is still the most popular deck by a giant margin, but more and more players are running control to counter it, thus slowing down the meta. You'll see plenty of zoo and hunter through rank 10 for the speed factor though. i think miracle rogue is staged for a comeback (*wince*) and that the new midrange shaman deck that Trump and others have been sporting is going to rise up on the ladder as well. personally i just don't like the shaman playstyle.

Face Hunter is still one of the best latter decks for players looking for their first time legend (such as myself :p) as they're usually pretty quick games, and not too much of a downer to lose with because of this, though Control Paladin/Warrior and Tempo Priest are its hard counters in the current meta due to heals. I think you're probably just playing against players that have already been to legend, who they play control for more consistency, ultimately bringing wins if they're able to shut down all of the Hunter's plays (thus why Harrison Jones is a popular pick in the current meta for these counterdecks to deal with Eaglehorn Bow adequately.) Obviously Zoo suffers from similar problems from these decks too, but it is a bit weaker than the Hunter deck because Hunter hard counters it as well.
Edit: I suppose I could count Ramp Druid as well as a "counter" to Hunter, though Hunter's Mark and the common inclusion of x1 Ironbeak Owl makes this matchup a bit easier.

Hearthstone is a game of "copy and pasting"
Maybe it's 'cause Priest and Control Warrior are counter to Reynad's Mad Trapper in my experience.
HE HAS Leper GnomeS!!!

Why would switching class make it any different? You'd still be playing at the same rank.
No, we aren't falling. We're just chilling at higher ranks! ^.^
Lost access to my internet for over a year - glad to be back :3
