Priest was never as bad as the forums would have you think (shocker). The nerfs also had an (if any) absolutely miniscule impact on priest decks. The reason you're seeing a lot more priest is because there's a new skin out and people want to try out the same decks with a different hero.

Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
Resurrection Priest variants are actually not bad at all. People are still trying to find that optimal version of the deck, but it can win against faster decks or control. I played some games today and won against control warrior, midrange hunter, zoolock and even Anyfin Paladin - but to be fair, he had a horrible hand and I stole his Anyfin, which I played before he did and OTK'd him with the combination of that and my existing board. Sometimes it wins in a spectacular fashion, out-valuing the opponent and out-healing the damage with Priest of the Feast. Sometimes, you have nothing to play and you lose on turn 6 while passing turns.
The real reason why you see more priests, however, is Tyrande.
Most of the priests I am playing against are not Tyrande. In fact most of Gold priests, which tells me experienced players are finding priest more viable.

Not necessarily true, Priest had the worst winrate last patch (44% for dragon priest and resurrect was worse) and still has a bad winrate now. With Tyrande, a lot of people are playing it and it can stifle aggro sometimes if you draw your AoEs.
priest still in bad spot. Lack of card reliable card draw. Depend starting hand and top deck to win. Very inconsistent. You can have perfect resurrect combo in turn 3 but may also end up with crappy hand or ressurrect target getting hex

As long as shammies are dominant, hex hard counters both res and Nzoth priest. I gave up on priest, couldn't get past rank 10 with it, doing much better with shammy/warrior.
Is it just me or has the recent round of nerfs allowed for a lot more Priests to become viable? I see them so much more frequently now!

Priest was, and still is the bottom of the barrel. Look to any competitive hearthstone tournament and you will see no Priests, or one...
People enjoy playing something different so they try out Tyrande and some monkey / res stuff. Usually doesn't last long.

Tyrande part is true
It's more like the rise of Tyrande, and the fall of Anduin.....

PLz raise fellow priest, whisper from my rogue :D
Finding less priests as I move up the ladder, haven't seen one past rank 14.
Maybe it was just the lower ranks, which would explain a lot.
Maybe below rank 10. But this month i only meet 1 priest and iam rank 13 atm due to trolling to much
