Ancestral control shaman crushes the more popular aggro lists (I refuse to call that spew with fire elemental a "mid-range" deck). It's expensive though.
Don't do it man. Don't become part of the cancer, that's how it spreads
Shaman = Cancer?
Another player opting to play Shaman instead of Warrior is really like a cure.
Shaman absolutely = cancer. Part of the reason there are so many warriors is because it beats Zoolock, Hunter and Shaman which were aggro decks that made up 70%+ of ladder. If anything Warrior = cure if it's stopping players from playing such aggressive decks.
Don't mind Mr. butts, him and other low rank players who complain about shaman, are likely seeing a lot of them in the very low ranks. Cause most low rankers don't have the cards to play any warrior deck. However overall the warrior is uber dominant right now, by far the most common class, most versatile class, and strongest. Warrior common cause countering aggro? Lol aggro is at its lowest point in a long while, so this is a poorly thought of excuse.

I'm actually rank 4 right now and have hit legend before...I do agree that there a lot of Warriors on ladder right now but let's not pretend like there were this many warriors last month. Aggro shaman was one of the top tier decks right before the Old Gods release and was the #1 deck a week or two after the Old Gods release and has been very good up until a week or two ago. So somehow the very deck that everyone agreed was cancer for 3-4 months isn't cancer anymore because it lost a little bit of steam recently?
As long as 4 mana 7/7 exists, you can't call Warriors a cancer. That's a powercreep that needs to be nerfed. It's unhealthy for the game because it allows future powercreeps. Soon we'll have 3 mana 6/7 or something like that, you'll see.
Just because you don't like a deck...doesn't make it cancer.
Just because everyone plays a deck...doesn't make it cancer.
People play certain decks because they want to win. If the win comes quickly (aka aggro) then play the deck and take the win. If you don't like to win quickly then play a control or mid-range deck and quit whining about people playing aggro decks. Aggro decks are just as much a part of the game as control or mid-range decks so get used to them.
Nothing in hearthstone, no card or deck or class, is cancer. Never has been, and never will be. People like to win, when they don't well the more intelligent people try to improve themselves or try different ideas. The more feeble minded resort to petty name calling like 'cancer' 'huntard' 'smorc' 'braindead' and all types of nonsense.
Lol the ironic thing about this discussion is that you guys only have you guys to blame for the ladder. If lots of people play zoo, obviously people are going to counter it by playing warrior. Vice versa for Shaman. Zoo beats shaman and Shaman beats warrior so it's going to be a never ending cycle. This is why there is no such thing as a diverse meta in Hearthstone cause the meta is defined by what you guys play.

That was topdecked? Nah, it was because I let the Heart of the Cards guide me ;)

Totally agree but I think as long as people value winning and rank above playing a fun deck it won't happen. I still tried to make mill rogue work and lost 4 games in a row but when I played a C'thun warrior and managed to mill off C'thun it was the awesome. Still, I went 2-7 with that deck so I doubt anyone would play it on ladder.
Just finished a game. I had about 24 health with shields. Shaman had nothing on the board. He had two charges left on his Doomhammer. Two Rockbiters and two Lava Bursts. Sh*t happens.
There is no cancer deck. I can play any deck I want. Everyone who feels the need to explain the game in this thread is welcome to do so, but you are not nearly as clever as you think you are. I posted originally because I was getting reamed by Shaman decks that can burst like crazy. Frost Mage can burst like crazy too. Takes them a bit longer, but whatever.

To butt in as someone who is currently running a pack of y'saarj decks for the fun of it.
Mill .. is not fun. Oh it's fun for the miller, but fighting mill decks are NOT fun. They aren't fun in other games where they are truly viable. If they were anywhere near reliable they would not be fun here either. A deck who's entire purpose is to nullify everything that you do while making you sit around until you run out of cards is NOT going to be fun to fight against. You seeing a C'thun burned might be fun for you. Having your entire deck burned with you having nothing you can do except hope they mess up or RNG messes up their flow is NOT fun for most opponents.
So please, when talking about 'preferring winning over fun' note whether you are talking about 'fun for the game' or just 'fun for me' because I would say that you are preferring what you deem as fun over everyone else's fun.

This, warriors are the real cancer
Cancer = the deck you don't like.
If what you don't like is aggro, then Shaman will remain 'cancer'. If what you don't like is the most common deck out there, then Warrior will be 'cancer'. Interestingly enough, it also means the 'other deck' ends up being the cure.
What's 'cancer' is opinion, so no point in arguing with others who don't see your Cancer the way you do, anymore than talking about what is fun for some and not fun for others.
OP, if you want to play Shaman, then fine go for it. Though really there's decks that beat it rather handily, so if you're just bothered with dying to Shaman, I'd opt for THOSE decks instead. Though there IS good reason to play the deck you hate in order to see what it dies to.

I have 2 golden heroes: Priest and Warlock. Priest came first. But Shaman just crushes me, so I am pulling a Kevin Durant.

Just a fan of the game posting. Have fun.
Play OTK shaman and abuse Rockbiter Weapon and Windfury. It is very fun to have like 34 damage outa no where.
No kidding. I was impressed.
