Went from rank 10 to 5 today in a couple hours with this little homebrew aggro warrior. Pretty fun. Got alot of wins by simply catching people off guard cause people aren't playing around cards like rampage.
Now is a good time to make the climb to 5. Basically any decent aggro deck can get you there quickly.
Took the last rank today, started tempomage but where facing too many secret paladins and mirror matches. Swapped to Controlpriest and viola im rank 5 (took me a couple of hours).
That was more or less my ladder experience yesterday. Secret palas, zoo, a couple of tempo mages and a bunch of control priests. I switched from zoo to freeze mage.
I don't think Tirion is a must in that deck. I actually even took him out and replaced him with a consecration to get some board-clear in case I need it. Tirion was usually either a 'too little too late' card, or a 'win more' card.
Secret pally usually either finishes around round 10, or loses. That's my experience, anyway :)
I did ranks 17 to 5 secret paladin the past 3 months/seasons. Takes about 5-6 hours total per season counting the time in between matches, queue time, snack break, etc. Usually like high 70s to 90% winrate depending on season (was in the 80s this season). Personally don't think Tirion is a big deal for these low brackets, I actually considered swapping him out for a consecrate since I ran into a bunch of zoo this season and Tirion only turns out useful like a few times per season.
Certain decks are arguably better than others but how good a deck is matters alot less than how good you perform with it. You want to play the deck you pilot best and if you don't know which one that is you need more practice before climbing the ladder that high.
Everybody complains about noobs playing zoolock and secretpaly to legend.. everybody plays secretpally or zolock "because they are good enough to go there ith a complicated deck, but don't have the time". same story every season....

Modgnik EU nr1 zoo will get you easy to rank 5.
Brutal efficiency: Secret Paladin/Combo Druid
Fun: Tempo Mage/Oil Rogue
Interesting: Renolock/CW/CP
Fast Games: Aggro Shaman/Zoo

Okay, I've done it with Kolento Priest, had like 70% win ratio from rank 9 to rank 5, mostly on win strike :)

I started playing Zoo this season and its super fun!
Today I reached for 9 to 7 and it wasn't that hard (If I wasn't against Freeze Mage/Secret Pali) and I want to reach 5 untill the end of the season.
Give Zoo a try ;)
got down to rank 6, 2 stars off 5 with a reno lock deck yesterday.
spent all day today facing aggro and secret pallies and dropped back up to 9; even with decent early game, just getting massively out valued
