Why is everyone saying "rip" certain cards? You can still rank up in "wild mode" which lets you use any cards you want like dr boom etc.. so why am I seeing people say rip dr boom/ makes no sense at all.
Why would wild die in a year or so? From my perspective wild would end up being much bigger than standard after some expansions.
agreed, wild is not dying anytime if ever. Wild is the mode everyone will mostly stay on. I dont see any reason why people would choose to play without dr boom etc.

Wild won't be balanced, they'll focus on standard. Streamers will focus on standard because points. People that follow said streamers and netdeckers will focus on standard because they are sheeps. So wild is going to die soon enough.
streamers and said sheep can have fun doing that while i rank up on wild to get legend finally idc about them.
Because they want to use those cards "competitively," not for fun.
you mean at tournaments and stuff? I thought ranked was competitively.
Standard is going to be the Ranked mode that matters more to people who play competitively because of monthly rewards like golden chests and dust. Playing well in Ranked Wild will only matter a little more than it does in casual since things like BlizzCon points are awarded to people playing "Ranked Standard".
Edit: I believe they said official tournaments will use standard sets as well.

Because Dr. Boom fucking sucks to play against? Most people would prefer to play in a well balanced game, thanks.

you get the chests and dust in either mode, the only reason why people would play standard is to get tournament points or whatever that ish is. I have no use for it so I am happy.

lol have fun playing in a well balanced game when everyone and their brother is going to be paying freeze mage on standard and you will get smashed.
just like legacy dying in magic the gathering, wil will eventually bite it as well. Everyone will focus on standard. New players will have 0 of the cards for wild, when all of their friends only play standard- they will only play standard as well. For us "veteran" players, we could either play wild a bit, or have a ton of stuff to disenchant for new seasons. I want to hit legend soon, so that I do not have to pour money into a game that now "rotates" like mtg. I wouldn't mind pouring in the money if it was physical cards, but digital is just too much. It's not an asset like mtg was.

Lets imagine the following - they print more pally secrets. In Standart it can be balanced cause only some will be in play, In wild ALL secrets will be avaliable. So we have MC - ok in standart due to limited secret pool (no Avenge BTW it is Nax card) but in Wild it will be WILD! So you sure want to play in a mode where one card can pull off 6+ secrets in a moment? I think no. Thats only one example of card becoming more and more OP with card pool increasing. Lock and Load another story - probably will be ok in Standart but at some point it will become OP in Wild with new upcoming hunter secrets. So wild will be populated with OP cards and OP decks. Not so funny.

It will die in a sense that it will never be balanced. Don't like Mysterious Challenger? Think Mad Scientist or Dr. Boom deserve a well handed nerf? Tough luck, pal! Now with Wild mode Blizzard don't have to ever bother balancing cards anymore, just push them into this new format. And that's not account potentially NEW broken cards! Who will honestly keep playing this mode when everything you face is a Secret Paladin player or any fotm for the matter?

Why freeze mage in particular? They're more capable of playing freeze mage in wild mode. Freeze mage will be losing mad scientists which are a key component to the deck.

There is absolutely nothing preventing Blizzard from banning cards in Wild (at least ranked) after they release the Standard, and that is the common procedure in MTG, for example. People that say that Wild will be unbalanced and unplayable have absolutely no basis for saying that. It might end up happening, and it might not. We will see, but as of yet, there is no reason to think it will.
