I have no doubt the more serious among you have allready been contemplating deck strategies, and I have a question related to that. The way I see it there's 2 main ways to go about deckbuilding (both in beta and in the live game later): You go after 1 specific Hero and build a deck for him by disenchanting cards and crafting what you need OR you simply take whatever you get and choose a champion that best matches the cards you have.
The first way is more concentrated on getting the actual deck you have in mind to play, but will probably take longer to get together (since I have no doubt that disenchanting/crafting is an inefficient process to a degree) and will set you back in any card collection completion. The second way will let you get you more cards, but they'll be all over the place so you might not get all the cards you want or need for a deck-build you want for some time. The rest are just variations between these 2 main ways of handeling early game deckbuilding, leaning to either side.
So, how are YOU going to handle early game deckbuilding?

My current plan is to try and make the Hero I want to play first the best possible deck before I start building up the others. As of right now, this is likely to be the Shaman, although Hunter is a close second. I'll probably play a few matches as each hero before I really make my decision. But, after I finally make that decision I'll start beefing up that particular deck!
i dont have a deck becouse im a smart mother fucker why should i make it now if the FUCKING GAME is not playable and i just tease myself like a retard .....
...He's asking about your plan for when the game is released? And besides, forming hypothetical decks doesn't make anyone a retard... Some people enjoy theorycrafting with different possibilities and combinations.
its the same is watching porn and want to fap but cant because your chastity belt will be open on release date. beside , the cards can change drastic until then.
I play >>> THE IN YOUR FACE CARD : Slap face for 3 damage
I definitely vote for getting a rough collection of cards first. I will be exhausting vs CPU mode to unlock a decent handful of cards, then I'll craft my thought out PvP deck. That being said, I plan to get some solid "Forge Time" in (while carefully budgeting my booster pack spending), as that will be a great way to bolster a card collection.
ps: That being said, once I get enough "cheap" cards to fill my deck and troll opponents with, I will probably be ready to fine tune my deck via PvP mode.

The fact that you're comparing porn to hearthstone is pretty sad... Regardless, you can have whatever opinion you want, the problem I have with you is that you were degrading towards others in your posts. That's just uncalled for, please grow up. And using the "retard" insult is extremely insensitive.
How's everyone going about it on release? Do you think you'll dive right into F2P mode or invest an extra $20 or so for a bit of customization from the start?

I'll probably do primarily F2P. Although, it depends on prices. If packs are only a dollar like they said they might be a while ago, then I may invest a bit to get a head start. Just have to wait and see what the prices look like.
I'm with Nox. I think "investing" $20 early to take advantage of playing Forge and having a couple extra cards to work with is credible. But only if Blizzard sticks with the "$1.00 per pack" they mentioned.

Probably also depending on how many packs it costs to play in the forge. I'm too much a noob to card games to jump right in and be succesful in Forge mode, but it is something I'll want to start doing at some point when I know a bit more about card games and HS in particular. :)

It's 3 packs =D 15 Basic cards (free) and 15 Expert cards (from your 3 packs) ^_^

Wait, what's the benefit of winning then? if that's what you get anyway? Just better (weekly) rating?

You get 1 pack per victory starting on the 5th victory =]
After losing 3 times, you are "eliminated."
Essentially, if you get 7 victories before you get 3 losses, you win back 3 Booster Packs, which you can then re-enter the Forge with! Of course none of the Forge picks are golden cards, but you can still get Legendaries and Epics.
if you open the 3 packs regulary you get 15 expert cards
if you open them via forge youll get ~15 expert cards aswell, but you can choose out of up to 45 expert cards
so why would anyone ever open the packs regulary unless he really wants golden cards?
Dunno. When looked at like that I might as well play in the Forge as soon as I can, cause Golden Cards are not as interesting to me as getting a complete collection and being able to plat any hero I want with any deck I want. Getting more cards is always better in that respect.

1) You can't get golden cards. People like their fluff. The only people who will Forge consistently are people who like the format more than they like Constructed.
2) You only get to choose out of 3 random classes, unlike regular booster packs that can give you anything. This argument goes both ways, though, as it also helps round up your collection. But each time you enter the Forge, you commit 3 Booster packs to ONE class only (+ Neutrals, obviously).

Well the benefit is that you get your cards. However, you will also be able to get additional packs from winning forge matches. I think the details on how/when you get free bonus packs during a forge session are still to be finalized. One thing you can be sure of, if you are an awesome player and win a lot in the forge, you will likely bank a significant amount of extra booster packs and thus cards.
The real question, is how competitive will it be to earn back your three packs you paid to enter?

Ah thanks both. I was unaware of those extra win conditions, I just knew the 3 losses, 20 wins rules.

i could make a smart reply but i wont , save my time TILL THE GAME comes
Considering I mostly cube and draft when I play card games nowadays, I feel like I'm going to do well in Forge :)
