<Frak> the RNG on this staple card. A staple card (which would be used regardless) should NOT have a 50/50 chance to make or break a game. Fix it to just 1 set of stats or base it on the card's cost/HP/Atk or anything to take away the damn RNG. I used to be bothered about Nat Pagle, and still kind of am, but I've grown to absolutely loathe Tinkmaster.
For one of the more OP cards in the game, there isn't much to complain about. You get a 2/2 body and can turn anything into either a 1/1 or 5/5 all for 3 mana. very useful when your opponent plays a ragnaros or ysera and then it's just a crappy minion

Who agrees?
I agree. Only because I would like to see less RNG in this game. Imagine if you dropped a mad bomber and you threw bombs at a target... and some times they bounced to the enemy hero. Theres no he "Might" kill my creatures he "Might" kill their whole feild ect. I would like to see tink master turn the creature into a 3/3 monkey. Not a 1/1, not a 5/5, its right smack dab in the middle AND it can clear the tink master out right, without dying.
Two games ago a Rogue played Argent Squire.I played nothing on turn one and a silverhand recruit on turn two. Then turn two the Rogue Tinkmastered the Squire into a Devilsaur (ironic considering I posted on here before) and then proceeded to tear me a new arsehole.
Now I can either come on here whining about how I was ranked 11 on 3 (my joint highest ever rank btw) star and on a 3 game winning streak or I can tip my cap at that player.
I have never seen that play before and I must admit he played and got.
It's one reason why I like this game and now I'm thinking of enchanting a Tinkmaster myself. It looks like fun as hell.
The point of this post from the OP is not to whine about the card. Its to point out that what if the guy you played against got a 1/1 ? Its completely RNG, its luck, and winning purely off luck doesnt make the game compeditive.

I do like the idea of making it a 3/3 100% of the time, but Blizzard seems to like the RNG cards.
I just don't see the point of playing a game if your unhappy with the RNG aspects of the game.
He also has another thread going on 'mentioning' the RNG of MInd Control Tech taking his best card on the board.
If people are unhappy with the game then there is shit tons of other games to play.
Why are you on the forum if not to discuss the game? :S
If you think the game is perfect that's your prerogative as a casual player but some of us have a more competitive mindset so please take your ideals elsewhere.

^. I love the game. I just imagine it being better, and the possibilities are there.
Well there is the other way to go which is not to use RNG cards in your deck. There is no rule saying you have to use the card. I know a lot of players who refuse to use the RNG cards because of the possibility it could hurt you. That's my favorite part of the game, deck building.

But it goes both ways. Some one say tinks your creature... And gets lucky. Suddenly RNG dictated that he gains an advantage rather then giving you a 3/3 monkey and no RNG invovled.

removing the rng and giving 3/3 would make him way too strong, you could use him liberally on almost anything, including your tokens and stuff and get great value out of him. he would need to cost more, like 5 atleast.
I think everyone can agree the purpose of Tink is to take care of large threats that have some text on their card (Rag, ysera, Tirion, etc). So if that is the main function of the card, than a 5/5 is much better and a 1/1 is a dream. Nothing wrong with it. If you have Tink in your deck and you are counting on the 1/1 you aren't playing correctly. You play Tink with the thought...what am I going to do with a 5/5 afterwards and smile when you get a 1/1. If the 5/5 "breaks your game," then the original target was going to break your game anyway.
Now you can use Tink to RNG your own 1/1 into a 5/5 and that is one use of the card, but you deliberately built in a 50% chance to fail so stop complaining.
I am not commenting on its relative power compared to other cards in the game.

I agree with this. also, (use Arnold voice) "Stop Whining!"
Tink is functionally used as a Silence for midrange threats like Cairne Bloodhoof and Sylvanas Windrunner. You're trying to shut off their effects; a 50% chance to make them a cute 1/1 Squirrel is just a bonus.
If you're trying to use Tink as a 3-drop and just hitting whatever target, you're seriously misusing the card. It's a situational drop in control decks typically used turns 6 and later at the earliest. Tink and Nat Pagle don't belong in every deck, and even when they do belong, they can easily be misused.
(edit) I was ninja'd by like ten other posters. Ha ha. >.>
Also re: "competitive mindset" - Wanting to minimize elements of chance is not indicative of a competitive mindset, but a controlling one. Anyone that disagrees with what you wrote simply isn't competitive? hmph.
If you see a post that you find objectionable, report it, it helps keep the forum clean. But be aware people are allowed a lot of latitude.
If you find my posts to be rude, objectionable, or whatever, well, I got tired of writing polite TL; DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) posts at crybaby whiners. So now I just make it short and nasty.
If you find that funny, well and good. If you find that sad, that's even better.
No one here seems to understand the fundamental issue. Say for example I play Tinkmaster Overspark on my opponent's Cairne Bloodhoof, and it turns into a 5/5 Devilsaur. I have an answer for the Devilsaur which, at best, costs 1 card/resource. My opponent, in exactly the same position, does the same thing, but gets Squirrel instead, so he doesn't have to use any resources. He is now at a huge advantage from exactly the same correct play.
Justify that to me. Explain why it would be impossible to improve the game without retaining that gamebreaking RNG. I see no reason for it at all, other than an oversight by Blizzard that this card would be incredibly relevant in competitive play.

Oversight? It's completely on purpose, RNG on competitive TCG/CCGs is nothing new, and just as it swings one way, it can swing another. Some people enjoy it, others don't. It also heavily affects decision making "Do I go for the 30% chance or play something else?". It also helps to avoid games from being pretty much like chess, or even rock/paper/scissors.
Also, most folks seem to understand the "issue", we just don't consider it an "issue". Maybe you are the only one that doesn't understand (I know, I know, how did I dare type that...)

Very on topic, cheers for that.

Did you know that if you only get halfway through your deck (a common occurrence) you only have a 50% chance of drawing it in the first place?
RAGE! Stupid random card draw! (etc etc)
So I'm the only one on a so-called competitive Hearthstone forum that thinks Tinkmaster's gamebreaking RNG is unnecessary to the card's purpose?

Tinkmaster would be too OP if it wasn't random. And it's already fairly OP.
HandLock is too much fun.

Silence on Ragnaros the Firelord Alexstraza, same thing. When you're up against a really nasty fatty,Tinkmaster Overseer is always plus, regardless of RNG. Works on Earth Elemental, whatever.

Just change it into 100% chance for a 6/6 and we're done.
