Well I need to see the confirmed nerf-list before I can say if this card is good enough. Without a BGH nerf his immideate impact will be to weak for sure. Otherwise he may be quite strong.
I don't get you people who hate him because of the lore. The lore of Hearthstone is that it is a card game inside of WoW -> No card can break the wow lore because it is basically a game in a game. This specific expansion is about "What if, everything gets corrupted" -> This card isn't out of lore in any way, a corrupted Ragnaros might become a healer. We also saw a hentai-Hogger.. Hardly anyone complained that this card isn't 1:1 in wow. (It's also the same "What if this character gets corrupted")
This reasoning doesn't fly. We didn't say anything about Hogger getting tentacles because that makes sense: a "normal" mob gets corrupted by the Old Gods thus becoming even more vile and malformed. Why the hell is "corrupted by super-evil" Ragnaros actually make him turn into a good guy? It doesn't make a lick of sense.
This is the reasoning of a DC comics book. Hearthstone is a well-humored game, not a dark and sinister one.
What the fuck does this even matter? We're talking of logic here, Evil doesn't turn Evil people Good, it makes them more Evil.
I don't know if anyone's thought of this but I wonder if they were thinking that this is Ragnaros before the old gods him. the elemental Lords predate the Titans and the old gods. then again I'm no Lord expert from wow so I could have missed existing lore.
great art card. interesting build card, will see play. ill kill to know what both or Rags will say when they encounter in the game one against other...
I hate this card so much, how about we just call it "Lord, Lack of Effort".
unless this is some sort of preview for something in the new WoW expansion. Then I'll give it a pass, if it's not I think blizz just threw darts at fan made reddit cards
I like that he does not appear to be using legs, even now that he is apparently on a crusade against the old gods.
Also i think he didn't get the memo of Neptulon being kidnapped by an old god and that the old gods hav been manipulating the elemental lords in the lore for basically ever.
When I first read the name Ragnaros and the effect of this card I thought : 'Well, ... it's no bad , it's just meh', then I realized that it can attack and it was like 'wow, that's a card' amazing!
I loved this card. For me it will see play, even with BGH unerferd. Even if I hate RNG, this one is very easy to control.
Lorewise, well, I like this "what if" in comic so i liked here too. I understand people getting sad for the lore... but honesty I never took anything in Warcraft serious since drunken pandas and a Taureen musician showed up.
What I strong disagree is the reason some people are saying this card is shit:
1- Paladin doesn't have early minions - well, this one is a legendary, most of then are 6+ mana, so I don't see the point to complain about that HERE. When Blizzard shows all common cards its the time to complain about early game, if necessary;
2- Lightwell and Healing totem doesn't see play, so this one will not see play as well - the reason Lightwell and the totem don't see play is because they are 0 attack minion, so the opponent rams any crappy minion to kill it and still have the board AND mana to play something else. Ragnaros will trade at minimum 1x1 and heal 8 on top of that, so the comparison with antique healbot is more accurate.
It's true that in a 1 vs 1 scenario the Firelord would own this Lightlord, but this Ragnaros will see play most likely. If BGH gets nerfed it may even take place of Lay on Hands.
I want the devs to confirm if this is an uncorrupted version of ragnaros (before the old gods) or if it is supposed to be a re-corupted to the good side version. I would like the first option much more.

If you have full health he can attack a minnion smaller than him kill it and then heal himself to full health. Yeah pretty OP if you ask me.
Or you can even kill a Dr. Balanced and then heal! I'm looking forward to try it on a midrange paladin :D

And how it replace the point of LoH = the cards drawing?

Decent card if BGH gets nerfed in some way

So Rag switched specs from Fire to Holy.
Turn 8 paladin play Ragnaros, Lightlord opponent turn play Ragnaros and get purged; destruction>healing

"Ragnaros, LIghtlord"... I see what you did there... I get it...
Oops...
90% sure this is an April Fools joke.

Everyone upset about the "lore" - remind me again of the very serious lore-based origin of Leeroy Jenkins? ;)

This Rag alone represents a threat to every heavy drop with stats below vanila test or with 'bad' distribution (I'm looking at you, Ysera, Malygos..).
