I have over 1000 arena wins, and tons of 12 wins with mage, paladin, a few 12 wins with shaman druid and hunter but I can't seem to get the grasp of rogue. Most people tell me that rogue is extremely powerful in arena and is part of the tier 1 hero list, but I almost always prefer a tier 3 such as hunter or shaman over rogue. Can someone explain to me what type of playstyle rogues should draft towards? Aggro, midrange, ya know. Cause I've skipped over rogue at least 200 times and if I could get the grasp of rogue it would greatly improve my arena win average as I wouldn't have to settle for the mediocre hunter instead.
Rogue is probably the highest learning-curve class for arena. It's pretty much played as a mix of everything, tempo, aggro, control, midrange, etc. It's got a lot of effective ways to deal with the board while developing threats of its own. Also, Rogue by nature has a lot of burst-y cards so a lot of times you have a pretty clear finisher. In arena, health is a resource, and for Rogue it's your most important one. Your hero power 2-for-1s a lot of common cards in arena, as well as the Paladin hero power. You probably already knew most of this, so I'll get on with drafting. You'll want to draft the obvious good Rogue cards if given the chance, like SI:7 Agent, Deadly Poison, Backstab, Eviscerate, Goblin Auto-Barber, and Buccaneer, to name a few. Rogue, like Warlock, is actually one of the classes where drafting an Antique Healbot isn't bad, so keep that in mind as well. Also, draft the normal fantastic cards, Piloted Shredder, North Sea Kraken, etc. Inspire cards are decent in Rogue because the hero power is so efficient. I feel as though this was kind of an all-over-the-place paragraph and there's a lot more that goes into playing Rogue, but my overall advice is to just keep playing it and eventually you'll get a feel on how to draft and play (like you have with the other classes). Good luck!
Rogue, in my opinion, is the best arena class, just hardest to play properly. I've gotten at least half of my 12 win runs with Rogue, so like I said, I think it's really good.
Rogue is about tempo. It has a lot of value cards like eviscerate backstab si 7 agent for example that can get rid of a minion. Add these with their low cost. Plus rogue's hero power allows you not to hero power each turn to deal 1 damage or deal 3 damage(with deadly poison). Think of it as tempo deck

I wish Valeera had tentacles for arms
Rogue can play any sort of deck, which is why rogues very rarely have a "bad" draft. It all depends on whats available in your draft.
I tend to play Rogue in a tempo way but the beauty of it is the class is so flexible in Arena
I usually go midrange and manage to get the highest win ratio in arena of all the classes I play. Definitely my favourite class for arena.
