I had an Arena Match where I got Pyros from Halluzination on turn 1, played it turn 2 and Cheat Death on turn 3. The Pyros got killed by 2 pings from the mage. While I got the normal deathrattle from the Pyros, the secret did not trigger. Did I miss something here? I have a Screenshot, just need to find a way to upload it. (Edit: Added Screenshot)
If it is as you describe, then it does appear to be a bug. Nope, just need to read more hehe.
But screen or a replay would be helpful to assess the situation, are you 100% it was Cheat Death for example? I know i messed up secrets before myself :)

Yes, you missed.
The deathrattle of Pyros return the card for your hand a 6 manas 6/6, the Pyros don't "die" for the secret be activated.
The same happen if you combine with Spiritsinger Umbra, instead give a 6/6 to your hand the 2/2 return to your hand as 6/6 instead remain in the board and get the 6/6.
Or in a much easy example, the secret don't work if your opponente use a Sap in your Pyros.

That is not how it should work. The deathrattle says something like "return to your hand as a 6/6", so when you have an umbra on the board the deathrattle triggers and it returns to your hand. However, the deathrattle triggers when a minion dies. The Pyros died, therefore it returned to the hand (as a deathrattle) and cheat death should have triggered.

The pyros didn't die, it went back to the hand. In a way it already "cheated death" so cheat death didn't trigger.

Added the Screenshot. Cheat Death is the only Secret I have in my deck and you can see the image on the left I hope.
Right, true that ;-)

Thanks, that was indeed my mistake!
