Yeah, I have to agree with the topic of the thread. So far I've gone 7-1 with a 12 legendary warlock deck. One of my personal favorite cards in this one has been Recombobulator, it just makes for fun times. Probably the most fun I've had with brawl.
I did it with aggro-windfury shaman. Turn 2 victory. Just play many chargers, windfury and buffs. Many people just play strong creatures and are not able to counter aggro. I think everyone should be able to win some games, even with the basic set.

I don't have Blade Flurry or Gadgetzan Auctioneer. I'm a new player so my collection isn't too big yet. I only have 65 dust. Would it be worth trying to dust other cards in order to win brawl? I just am frustrated bc the other brawls were fun! New players are having a tough time with this one due to automatically being at a disadvantage right off the bat.
Absolutely not. Wait for the announcement this afternoon, and maybe just take a week off from Brawl. No sense in dusting cards to *maybe* win against legendary heavy decks.

I think the problem is that most people look at this brawl and say, "Oh man, I can turn 1 deathwing turn 2 nefarian turn 3 ysera". Quite frankly that's the least effective strategy you can use, but a lot of people are using it. The other really popular strategy is turn 1 alexstraza turn 2 chargers and win. This one is actually fairly good, but can be countered in a variety of ways.
If you try and build a deck in one of these archtypes, you will lose. It will just be a worse version of your opponent's deck. You have to build a deck to counter these archtypes to win. Personally, I'm using a high-taunt mill rogue, but I'll let you try and solve the problem your own way.
As a F2P, I'm going to try Priest first. Has some pretty hefty spells you should mulligan for (Mind Control most noteably). Also may be worth throwing in a Brewmaster (something to bounce) in case whatever you steal has a super useful battlecry.

If you have leeroy, replace reckless rocketeer for him, but it should work like this. Just try until you get a good draw and play someone, who wants to use all his lategamelegendaries that are not able to counter aggro.

Miracle Rogue is super powerful and doesn't use any legendaries at all. Druid has a variety of huge minions that on the common/rare level, shaman is great...
I mean seriously just take one look at the main page, the most popular decks are all budget.
I used Druid and got destroyed. You aren't getting it I guess. I fought against several people so far who had numerous legendaries in a row vs my basic cards. It is impossible. I'm using War Golem and some other higher level cost minions like Ogre and Stormwind Champion but I'm at a huge disadvantage.
Then grow a brain and adapt your strategy
No, you cannot win in the "I pile bigger bodies than you" way
But other options, based on bloodlust or miracle, may win you the game with budget (but extremeley specific) decks.
Lol. Nice assumption on the brain. I'm trying to figure out strategies but again, I don't have many cards! You act like I can win this brawl with the basic cards easily by coming up with some foolproof strategy while my opponent plays Dr Boom on turn 1, followed by more fun things.
How do you counter that Minion that sets your HP to 15 turn 1 followed by another big move turn 2? Am I supposed to continuously play taunts until they overwhelm me? I don't think you understand that actual new players do not have a big collection. This is making the brawl hard.
I have not complained about any other brawl. I've been a HUGE fan of them all and was looking forward to this week's. This brawl is hard for new players. We're at a disadvantage here.
I'll continue to play more this evening when I get home. Will test out some more of the suggestions here.

Huh?
I'm talking about sheer power vs new player collections being small. I don't have many cards so this brawl is going to be very tough.
I'm going to take the advice of people in this thread once I get home and try out some other decks.
i like you,you're silly.

What was your deck?

Update: F2P player here. Just finished my first game as priest, and it was a super easy win.
Auto-includes:
-Mind Control x2
-Shadoword Death x2
-Thoughtsteal x2
-Mindvision x2
Mulligan for a Mind Control and/or Shadoword Death. Having a Thoughtsteal in your opening hand is pretty nice too.
Make a stealth/charge deck with warlock. Throw in some buff minions/spells and just go face.
You are not prepared!
Thanks for posting, appreciate it

I didn't even use Ogre, I actually used Reckless. I just was using that as an example.
Anyway, I think we agree that this format is hard for new players. We have some workarounds but will be at a disadvantage due to lack of cards.
@Halfast...I played one pretty close to yours. Turn 1 Alex, turn 2 pyroblast...gg
Ya I can't play this brawl. Keep getting Alex'ed then game over.
