I played highlander warrior which is of course a slow deck, so the opponent didn't really have any pressure on him. I faced a rainbow mage and he had, what I consider, crazy luck with rng. First he gets Blackrock 'n' Roll from Energy Shaper which wasn't a big deal since I could still manage the board well enough, but it kinda gave him a tempo boost in the long run.
Either way, at turn 10 or so he has a +7 Sif and Reverberations, so you can imagine how much face damage that meant. Of course Rainbow Mage wins now and then but it's not a top tier deck by any means, which is why this sudden burst of potential seems like a rare event. Did he just have a good run or is this a bad matchup for me?
Meh. It happens with the rng all the time. This game knows how to fuck you out of wins. It always seems to know if you're on a win streak. I always lose to some rng fan boy that pulls out the best card out of their ass to win. Reno crap is so bogus too. Who the fuck wants to play slow decks while ranking? Unless you don't work or have a life, sure.

True dat. It's just that when I try Rainbow Mage I never get that lucky.
I’m with this guy. I read through the post thinking “Sounds like a normal game of Hearthstone!”
