During Naxxramas, with the release of Mad Scientist I decided to try a secret-heavy mage deck (almost all the secrets available at the time), running cards like Kirin Tor Mage and Ethereal Arcanist.
Needless to say, the deck was a bit clunky, and it was hard to keep things going smoothly. When I could trap my opponent on an endless web of secrets while buffing my Arcanist I was almost sure to win, but it was hard to get to this point, due to the lack of minions and removals to give space to secrets on the deck.
Now, we're seeing cards like Kabal Lackey and Kabal Crystal Runner to be released, and I wonder if some form of tempo-secret mage could be on the verge of beeing a real archetype, with real board presence. Especially now that Flamewaker is on it's last standard moments.
I think it's possible. I still think there is an issue with secrets being still too clunky and slow. If you don't use secrets as the sole focus of the deck, but rather as a way to make strong tempo plays, I think it can be successful. Now if mage gets a card similar to Cloaked Huntress or Mysterious Challenger, then secret mage will be broken! Regardless, I'll certainly try it out!

Hey guys.
I mean, we all saw what Thing from Below did for Totem Shamans.
What do you guys think about it?
I think it's possible. I still think there is an issue with secrets being still too clunky and slow.
